#78 - 29 again?
The Opus Gluei Challenge this week is to use leftovers...food or supplies...I chose supplies as I needed a card quick...this card was made with some left over ribbon and papers laying around my craft area....I had this flower that was the last sticker on the sheet and thought it fit in sort of nicely...play along with us and have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

#77 - one colour card
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use one main colour or a tone on tone card...this one cam around quite by accident and it just so happened that the paper, embellishments and ink all matched to a tee event though it was not planned out that way...and I used the wrong stamp on the card from what I had actually meant to use (they were not in the right order in the container and I didn't read close enough)...but the sentiment kind of worked quite well in the situation...play along with us, will you?

#76 - circles
The challenge this week at the Opus Gluei is to use circles in your project...I have been running in circles trying to get to this project...right now we are hopefully sunning ourselves in Tropical Hawaii...as long as there were no typhoons or hurricanes or tsunamis or sinking cruise ships....if there have been, please disregard this happy message :) (what happens when you write stuff in the future and all)...I had a card kit that I just had to use up before we left and this is what I came up with:

#75 - missing you

#74 brrr...it's chilly outside
This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is bbbrrr it is chilly outside...we are to use something to do with winter...penguins, ice, snow etc...I am just loving Jana's project...reminds me of here....I made a cozier type card to try and ward off the winter chills... (but really I am just looking forward to our cruise to Hawaii this week, where I will truly escape the cold for the first time ever)...giddy with excitement!

#73 - blue Christmas -
This week at Shopping our Stash we are doing a two week challenge to celebrate the holidays....I made these cards with some super sparkly paper and then did a monochormati kind of look to them...it is kind of hard to see how sparkly the die cut really is, but trust me the bling factor is there...and they were super hard to poke out all of the little pieces as the paper had a plasticy layer that I didn't know about when I started...play along won't you?

#72 - christmas inchies
The challenge this week at Shopping our Stash is to use product packaging in your design...These inchies were all made with the cardboard backing from a new stamp set that I just unwrapped...I try and ditch my packaging before hubby sees new stuff, so there wasn't much for me to choose from...but I scrounged around and this is what I could come up with...play along, won't you?

#71 -the stockings were hung
This week's challenge at the Opus Gluei is to do something with shopping or Christmas or both....we spent the whole evening on Saturday shopping at our mall (there was an after hours fundraiser and we shopped along with thousands of other people to get a jump on the Christmas season...but didn't buy much as it was just too crazy busy)...but just thinking about Christmas brought this card to mind:

#70 Mickey and the Mistletoe
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use something that was on your desk...I had my box of dies out and these cute little craft cards (trying to use them up...doesn't seem to be a problem though)...I had this sparkly paper out too for some other Christmas cards, but I thought I would blast these out of the scraps.....

#66 - With sympathy
This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is to do a halloween project or use black and orange...I chose black and oranget as I had this paper lying around and I just got the background for this butterfly...loving it as the outline is so nice and dainty but it was sure lacking without the background...had to break down and buy it...play along this week, won't you?

Anyone want a tour of my new craft room???
Anyone want a tour of my new craft room? I was finally given the "keys" to my new crafting area. Hubby built it all for me over the last few months...as of June it was just plain concrete walls and a concrete floor in the basement....now it is a gorgeous crafting haven all made for me...gotta love him!
this is my view coming down the basement stairs...there is a little bar and lounge with a round pub table off to the left as well...
this is the view in the "bar area" - even have cable tv down here so I can watch my shows while making projects and wrapping gifts....the island is huge so nuch space to work on...it gets filled up so quickly with project stuff...
this basement has huge windows in it,so there is lots of natural light coming in to work with...
this is the pantry on the right side of the room....full of cardstock and pictures and wrapping supplies....it is rather deep and holds 2 magazine files deep...whic is awesome because I have a ton of 8.5x11 cardstock in there
this is my embellishment cabinet...it took a bit of a hit with the packing tape when we moved and now I can't get the sticky goo off of the front of all of the drawers...tried peanut butter, cooking oil, rubbing alcohol, sticky out, magic eraser and windex...none have worked...if you have any other suggestions, please leave them in the comment area as I love this cabinet and want it to look nice again!
this is where I have my cricut cartridges- they are three deep in an angle each way...this is the corner cabinet and it is kind of akward...but the cabinet is deep enough to keep my mats in it too, so I guess akward can be good as well?
I got these milk jars at a yard sale this summer and just loved the idea of them...they are filled with loose wood pieces and buttons
this canister set was also from that same yard sale....just painted up the base and got rid of the lids...now all my washi tape and little bits of ribbons and lace are right at my finger tips...plus I love the little pop of red in there!
more stamps....like I said, three cupboards of them...have to stop accumulating them!
these are my stampin up stamps and all other wood stamps (except Christmas - they have their own cabinet above this part of the pantry)...I bought extra containers for all my non- stampin up stamps and put all wood ones in the same kinds of containers and then labelled them all so they can be found much easier...before they were all in storage buckets and I couldn't find anything...now they are all together and easy to use...so glad I took the time to do this...it was that or get rid of the wood stamps...and I like using wood stamps more than acrylic...they just stamp so much clearer!
the two cabinets under this side of my island are for all of my 12x12 papers and kits...there are 8 sections full of iris cases which have all of my paper and thickers etc...they fit just so nicely under here....the back half of the island by the tv side is full of my card bases and envelopes...it also has all of my ribbon and two small angle cabinets with trinkets in it...the island has tons of storage underneath....
this is one of my large drawers beside my other pantry...the bottom drawer is filled with punches and the one above it is filled with my big shot and embossing folder and dies...love these drawers...
adhesives, adhesives, adhesives...two shelves and a drawer full of adhesives....
Well thanks for looking and I hope you have a great day...I am going to go craft now.....

this is where I have my copic markers stored...not sure if I like it or not, but I am still trying to work out the kinks of my storage and organization...and I have a lot of kinks...I am not an organized type of person~!

I have three cupboards like this for my acrylic stamps...they are all neat and organized and labelled in Stampin up containers and I am loving this system....I have so many stamps that don't get used when I can't see them and these containers let you see everything...fabulous!

# 65 - merry Christmas deer...
This week's challenge at the Order of the Opus Gluei is to do something for the man in your life...I thought these would be good as these are all of the Christmas cards going to the men in my family...as masculine as I can get for a Christmas card at least...

#64 - snowmen
This weeks' challenge at Shopping our Stash is to use your oldest ribbon - my auntie gave me this giant roll of white ribbon years ago....there is so much on it as it was an industrial size roll for a fabric company...I have been using it forever and there is probably still enough on it to wrap around my house 4 times...but it is a nice thick weight and great for Christmas cards...made 12 of these babies!!! |

#63 - window birds
The challenge this week at Shopping our Stash is to use 2 or more types of embossing...I glitter embossed the birds and the window is dry embossed...the background is also glitter embossed with a disco ball and just sparkly, the sentiment is also heat embossed - these cards were akward to make, but the effect is super fun.. |
