Christmas Morning 2009

We had a really nice Christmas. We talked to the kids the night before about sleeping until at least 6am, and taking turns opening presents because it's not a race to get everything unwrapped, and they were so great the next morning! They divided all the presents into piles, let me take pictures of them, and then watched each other open and it was wonderful. It even lasted about an hour! Wowsers! A record at our house for sure. What good kids. They were happy with what Santa brought to them and we had a good day. After opening presents and eating breakfast casserole they played with their toys. One of my favorite moments on Christmas morning was a game of one-on-one Kyler and I had with his new glow-in-the-dark basketball hoop on the back of the closet door. It was so funny and we laughed and had a good time. We loaded up and went to my parent's house for a late lunch and opened more presents. Then went to Dave's family's house for another dinner and more presents. We are spoiled! And enjoyed every minute. A very Merry Christmas indeed.

Brenner's 'Cheese!'

Dave got some new church shoes, new church pants, a new tie, and a new jacket.
Kyler's best gifts: electric scooter, roller blades, basketball hoop, shoes.

Lexi's best presents: American Girl Doll, suitcase, Littlest Petshop Adoption center.

Porter's best presents: Batman Castle, cash register calculator thing, Kung Fu Panda.
Brenner's best present: Rocking horse.

On Christmas Eve the doorbell rang and in walked my new piano! Dave is so sneaky! I had no idea. He is the best at surprises. I've been wanting a piano for years, especially now that the kids are old enough and wanting to take lessons. I am thrilled! I can even still remember how to play a hymn or two (but that's all). I look forward to practicing a little more. The only thing I wish we had now were doors on the front room to drowned out the beautiful melodies that are constantly being banged out of those ivory keys! My children are future Mozart's in the making. haha. I also got a new vacuum. Oh I love my husband. Since Lexi vacuumed up a sock a month or two ago our old one hasn't been the same. Someday, oh someday, I would love a Dyson, but for now I'm so grateful for this one! It works great!
