Issa tagged me again. She just gave me the Blog of Destinction & Brillante Weblog Awards! Thank you friend!

So, here are the rules that go along with the awards:
1. You post the award logos on your blog.
2. You link back to the person who awarded them to you.
3. Nominate at least 7 people whose blogs you admire and add links back to their blogs.
4. Leave a message for the nominees on their blogs.

And, here are my nominees for inspirational blogs and very talented artists:
Jenn (Memories of Jenn), CV ( Just because...), Meanne (Me and My World), Dianne (Malibu Dream), Joanne (My Life and My Boys), Pam (Love my Blog), Lee (The Armchair Scrapper).

Birthday Tag from Beverley Todd

I celebrated my birthday last Friday and I also got a birthday tag from my friend Issa! The tag is a part of Beverley Todd's 40th birthday celebration and you can view the instructions here. So if I tag you, you better spread the tag because there'll be lots of prizes to win. Happy Birthday Beverley!

Here are her questions and my answers...

1. What age was your best birthday (so far) & why? It was my 28th birthday. This is my last birthday as single. Hubby proposed to me that day. I also got lots of letters from my siblings. I got teary eyed reading those.

2. What was the worst? None, so far.

3. What is the best present you have ever received? If material thing, it will be the Guess Wallet from my sis last year. For something very special, it is the new life inside me from GOD.

4. What was the weirdest? Nothing I can remember right now.

5. Where would you most like to spend your birthday? Our home with my family. I just want a simple celebration.

6. What is your zodiac sign? Cancer

7. Chinese Year? Dragon ... powerful?!

Thanks for the tag Beverley and Issa... and now I will pass it to Meanne, Jenn, CV and Dianne.

Arte y Pico Award

Thanks so much Jenn, for passing this award to me and for considering my blog creative & inspiring. I really appreciate it.Thank you also for appreciating my "SWEET ESCAPE" LO.

This award was created and to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creativity and their talents, also for contributing to the blogging world in whatever medium. When you receive this award it is considered a “special honor“. Once you have received this award, you are to pass it on to 5 others.”What a wonderful way to show some love and appreciation to your fellow bloggers!!!

The rules for passing this honor on are:

1) Pick 5 blogs that you would like to award this honor to. (This is the hard part–there are just so many good ones around it is very difficult to choose just five.)

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3) Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

So the award goes to: CV, Meanne, Dianne, Issa and Aggie.

Fashionable Eyeglasses at a low Price

My sister is complaining about her eyes. She can't clearly see objects far from her. I think she's now far sighted. Then, while I am searching the net, I got to see the Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses. They sell stylish and fashionable eyeglasses at a very low price. My sister is also crazy about fashion and this is the reason that she doesn't want to wear eyeglasses but there are Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni. I think my sister would like them. I also learned that Zenni Optical was on FOX news! This is great. I think my sister would be proud wearing those glasses.

MLA & SH SCRAPJAM

Last Saturday, although hubby and I were still tired because of our group bonding the day before, we got up early to prepare for the Scrapjam. We arrived early in Nette's place. But there were 2 more scrapbookers who arrived earlier than us. Hehehe. Hubby just chose a place for me then we went shopping. And these are the items we bought.

We're able to see old and new faces. Also able to meet friends like Issa, Meanne and CV. It was a fun-filled day. We had a lot of projects like the mini toot paper bag, CD album, flip and fold album and the make & take by MF. Most of them I tried finishing @ home. Will post the pix of these projects on my next post.

I love these projects as well as the other activities we had like the stamping demo by Jian (Marissa's DD), the Scrap Bingo, Raffle, the ODS Challenge and the "Paagaw" (Marissa and Nette literally threw items to all the participants. It was really fun. Everybody had fun.

This is the content of the loot bag.

I got this from the "Paagaw".

Did I mention that I also got these from the Raffle?

Marissa also gave an special stamp for me and dra. rita.

This is my entry to the ODS Challenge.

It is already Tuesday but I still have a hang-over. I will definitely attend the next event that MLA and SH will conduct (if my schedule permits). Looking forward to it.

More stories about the scrapjam in the blogs of Lee, Issa, Chiqui, Dra. Rita ... (I haven't checked the blog of other participants.).

Early July Gifts

Today I got 2 gifts. The 1st gift came from my previous group. I moved to a new product line due to insisted public demand. Hehehe. Joke lang po. Actually, it was my choice because I think there is a good career opportunity in my new group. I started working in my group since Q1 while still working with the old group. This 3rd quarter, I had moved 100% to my new group and my old group gave me this frame. Appreciate it. I'm touched. Hehehe.

The 2nd gift was a cake from our company, all birthday celebrants will be given a mini cake on the month of their birthday. This is a new tradition that they started last month. I was lucky to have one today. It looks yummy. You want some?

Bay-jing Olympics 2008

Last Friday (July4), our department had our yearly team bonding in Grand Villas Resort in Laguna. It was a whole day affair called the "Bay-ing Olympics". There were 10 groups named after a country. We played different sports like basketball, badminton, volleyball and swimming. The mechanics of the sports were changed from the traditional one. We are also able to do some obstacle course and a war game like in Takeshi's Castle. It was fun. The child in everyone of us showed up. There was also an awarding for the MVP, each sports and the best teams were awarded a trophy. It was just unfortunate that I was not able to join in the games because of my condition but glad that I was able to participate in the parade, dressing up our muse and coaching the team in the obstacle course. By the way, I was from the Group of Russia while Hubby was from Team Philippines. Some pix below:

More Pix in this link.

Just want to comment on the place. It has the complete facilities for team activities. However, since there is a mini zoo in the place, there were lot of flies showing up during meal time. The food is not bad but seeing the flies everywhere will make you lose your appetite. It was so disgusting.

But overall, we enjoyed the day!

I thought he likes Chocolates with Peanut Butter

We've been married for 3 years but it is only this evening that I knew - he doesn't like it. I assumed because he once told me that he likes Butterfinger Chocolates. And since this chocolate bar is a combination of rich milk chocolate and crunchy peanut butter, I thought that he likes every chocolate with peanut butter. But I was wrong.

We've laughing really hard inside the car. He told me that it is because I kept on assuming. All those time, he was wondering why I kept on giving him peanut butter flavored chocolate. Wow MALI! Hehehe.

Typhoon Frank ruined my Recent LOs

Yesterday.... I was not able to sleep well because of the Typhoon Frank. The rain was falling so hard and deafening. Though I was half-asleep, I was looking at hubby from time to time to see if the rain is waking him up. But it didn't. He was so asleep.I still needed to wake him up for him to check if all our windows are closed. Though, he was so sleepy, he got up and found out that some of the windows in our room are still open. Some of our things already got wet including my AMM tote. I was half mad that time. Then, he got back to sleep. I was able to sleep for some time but I dreamt that windows from the other room is open and the water is coming it. I woke up and tried to woke up hubby. He told me that it was closed. Believing in him, I go back to sleep.

At 8 in the morning, a strong banging of a window woke me up. I asked hubby to checked it. It was the window by our stairs. A lot of water already went inside our house. Hubby also informed me that my cart got wet. I got up immediately and found that my scrapbook albums are wet. I was fiery mad that time but don't know who to blame. What makes me more mad is that the LOs that got wet were my latest creations. Waah. Hubby also got mad because he became my shock absorber. Then, I asked hubby to just let my LOs dry up downstairs in our sala. Good thing that hubby thought of my heat gun. He dried my LOs with the heat gun. Buti na lang... di masyado halata na nabasa after he dried them up. Pero yung album which is a cloth didn't dried up nice. Maybe, it is because of the color - black and white. After matuyo namin lahat... medyo nawala na init ulo ko. Hubby just asked me to watched the movie " Drillbit Taylor". It was nice and funny movie. And it made me forget the wetness that happened to my LOs.

My question now is how can I make the cover of my album look better? Any suggestion?

In need of a Credit Card?

In our country, the use of credit is not as in-demand like in the other countries. In some countries, you can use your credit card in almost all of the stores.

Currently, I am maintaining two credit cards. I can't give up both because of the benefits that I'm getting from it. The other card gives me gas rebates while the other gives me the lowest interest rate.

While I was surfing the net, I chanced upon this credit card site. It has the complete list of cards available in the market. You can search for a card that suits your preferences and needs. You can search for a card that gives the best rebates, the best rewards and the best offer for balance transfer. There is also a category for special needs like by bank, hotel, airline, gasoline and brand. The site also have an option to search for a card that is best for those with bad credits which are recommended by experts. The site can also help the customers apply for a credit card online.

Overall, I love the site. It is so complete. We can refer this to our friends. And if ever, hubby and I thought of migrating to other country and would need a credit card, we will surely go to this site.

Weekend at Home

We stayed at home the whole weekend because my dad is working with our dirty kitchen's roof. My dad can do almost everything in the house like carpentry, electrical, metal works and paint jobs. He already did a lot of work in our home - master bedroom cabinet, painting of the house, gate, fence and even my garden.

Ariel helped dad with some of the works while I was just taking pictures and giving comments on their works and plan. Very bad of me, huh?

Ariel trying to clean up

Discussing where to put the rope for hanging clothes.

Today, the roof is done. Just need to paint the walls and woods. The roof will still need some time before painting. This may happen in a few weeks. Dad would also make us a temporary kitchen cabinet. I wonder how it would look like. Hmmm.

My New Baby - Canon Selphy

We were able to try out our new Canon Selphy last Friday. We got it last Thursday from our suking tindahan - EBAY.

We are so happy with it. The advantage of having a compact printer at home is having less pressure of getting to the mall in time for a pix that we need to print asap.

The only problem we have now is we need to buy ink and photo papers. We already used 1 out of the 5 complimentary papers in the package. So excited to use it more!

Our Wikend Recap (5/24 and 5/25)

We had a simple weekend.

SATURDAY
We stayed at home but did able to do a lot of things. We had an afternoon home service massage. It was good for a promo price of 275 1.5H whole body massage. Hubby also tried cooking a baby back ribs for dinner. It was yummy for a 1st timer. I was able to work on some pages for my unfinished mini album from scrapfest. It is still unfinish. I still have 2 pictures to work on. I'll post them soon. I hope soon. Hehe.

SUNDAY
We went to Pasig to visit my parents but we went 1st to INDEX salon. Hubby had a haircut and I had my hair trimmed and cellophaned. Vanity is expensive. Haha.We had lunch in my parent house. Also able to play with my nephew. He gained a lot of weight. He is almost 5kgs. He is overweight for an almost 3 month old baby.
Also, for vanity, i had my nails done by our suking manicurista. We left my parents house at around 3pm. We had pm snacks in Pancake House in Alabang. It was an expensive mirienda and not money smart which contradicts my thoughts on my other blog. We also attended the 5pm mass in our Parish. And since it was also our fiesta, it was star stunded. It was celebrated by 4 priests (our parish priest, 2 more priests and our Imus Bishop). It was also attended by the Cavite Congressman and Imus Mayor (Strike Revilla). I don't wanna be sarcastic but they are both late for the mass. They arrived almost 30mins late. Hehehe. Hubby and I both grew up in the City and we are not familiar with such customs in the province. However, I think it was fun. They have a band playing, some programs and other gimiks.

Anyway, we had a worthwhile weekend because we spent every minute of it together!

New SB Mags

Yesterday, I received these mags i bought from bookoto. I love them - lots of inspiration inside! Can't wait to scraplift them.
