okay, i always posts these backwards, every time!
in the last few months here are some highlights:
Swim Lessons - Carly doing her windshield wiper action every time she comes out of the water
Shannon's Wedding - Fly, Drive, and tons of fun! Including Maine, Lobster and family time...Carly did amazing.
Carly slowly talking - recently she will say stuff like...oh, i'm so pretty or Oh NO! what are you doing? Then back to baby jibberish?!? Trying to decipher her language.....
Yo Gabba Gabba - we got to do a quick visit to the set and when we tried to leave, it was meltdown central. I'm pretty sure we made a scene as we exited with my hand covering her mouth. Poor thing, she just wanted to be there the rest of her life.
Halloween - pumpkin carving with Grandma & Grandpa, visiting all the Grandparents and wearing her FAVORITE foofa costume and she did try to hug the mirror when we put it on her. She was so excited, it was so funny. Thanks to Carla who made it happen and her reaction was priceless.
oh, and we moved?!?! We were very sad to leave Brea and loved how much time we got to spend there in our favorite house (The Ward's), but we did find a little home in Yorba Linda that we are slowly getting acquainted with. It is a fun adventure for us...but we couldn't be more thankful for our Brea house and our second family the Wards for letting us be there for so long.

Summer TIME, but back to EASTER....
I'm a little embarrassed that I haven't posted in months! But that what happens when you are chasing a 17 month old.
Here are some quick memories -
We went to the Santa Ana Zoo, I think Carly enjoyed the stationary objects more than the moving monkeys. So serious is she.
Next came Easter and I think Bentley enjoyed the eggs more than Carly did, after all they were full of goldfish!!! who couldn't resist those nasty little critters (i'm not a fan but i'm the only one in the house singing that tune).
I finally got a picture of Carly and her teeth, we have been teething FOREVER. I don't think it ever ends...next comes the potty training which i'm not looking forward to. We tried the toilet once and i think she thought i was pushing her into the swirling abyss, sort of like that time i put strawberries in her applesauce and sort of like that time Dad threw chicken in her mouth as she was crying. No wonder she doesn't trust us!!
But our favorite things these days are little tantrums. Very dramatic and they only last a few seconds but the hands are over the nose and eyes with the head coming down to the floor. I'm sure if she had hair, that would be flipping and flailing all over, but we won't have to worry about that for awhile. Although, in this pic, she is being coy about some sort of secret that she thinks is sort of funny, but i haven't got a good picture of the drama that comes with saying "Don't touch" or "that is not for little Girls." But we are loving this stage as words start to come and her personality shines a little more each day.

Maryland Bound
March was Mad for sure.
It was full of fun adventures out East with my Sister and her family.
I love the last picture because it shows how much Carly was taken care of the whole time she was there, 4 little kids at her beck & call. She was in heaven.
Of course I had to get a picture with Lucy..being an old anthropologist and all...many years ago.
It was fun to see my good buddy Cades and her family.

FEbruary Flu Season
i don't remember much about February except being sick the WHOLE Month. Carly was sick with the worst cold, then I took on the Sinus Infection, then Johnny brought the flu home from Boston and luckily I got it and not Carly because you had the chills for days. It was no fun.
So we had a serious February but managed to get a few sunny days in there! One day was suppose to be 80 so we put some shorts on Carly girl and headed off to the temple and Newport for a Balboa bar. Fountains & Water had her captivated until we forced her back into her favorite place, the car.
Carly has been giving us more serious looks lately. She is quickly finding out what she wants and letting us know what that is.
She is serious about her milk and her bottle - not looking forward to taking that away.
She is very serious about her yo gabba and will bring you the remote to let you know it is time for HER show. She is very serious about not showing her teeth, since we have 6-7 new teeth since her 1 yr birthday. Watch out, she'll get ya, I would too if my mouth hurt for 9 weeks straight. She is loving the freedom of running as fast as those little legs will carry her. She is very serious about her yogurt & cereal (cold & hot).
And she loves to say Go, Clock (I wonder where she got that from), Hi and we would like to think when she hands us something and looks quizzically at us saying "What's this?" is really "What's this". Funny, how my hearing has suddenly gotten better or maybe I just speak great baby talk.

Carly 12 months
Time has flown by and we finally had Kelsey take some photos of little Carly. We could not get this serious girl to smile until the end but she did great through all the clothes, chairs, horses, dog trying to get in every shot.
Her favorites are:
yogurt, yo gabba gabba, her milk (whole milk :)), cheerios, her crocheted blanket, julius, rocking horse, her shopping cart, and her rocking chair.
She has three teeth, 2 bottom, 1 top and loves to wave and say "hi" to everyone she sees. Including the dog every morning and Bentley does not find it funny when she is trying to sleep. Her and Bentley give each other high fives later in the day to make up for the rough morning. What a lazy dog we have.

Happy 1st Birthday
We partied hard for Carly's First Birthday
Thanks to everyone who helped out & especially Kels who took photos while Johnny & I grilled away.
Remember...
Grilled Cheese Bar, yummy chocolate cake, my child won't get food on her fingers, dr pepper (only for The Big Kids), Brobee entering the party & Carly freaking out, cute piggy bank for her college fund, shopping cart being pushed everywhere, pickles, good company and a great family.
Happy Birthday Car Car. We are still smitten.
