This next
building is my high school Plano West Senior High School. This building is
important to me because it represents my education. Every time I go back or
pass it on the way to run errands, I remember all of the friends I made and the
fun I had with these friends. Recently, when I went back to watch one of my
sisters’ basketball games, they sung the alma mater and it made me think back
to the last time I heard this song which was at graduation.

Continuing
on the Utah theme, the ski lodge at Powder Mountain is another one of the
buildings that really brings me back to my childhood. Remembering ski trips
with my family makes me feel of the “good old days” where I didn’t have a care
in the world and had few responsibilities. Having extended family from the area
really makes me grateful that I was and am able to visit and also have a little
fun.

The
Mormon temple in Salt Lake City is pretty much the main building in Salt Lake
City’s skyline. While the temple has no religious significance for me, being
from Utah, the building represents the city well. Every time I go back, the
building is the first thing you see in the valley set up against the mountains.
Just seeing pictures of the temple brings me right back and really gives me a
sense of nostalgia.

Lastly, of the sites I visited on my trip to Europe, one of the seemingly most underwhelming was the Spanish Arch in Galway. However, what it lacks in visible intrigue, it makes up for in historical significance. The arch has been standing for over five hundred years and was instrumental in protecting the inner city of Galway from intrusion. When you look at it, the arch is nothing more than a few stones cemented together, but you can imagine all of the history it has been through.

Another
of the sites I visited on my trip in 2013 was the Galway Cathedral. On the day
that I visited, the cathedral was pretty much empty and the enormity of the
building was unexpected. As with most cathedrals, the building has very high
ceilings and is shaped like a cross. What I did not expect was the attention to
detail that was put into places that were hardly seen by the visitors. Overall,
the cathedral was a lovely touch to my time in Galway.

This is 'Pops' on Route 66 in oklahoma. The exterior of the building is highlighted by the enormous color changin, led pop bottle that ornaments the front lawn. Inside there is a wide open concept and the place defiantly has the feel of an old diner kind of place. It is a great place to hang out and try out some various old and unique sodas they have at the store. While your at you can also fill up on gas, beautiful and convienant!

This is grey owl coffe off of grey street in Norman Ok. It is small in size in comparison to the other buildings I have posted about, but its size it what makes it a great place. Inside the store there is a calm atmposphere, usually with soft music playing, and there are large, soft couches to sit in or desks to work at. You can order a wide variety of hot chocolates, coffee, and pastries, and it is by far one of my favorite places to study away from home.
