Guess the Song #6 variation
This is an assemblage I did some years back which has some of the words of yesterday's song on it - you can see the words "one more time" in the window: when you depress the plunger on top of the box, the fork lowers down in a threatening manner. I am hoping to put some of these up on mosaic sculpture site (at right) by the end of the day.

Guess the Song # 3
Is the title character confused about his nature? If you watch the whole video, it would certainly appear that he's suffering from existential confusion HERE

Guess the Song # 2
Nola standard played by this spendid-looking man on a Hawaiian lap guitar. But who is the announcer? If any of my English authorities know, please leave info by clicking comments. The song is HERE

Winged Victory
This piece is currently in a show on College Avenue in Berkeley. Unfortunately something happened to the gallery which caused it to need emergency repairs, so it's closed for a couple of weeks. Pretty much, things break down and need to be repaired. Like this piece I suppose - although I'll admit to taking a hammer to part of it myself before building it back up.

Dancing Fox
People have a long love/hate relationship with foxes. The fox makes its appearance in Japanese folk stories as the fox maiden, and in 20th century fiction in Tesnohdlidek's Cunning Little Vixen and David Garnett's Lady into fox. Red-haired Odysseus is the human fox. It's a mix of admiration and envy, perhaps. This is available in tshirt form at redbubble

Longing
This is a clydesdale who wishes he/she had been a pretty little horsie. I have been hearing a lot of people telling other people shame, shame for not being politically correct recently. You could actually read incorrectitude into this...ie, we should all be allowed to identify ourselves as we see fit. This drawing may originate in conversations I have had with a friend about feeling awkward about not fitting into the conventional feminine norm (taking it out of that arena). Although I still agree with Robert Hughes, about PC. being a way to seize the moral high ground without having to do any of the work.

Full Moon Hat
Dear Reader: this is the inaugural drawing for my drawing-a-day theme-a-week blog. Below is a drawing i did of a werewolf dealing with a mundane task. Then I watched the video for Tom Waits' Downtown Train on Youtube, with the old guy remarking "Every time there's a full moon he sings all night long". Coincidence???? This week's theme is headgear. Next week's will be dogs, just because I like them and have been drawing them. If anyone wants to suggest a them OR an idea for an illustration in keeping with the week's them, let me know.
