Misc. March Activities

So B likes to draw . . . and create with scrapes of paper, glue and marker. (that's blue chapstick around the lips so I'm told) (:

B made 2 kites at school recently, so Z and Ak were happy when the craft at Story hour was a kite! And yes Z picked a Christmas jacket to wear! (: I think it needs to disappear into the December decoration box! (:
At Music Makers - this snowflake was a hit as a prop.
with both of my kids. (song . . "if all the snowflakes were candy bars and milk shakes" . . .)
Using our coupons for 3 free kids meals while D was in a pre-op appointment!
At our 2nd stop for free meals - the waitress asked what kind when I said the kids would have milk. Once she said, "white or chocolate" and she saw their reaction - she asked, "oh, sorry if I shouldn't have said the C word." (: oh well - B drank white since she had had chocolate with her lunch - but Z and Ak were happy to take chocolate!
At Cradle School - here's Ak with her 4th project at this station! She was intrigued with squirting out the glue like this! (: Luckily the lady let her keep doing them (gluing seeds down to go plant).
They love playing with this rice!
Who teaches him to pose???
We got to take some friends to Cradle School with us - they had a good time!

Church Egg Hunt

Today was a beautiful spring morning for a egg hunt! The younger kids got to go out first to look for eggs.

Luckily there were enough eggs for all the kids!
They had a great time!

Outside . . . And inside - where I let them eat 3 pieces of candy!!! (: Yummy!!!A friend brought this BIG bunny and it was so cute - we had to take pictures with it!
Friends with the bunny - love the shirts - GO CATS!!!! (:

Sock Hop

My parent's ward had a Family Dance last night and we went for a bit!We didn't have any poodle skirts to put on - but B and Z really wanted to dress up 50's style - so we tried. (:
Z had on penny loafers - but took them off right when we got there when he saw grandpa dancing in just socks!!! (: D was able to ride this Harley here for a prop decoration! (:
The kids had fun posing!
Even though no perfect pose/smiles.
They enjoyed it more than I caught with these pictures. (: They also liked the food - although they opted out of the root beer floats. (:
They found other things they liked. (:

On the way home - they asked when is the next sock hop they can go to?! (:
They didn't want to leave. (:
Gotta love free family fun!

A "Threat" No More!

I was told about 6 weeks ago that my son was a "threat to the community" because I was "7 months late in getting his vaccinations" (: (When B was a baby I considered not giving my kids vaccinations - so his comments seemed a little harsh to me!) I think the doctor was not happy I didn't jump at the chance that day to catch Z up that day . . . but I wanted to wait till his body was symptom free and that was this week. (: I told Z that we needed to make an appointment since he wants to register for Kindergarten this week. He said okay. I made an appointment for in 2 days but when I got off the phone he informed he wanted to go TODAY!!! So I called back and they got us in. Brave boy!!! He didn't cry at all! I didn't even know he had gotten a shot until he slightly lifted his shoulder after the 2nd one! At home he wanted to show off his band-aids and strength.
He got 4 shots total. I pray he stays healthy and happy!!!

Our Green Celebration

Yesterday we put on some green and we went to Storyhour. Even left our hats on as we listened to the stories.
Then we made our craft:
Shamrock Derby Hats (they are saying "GREEN")
then we delivered some holiday appropriate treats to those I visit teach at church. (I thought of the idea that morning - so I was proud of myself for getting it together and my kids had fun helping with the sprinkles!)
Then B came home!
Later D walked in dressed like this - the kids saw him outside, it was funny! (: He got the prize at school for being the male most dressed in green! (: (He wasn't allowed to wear the mask or hat at school - but he had green pants and socks on too!)
I was glad as a fmily we ate my attempt at a green dinner! (: (I wanted to do something green - but didn't know what to do - at one of my stops Samantha suggested the white sauce with food coloring - I'm glad she did!!!) B was the only child to try the green Alfredo sauce. (: There was chicken too - but I didn't eat any and this was my plate. (: We had lime green jello and key lime pie too!!! (: I thought it was all yummy!
