And all of a sudden it’s 2022!

 Hi blogland,  Is there anyone still out there?  Does anyone blog anymore?  So how has a short break from blogging led to a 7yr gap? So what’s been happening? Work is insanely busy and involves a lot of travel but on the flip side I am rapidly working through my must read pile of books. The children are now all adults, all 3 are at various universities and I spend most weekends visiting them, I’m so proud of the independent young adult they have become. Obviously the last 2yrs with the pandemic have been challenging as I work in a frontline role that meant everyday we faced the risks often without adequate PPE at the start.  I managed to avoid covid for 18mths but got caught on Xmas Eve 2021.  All I will say is that I am so grateful for all the vaccinations, as I was really unwell for a few weeks so fear how ill I would have been without any vaccinations. wow it's September

So where on earth did the summer go? In a a rush of a new job, kids taking their exams others just starting, eldest finding part time work to fit around college and a week away in Cornwall we find ourselves on the brink of autumn.  Although the 1st of September can only mean one thing.... Shimelles learn something new everyday class.  This will be the 6th year I think. But I have neither the time or supplies to complete it in paper format so I am hoping to blog the month.  We will see. Anyway head over to   www.shimelle.com  and check out the class.

So over the Easter holiday we went sheep hunting.  Shaun the sheep have been decorated and placed all around london in trials. So we headed off for the day, warm sunshine and picnic.  This gorgeous one was outside St. Paul's cathedral. Beefeater was outside the Tower of London  Petal was found by tower bridge. There are two more trails to complete for us, so watch out London we will be back soon.

Wow where has this month flown too

I can't believe that we are almost at the end of April already. So how's it been? Well I took off ten days over Easter to spend with the kids. Took off, I wish. I can honestly say that even when my job Is stressful it's still easier than occupying and pleasing four teenagers.  I count the twins as teenagers, they are approaching 12 and are already in the swing of it. So over Easter we headed to te local national trust forest for the annual cadburys Easter egg hunt around the forest. You find the stamps along the trail and then work out the word.  As you can see it was rather sticky but such great fun. The guys all got their eggs and we sat by the lake tucking in hot chocolates as well. Easter Sunday nanny and pops came over for dinner, so I cooked a lemon drizzle cake and a banana and choc log, well it is Easter after all. So I hope you all had a fab Easter and tummies full of choc, wow it seems so long ago now.

A day out with the man child

My eldest is now a man child, at 14 stands at 6.1 but still loves a cuddle.  For his birthday I bought him tickets to see the rugby union London derby at Wembley.  So yesterday we headed off via London to jump on the tube.  We got to Liverpool St and happened to see the first three statues of the Shaun in the city hunt.  Ok I may have planned it that way lol  Then we jumped on the tube round to wembley,  It was a record crowd of 84,062 people and it was good game but sadly the quins lost to the sarries . We then headed home via McDonalds lol every boys fave food.
