Mr. "Jack" Rabbit has arrived!! Also, a "grubby" candle re-do!

Hi Blogger Friends!
I have something new to show you!
This is my very first prim handmade soft-sewn item I've ever ordered!
His name is Mr. "Jack" Rabbit and he was made by Tammy
over at "Rock River Stitches" Blog.......she did such an awesome job and was so nice
to work with!
She really has an eye for details....which I dearly love!
Notice his little quilted pack complete with his own little carrots on both sides!!
She has several other really adorable hand-mades on her Blog and Etsy sites.....I already have my eye on the little bird pinkeep in blue with the strawberry in it's beak! Too cute!
I told her I would post Mr. "Jack" Rabbit on my blog as soon as I got our cannery cabinet arranged.....
Here is the link to her blog......http://rockriverstitches.blogspot.com/
Thank you again and nice job, Tammy!!!

How do you think it all looks? This is a very lovely piece of furniture with so much storage!
There is a "hidden" lid where the crocks are that lifts for a nice area for storing whatever!
Then the doors open and you guessed it......more storage!
Plus the three drawers open and they are really good sized drawers....
We have an order for a piece like this to go to Ohio in August.....If anyone else would like to purchase a piece like this or any of our other furniture pieces from our Picture trail site....
Please e-mail us at: backwoods.primitives@gmail.com maybe we can even deliver it to ya!!!

Remeber this.???....I paid $5.99 for it and the candles at a thrift store recently.....

I wanted to "grubby" up the candles and this is how they turned out!
I really like them!
So what do you blog pals think????

Thrift Store Finds.....A Special Happy Birthday!

Well ,good morning blog friends!
It's raining here this morning and everything is just a burst of color outside.....the pasture fields are so green and beautiful!

First off.......THANK YOU! to each of you that left the sweetest comments to my last post!
You all are the best! I appreciate knowing that you all do enjoy my posts.....I wasn't so sure I was delivering on the "interesting factor"......although I do my best..... :)
You friends that commented made my day! You are precious folks! THANKS!

O.k.......now.....I'd like to wish my friend ,Terry at "Cider Moon Cottage" blog......
a great big............ " HAPPY BIRTHDAY"!!!!!
Terry is a very dear person and as my other two sweet pals, Carolyn (Cranberry Crossings) and Jenn (Bittersweet Prims) have already mentioned.....is a very talented individual....
I'd say MEGA talented!
If you've never been to her blog "Cider Moon Cottage" scroll down my blog list and click on her blog to link you over.....take a look at the wonderful Noah's Ark carvings she and her DH have done....they're amazing works of art!
She also sews and makes the best penny rugs and the wool eggs she makes are just the neatest lil' things !
Also, Terry is a Master Gardener and has another blog with her wonderful photos of the veggies they grow and her beautiful flower gardens!
Truly inspiring!
Her"Cider Moon Cottage" blog will have a link to her gardening blog......
Pop on over and check out her great blogs, say "hello" and even wish her a
Happy Birthday!!
Have a wondeful day, Terry! :)

Here's my thrift store finds from yesterday afternoon.....

Found this little package of "faux"chocolate eggs in a vendor's booth when I went to work in mine......they were $1.00 for 9 of them tied up in the little bag....I thought they were realistic looking....some even were a white chocolate color with a dark chocolate "drizzle" on them like candy......they looked like the real thing!
I preferred the solid ones for what I wanted to do with them......

This is what I wanted to do with them.....remember the "aqua" eggs that DD and I painted the other day? What do ya think? Hmmmmm.........?
Isn't cool how different settings on your camera can change the whole appearance of what you are photographing? I'd really like to know more about that stuff.....
Argggghhhh! I lost one of pics..... :( I'll have to just go with this one....

Found this wooden sugar mold/candle holder (with these big ol' fat votives) in another second-hand shop all for $5.99......I want to grubby/grunge these votives something terrible...wouldn't that look so good?
Can someone please tell me the easy way of how to do that???? Thanks!

Then, I found this set of Bunny boxes for $7.00 in another vendor's booth at the place where I have my booth.....thought they had potential.....these photos show all the sides to the box set......

I am not wild about the bright pink colors....although it grows on ya.....
I had thought about doing the wipe on and wipe off thing with the stain
to tone them down and "prim" them up.....
Again.......what would y'all do?
That's a silly question isn't it? :)
I hear chanting in Blogland.....PRIM THEM! PRIM THEM!! PRIM THEM!!!
LOL!! O.k. already!
Which one of you is saying that????!!!

I may have my LR/DR re-do pics on later this evening......I'm still tweaking! LOL!
You'll have to remain in suspense a little longer.......that is fun doing that isn't it Lisa (Primitives From Above)??? Tee hee.....we're so bad! :)

I'm still hearing....PRIM THEM....PRIM THEM...........PRIM THEM......
hee hee......

Thrift Store Treasures and.....am I boring?

Morning Blog Pals!
Well actually it's the wee hours of the morning here......
I was up with a bit of tummy troubles......a rumbley in my tumbley....as Pooh bear would say!
Anywho.....after much "contemplation" and another word that sounds like that......happy to say things are much better now! :)

I had a follow-up appt. at the new Dr. yesterday.....When I walked in and up to the receptionist's window......I waited for her to look up and acknowledge me being there.......she said, "May I help you?"........... "Yes, m'am", I replied....I'm Mrs. Magoo (pointing to my hub-cap sized eye-glasses)here for my 9:45 appt."(smile).......She paused to catch what I had just said and let out a little chuckle.......the girl that checked my BP (which was lower....Praise the Lord!) was laughing so hard at my Mrs. Magoo antics and the comments that my DH had made about the shape of the lenses making me look like a Bassett hound!
Or that I was wearing hub-caps.....lol!
It's good to laugh at yourself and situations you can do nothing about ......except try to make the best of.....I'd rather laugh about it as to cry.....at 5:30 AM yesterday when I broke my other pair of glasses I nearly wanted to....

Well... I have another Praise the Lord!
The Dr. said my lungs were clear and sounded good! Yeahhhh!!!
However, I have been having some acid reflux and food getting "stuck" issues so he put me on "the purple pill" Nexium......I pray....and ask you all to please, please pray with me and for me that this medication is a healing tool provided by the Lord to make me better......I give Him the glory for what He's going to do!
I know I don't want to have a scope done.....I understand that most everyone says "It's no big deal' to have it done.....I have had it once before....years ago and I know I really didn't feel or remember a thing.....I just don't want to have to go through that......especially right now......
I really trust that the Lord is going to take care of this with this medication and me making some
serious changes in "old habits" that I have (no, I don't drink or smoke) I mean eating habits and exercise.....or the lack of.....
I've already lost about 10 pounds since being sick.....but I don't recommend doing it that way though!
I just did not have much of an appetite when I had all those "lung" issues.....
The appetite is way fine now....I've just decided to watch what I eat and how much.....and even the "when" as well......I have to eat a fairly early supper to give things more time to digest before
bedtime.....that is supposed to help with the GERD issues.....

The next thing is soft drinks......I just plain ol' like 'em.......ALOT.....
I have cut way back on them and drink more water than I ever have......of course "cokes" as we in the South refer to all things carbonated and good......are just full of what I already have too much of....acid.....lovely......
DH and I both agree that we do not get enough of the right type of exercise......even though we are very busy people......it's just not enough to be "busy."
I took about a 20 minute brisk walk with DD and the pups after supper lastmight at sunset.....
It's my plan to do that at least once a day as the weather allows.......it sure was a beautiful day Monday..........but boy was it ever a crazy day!
Here's another Praise the Lord!
Went to my Optometrist and everything had checked good with my eyes.....very little change in my vision in over a year and a half....got my glasses ordered too......Yeah!!! BIG YEAH!!
I really like the frames I chose....they have the "in vogue" wider temple pieces on the sides.....they are a pretty red color with a touch of black and a hint of white right where the temple/ear piece hinges to the frames.....I got the Transitions darkening in the lense and the new no-glare stuff....I have alot of difficulty seeing to drive at night.....especially when it's raining.....this is supposed to help with that......??????
Also went with the high-index type lenses in order for them to be able to cut tmy lense thickness down on the sides to look better in my frames.....otherwise they'd look like I was peering through Coke bottle bottoms!! LOL!!

Well....all of this came to.......a GRAND TOTAL of.........drum roll please........
$405.00!!! Isn't that just soooo sweet?!!! (rolling my eyes) :)
One of our kiddos is now going to Optometry school! LOL!!!
They just aren't aware of it .......yet!
So at least moma can get free eyewear!! hee hee......

Well.....moving on to something else......
I am so appreciative of those of you that have been so sweet and kind to leave such thoughtful comments to my posts.....but I feel I must be boring to many others......I really try to come up with things I think would be neat to share with you all.....but maybe I'm too repetitious......I will try to do better!
Please, I encourage you to leave comments if you want!
Just be nice..... :) LOL!

Stopped in at "Sanford & Sons" type thrift store yesterday (I kid you not....that's what it looks like) and found a few little treasures..... Above: This little "sugar bucket" was a freebie! :) I'm going to paint and "prim" it of course.....it's the perfect size for a small window sill plant or to use to hold pens and pencils by the kitchen phone..... The stoneware piece to the left is what first caught my eye as I got out of the truck......It was outside on a table.....got it for $4.00....has a teeny chip....but it has been glazed over....so I guess it was made that way......?

The next two pieces are marked "Williamsburg Pottery".....I got both of them for $5.00.... no chips or cracks on either of them...... :)

The mustard wood bowl was $1.00 ......it has already been "primmed" and looked good enough that I didn't do anything but wipe it off with a damp cloth......then placed it in the new bowl rack DH made....just right for it........

There's my treasures for that trip! It does seem as though I find the best treasures on the un-planned stops!! I will be back to this place again.......hopefully to find more goodies!

Hope y'all have a super day!

"Old Ball Jar Aqua" Accent Pieces and Egg Pics

Good Monday Morning!
Hope all is well with each of my blog friends today!
This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!
It's gonna to be a beautiful day!

Wel.....I took quite a few more pics the other night and thought I'd show y'all more of the eggs that DD and I had painted along with the other "old Ball jar aqua" color accent pieces I have around our LR/DR.......primarily in the DR.....hope ya likey!
I've long loved the old aqua canning jars.......so I just thought that color would be just beautiful done on other things.....then prim'd up just right of course! :)

DD and I have worked and worked on the LR & DR......we've moved furniture in.......out.......and around! LOL!! I will be posting the room re-do pics most likely on Wednesday.....so stay tuned!

I have a follow-up dr. appt. today......have to go add stuff to my booth in town.....I guess I'm finally going to have to go get more glasses......I broke pair "A" my cute Nine West black frames
last year.....then went back to the spare pair "B".......it was no time until they popped by the nose piece and they could not be fixed.....so I scratched around in the drawer and pulled out old pair "C"......well they were soooo terribly scratched.......but knowing the cost of new ones for me...$300-400!!...... I just kept wearing them......then, this morning I woke up and put them on.....only to notice I was looking through a smudged spot....took them off to clean them.....and yep, the frame portion connecting right to the nose piece snapped right in two....the screw in the temple piece had already stripped out Saturday as well!!!
I promise I am not that rough on glasses.....I have had to wear them since Fourth grade.....
Normally, that would have upset me to have my glasses broken.....I have very poor eyesight when my glasses aren't on and I CAN NOT function without them!
After realizing there was no way to fix them or swap pieces from my other glasses.....
I went scrathing around in the drawer again.....lol!

Well, I pulled out an old glass case.....reached my fingers down in the case and........ ta dah!

I found yet an even older pair "D"......these frames are huge!

Honestly, I don't even remember ever having frames that big!!
I laughed outloud......(everyone else still in bed)......cause they looked like Mr. Magoo had left them behind.....my eyesight is about like his too.....if you've ever seen the movie you know what I'm saying.....lol!!!

Yes, you betcha.....I put them on and was so relieved and happy I could see!
Now, I will find myself explaining to everyone I encounter today that these aren't my real glasses....hee heee!!
Guess I'm forced to go get new one's now.....I sure hope I can get some under $300.00
Isn't that just ridiculous??!!
It nearly makes me miffed just thinking about it.....but when I think about being able to "see".....
that suddenly seems like such a small price to pay.......
It's all in how you "look" at things......huh? (no pun intended....) :-D

Thanks for letting me vent!
Hope you enjoy these pics!
Have a great day!!!

Have a blessed day all!

It's Been An Egg-stra Ordinarily Wonderful Saturday!

Hello Blog pals....I can hardly believe it's been almost a week since I've posted!!!
I've been super busy since we came home from our trip...........
DD and I worked for over two days getting the shop all back in order after hauling furniture and prim stuff to last weekend's show and some of it back again....
We got it all back into shape and decorated for our "Springtime in the Backwoods" Open House
in a little over a week.....this will be our first spring show event.....
We've done three "Christmas" Open House's but never a spring one....
I'll have loads of pics to show you after the open house.....yep, I'm makin' ya wait!
We did a Potting shed theme on the shop's porch.....it turned out really cute....but I still need to do a little more "tweaking" before the big event.....

Today I kind of "played" for a change......it was fun and relaxing....
Crafting is such good therapy! LOL!!
DD helped me paint some paper mache eggs that I've had tucked away for at least 2 years!!
Then the ideas began to roll......these are just painted a solid " old Ball mason jar aqua" color I hand mixed for a couple cannery cabinets DH and I did.....the picture "color" is a little off...but it's close.....I think I'm going to stain over a few to tone the color down and then I thought I'd "flick"
that is a technical term by the way.....dark brown paint specks on a few others.....
We saved a few to do in a "buttermilk" beige color w/ the dark brown speckles on them.......
We didn't get those done though......
I just goofed around with the one's we painted and this is what I came up with........

The incredible inedible egg (paper mache')........ :)

ABOVE: I bought this chick feeder at a farm store and it has been setting around (outside) waiting for me to do something with it.....
It was way too shiny for my Prim liking.....so DH did a technique that caused it to dull the finish and then we just left it outside practically all winter to do whatever it would.....
It has a f ew rusty spots on it now.....which I like.....and the patina is great!
I added some "grass", a few brown beeswax battery tealights a couple resin "chocolate" bunnies (I've also had for three years!) and then topped the little ensamble with three of our "old aqua"
eggs.....I'm so all about that color lately!
Wait til you see the pictures I've taken of what DD and I did to the LR/DR before and after our trip! I tell ya we've been really busy gals!!! More about those pics on another post!!
Tee hee......if Lisa from "Primitives From Above" can keep ya in suspense......then so can I!! :)

ABOVE: This isn't the best picture........but we put the larger size eggs in a "nest" of Spanish moss in the repro dough bowl on the sofa table behind our sectional.......
Notice that "old mason jar aqua" color in the apothecary drawers and the box underneath.....
I betcha you all already picked up on that didn't ya?!!
Oh, y'all are just too clever!!! :)
ABOVE: This is on our kitchen table.....do you all remember waaaaaaaay back in one of my earlier posts I had these red and blue ceramic grubby candles with a place in the top for a tea-light that I had purchased at GW for about $4.00 for a big three light one and the two smaller ones?
Well, in the center of the bowl is one of the smaller ones!
I took advice from several of you blog pals.....Carolyn....Char....and I believe there were others....if it included anyone else......I'd be glad to give you credit.....so let me know....o.k?
Thanks gals!
First, I spray painted them a flat chocolate brown......then I Mod -Podged them all over and mixed up instant coffee, cinnamon, cloves and ginger and patted it all over each one....
I REALLY, REALLY like how they turned out!!!
I wished I had more of them to do up for the shop.....cause I'm a keepin these!!! :)
Poo....I had one more picture to show you and I accidently hit something on this keyboard that
caused it to be deleted....ugggghhhhh! That is so aggravating!
Anyhow......what do you all think? :)
Thanks for stopping by and as always for your kind comments.......
I really do enjoy reading what you have to say....everyone of you has been so nice and thoughtful
and you just inspire me sooo much!!!
Blessings,

Primitive Show Bound!

Hi Blogger Friends!
I'm sorry I have been away here for a few days....
We've been incredibly busy getting ready for "The Gathering" Primitive show....
DH and I have worked nearly 12 hour days the last four days in a row getting all the furniture done that we possibly can....we've had such a great time working together and got a bunch done!
DD and DS have been so helpful in other areas.....DD has helped me keep up with the laundry,
cooking and other household chores....she's been great!
I took her to have her hair trimmed and high-lights added as a treat for helping me soooo much! It makes things alot easier on me when someone is helping keep the house straight and meals prepared!
DS took her to Wally last night to do our grocery shopping and then I called a pizza in and they picked it up for our supper.....I'm so grateful for my kids and my DH!
I had "dictated" a grocery list to her while washing dishes....and they got everything correct and spent less on groceries than I do! I told them that they could now have the job! LOL!
The had it down to the brands we buy and everything!
DS even picked up a head of cabbage, polish sausage and some shrimp on his own accord to make us some gumbo soon....ain't that just cool?! :) BTW....Mrs.Molly...do you have a Mississippi Gumbo Recipe that you'd share with my boy?!!) He's such a FOODIE !
He's about 6ft. tall, husky, a hard working, farm-raised young man that works five days a week in a machine shop.....and he absolutely loves to cook!
We came in about 5:30 this afternoon from driving over 120 miles round trip to set up for the show and our DS was outside in the sleet and snow splitting firewood to put in our woodstove......we were nearly out and it's been snowing since later
this afternoon and I would say we have a good 2-3 inches on the ground right now.....
Sure hope the roads are clear in the morning......we have to leave out early with another load
of furniture in our little trailer.....say a prayer for us to have safe travels....thanks!
I have sooooooo many pictures to show y'all of what we've built!!
I hope to get some show pics of all the great vendors and beautifully decorated booths to add to our Picture Trail site when I get home......probably will be Sunday after church before I can get them loaded on here......
I'm not even sleepy.....but I know I have got to go to bed.....I must be running on "nervous" or
"hyper" energy......I think these meds must really be something too....I've had a big surge of energy since those shots at the dr.'s........right when I needed it most too! LOL!! :)
I'm just very thankful that I feel SO much better than what I have for weeks......no honestly, even months.......Praise the Lord for that!

I sure hope we have large "BUYING" crowds at the show these next two days...... : )
Hoping everyone does well.....
I'm hearing DH on one end of the house sawing logs.....and DS on the other end building a log cabin with his!! LOL!! Too Funny!
Stereo surround snoring!! LOL!!!
Now if all the dogs would start barking about the time my head hits the pillow.....it will be complete.... :) Boy 5:30 is going to come quickly!
Well, until the next time.....I hope you all stay safe, happy and well!
Take Care,
Backwoodsprim

Busy Bees and Kitty "Privy" Cover

Morning Bloggers!
Wow! Woke up this morning to the most beautiful green pasture fields!
We had a pretty good thundershower late yesterday afternoon.....
It was like "liquid green" fell from the sky the way things look this AM....
Spring is coming!! I love it!
The sunny is shining today and the birds are happy about it too! LOL!!

We are busy as bees in the woodshop today......
DH and DD gone to the Amish to buy more lumber......we've used all our boards.....and
still have much more to do.......can't sell it if you ain't got it! Right?
Oh, the picture is of a kitty litterbox cover-up DH made.......
He said he sure never thought he'd be making cat-box covers in his life! LOL!!
DD wanted him to make her kitty one to cover the unsightly big blue box......
Then one of our customers saw it and wanted it.....so we fixed it to sell and he will make another
one for us.....sometime.... :)
The lid lifts up in order to pick the box up for cleaning.....
Customer loved it!

Well, I have got to get back to painting.....before DH gets back and sees I've been goofing!
Hope each of you is having a blessed day!
God loves you!

Prim Eye Candy

A Goooood Saturday morning to ya!
I am so grateful to say........I'm feeling much better! PTL!!!
We really kicked some tail yesterday in the shop!
I went out this morning and took pictures of all we got done yesterday, but I'm only going to tease y'all with a couple of pics at a time......LOL!!! Is that mean or what!!?
This is the table I posted last time......I think it turned out pretty sharp.....
We got another side table finished, a wardrobe type piece, and the custom cannery cabinet all
finished for a customer.......oh it's a huge piece and it turned out gourgeous!!!
Don't worry I'll show it to you soon!
We are going to call her today and let her know it's ready for her to pick up......
Next to go in the paint booth is a "settle" bench.....I believe I'm going to ask DH to paint it a "Buttermilk" color.....that color looks good with the "primming" over the paint.....really makes it have a lot of character and look aged......hope it turns out like I plan..... :)
What a beautiful day it's supposed to be here!
Weather forecast is SUNNY and 74 DEGREES!!!!
OH YES! I love the sound of that!!!
I was walking around doing my "flower bed check" the other day and saw many new "signs of life" coming up through the ground!
It never gets old seeing that miracle, year after year......New Life.....
I thank the Lord for all He's done for me and my family......and 15+ yrs. ago, when I repented of my sins and asked Him in my heart.....He gave me "New Life" too!!!
He'll do the same for YOU too!
Well, DH is wanting me to go take a morning stroll with him........
So, I guess I'd better get off of here and go with him...
He's also in a cooking mood.....we're going to smoke some chicken legs and wings and then
fry them and make them up hot wing style! Yummy!
He's called our two neighbor/friends to join in.....so there's no telling what else they'll end up
putting on the grill........Run kitties!!! JUST KIDDING!!!
Oh, that reminds me......lol! DH had a service call yesterday.....it was for a food service truck behind a Chinese Restaraunt.....I love the food alot.....but we have a little family humor about
"meows" and Chinese food...... :) DH said he could not fix the poor guy's problem with the truck.....he couldn't communicate with him much......a husky redneck mechanic/farm dude and an oriental guy.....lol! How hysterical! He said the guy was really nice.....he just couldn't get him to understand what was going on......so he was making "it's broke" signals with his big ol' rough mechanic hands while saying "it's broke!!" "I'm sorry I have nothing to help you fix it"
He said the truck was in very bad shape and it was a foreign make.....no parts around here for it...
He'd never even heard of the brand truck before and he's been a mechanic for
over 25 years!
I was joking with him about what was in the truck.....lol!
Did you hear meowing??? He said no, but he said there was a guy in the kitchen part fixing hot
wings......a huge container of hot wings soaking in sauce......I asked if he was sure they were wings!!???? :-O
Anyhoo.....I'd better go!
Have a wonderful day all!

Unusual New Table And Went To The New Doc

Hi Ya Blog Pals!
I've been out of comission for a few days....but glory to the Lord, the new doc and a big bad bunch of meds...I'm beginning to feel LOTS, LOTS better!...Hooray!!
Here's a table that DH made that is still waiting for me to finish......I did start to get i t painted (black)and then was feeling so poorly.....I just didn't have the energy to finish it....
DH did get the rest of the paint on it....but I want to do some distressing to it and stain the top.....
I just think it's the coolest thing.......I had seen one in a magazine awhile back and had mentioned to DH that he should try to build one for the show.....he said he thought it was just plain funny looking, but he'd give it a try.....I had one request, that he please not use anything "modern" like a big shiny bolt to use for the swivel piece. No, no, no........
Once again he came up to the challenge and get this......surpassed what I expected...... :)
He carved out wooden pins to use for the swivels......Isn't that cool?!!!
He said next time he built one he was going to make the seat part have a lid that lifted for a storage area......hmmmmm....good idea....I'm all for places to put more stuff! LOL!
Can't imagine any gal not wanting more storage space!!
Oh, DH came up with the nifty design on the bottom part too.....I thought it was very nice and complimented the table well.....

O.k. there's the table.....now without going through the entire spill......but I probably will.......lol!
Here I go about this afternoon's doctor visit........
I went to a local doctor today in search of help to get well from this awful stuff I've had for weeks even going on months now.......and to get established in hopes of locating a family physician.....after talking to LOTS of friends and folks that I know, I went to give this DR. a try today......he came highly recommended by at least 6-8 people that (I value what they say) I spoke to about him......
Well, I feel like it's an answer to a long time prayer!
I was rather impressed!
He was very, very kind and said I was quite sick.....I have alot of infection and bronchitis to start with.....my BP was up way more than what it should be and he was concerned about getting that lowered....right away......
I just can't explain to you how well he listened, and how kind he was.....did I say kind??? lol... :)
I went over some other things I've had issues with and he said we would work on them one by one.....the main thing was to get me better from this respiratory stuff and to get my BP down to a better level......then we'd work on these other things.....gradually......
He said (in his foreign accent) "you don't go right in and clean up house first by vaccuming and mopping the floors, until you pick up the papers, straighten the pillows and tidy up things first"......LOL!!
He made perfect sense to me......I told him I was trying not to bombard him with all I had going
on....but it had been probably close to 17 years since I'd had a regular doctor for anything....
Until lately, I hadn't been that sick to need one thankfully......then for the longest time we didn't have insurance......so I just slid things to the back burner and toughed the other stuff out.....
He was sooooo......KIND, he said that he'd be very glad to be my dr. and do his best to help me with these things in order to help me (as well as he would for all his patients), to have improved health if it's where he could.....he also said something about the Lord being the only One that controlled the "Quanity" in the length of life one lived.....but he hoped to help his patients improve their "Quality" of life by being a doctor they could put their trust in to help them"......well it was something like that!
That just spoke VOLUMES to me! :)
Anyhow...........I got two shots at the dr.'s office and a boat load of meds....I go back in two weeks....but he and his staff said if I weren't much improved by Monday to call back and if I needed anything at all before then....they ALL encouraged me to call the office......they were really.....I'm not going to say that word again......so I'll say.....precious! They were all just precious! :)

Sorry for going on and on......my DH said I was just talking "a mile a minute" ever since I've been home.......
Must be these new meds making me a bit "babbley" LOL!!
I'm so thankful the Lord allowed me to find a good doctor right near home...... :)
Thank you for those of you that pray and have been praying for me and encouraged me to get to the dr......
I'm feeling better already!

Take Care All,
Backwoodsprim

It's March!!...Already???!!!!

Well, where did February go?!!
I can't believe March is already here!
It seems like I've spent much of the last few weeks.....being sick.... :(
I had tried after my last post to contact a dr.'s office to get an appointment......
I have to REALLY be sick and have tried all I know to do before I'll go to a doctor.....
Well, the lady that answered the phone said, "The Dr. isn't seeing "new" patients until March 4th".......Wah? That's like a week away from when I called! "What about his brother"? I asked, "Isn't he a pretty good Dr. too?" At which she replies, "He's out of town for three weeks".....
Oh my goodness! I thought....this is ridiculous!
Anyhow.....I made the appt. still trying to figure out what I could do sooner........my other alternatives were to go to the ER and sit, sit and sit some more..... in a tiny room.....breathing everyone else's air.......and just waiting to see what other germs I might be able to pick while I was there, or drive 40 miles.......one way......(uphill....barefoot...in the snow...lol!).....to a medical care type clinic to repeat a similar scenario to the ER one....OR try to locate another DR........OR just keep taking the meds, keep praying and just try to tough it out......
Well, I opted to do the latter......it sure hasn't been easy.....
I have had a TERRIBLE cough for days.....my head was staying plugged most of the time....it hurt so bad behind my eyes it's painful to shift them and look around......
At night I would wake up (did this three nights in a row....not lastnight though PTL!) absolutely freezing and shaking all over.....I would be so restless I could not go back to sleep so I'd go take the hottest shower I could stand.....then off I'd go to the recliner......the nightly routine.....and fall asleep for a couple of hours to wake up sweating........
About the third night of this happening I was seriously beginning to question if I had something else going on......causing my body temp. to go haywire.....I checked my temp. at one point and it was 97.3 and I was perspiring!???
DH said as congested as I've been both head and chest.....he felt I was just trying to "sweat out" all that sickness......but if I thought I needed to do something else we'd do it......
I said I did't feel sick to my stomache, didn't feel dizzy or hurt anywhere......just felt "poopy".......

Anyhow......DD had a big archery meet early yesterday morning and I wasn't up to getting out in the rain/sleet to go with them.....so DH took her....he had also taken her bowling Friday afternoon with a group of kids and then the group wanted to go out for pizza afterwards.....
My DH has been great with helping out with all the places DD had to be this weekend..... :)
Go DH!! You rock!!
Since I was homebound...........I thought I'd try to do a little picking up in the house.....I managed to make our bed, washed the dishes that were in the sink & did a couple loads of laundry.......after that my energy was pretty much zapped again......
Then, I got a phone call from a couple of ladies wanting to come to the shop later in the afternoon to look at some furniture....although part of me was thrilled to have customers.....the other part was whimpering....because I still felt lousy and knew the shop needed a good bit of tidying up and some new things I've added hadn't been priced yet.....so, I had DD drag the vacuum over and I ran it through the shop, added a berry garland here and there, my DH lit a Blueberry Cheesecake candle & helped me hang a few more prints & DD swept the leaves and debris off the front porch and helped me turn all the little lights on.......my family is such a blessing!
After that, I decided it would be in my best interest to rest awhile so I managed to take a lil' nap for over an hour and a half.....then I got up...fixed my hair and put some presentable clothes on and went over to the shop.....I felt much better after that nap!
Well, the customers came and after much discussion between themselves and looking through my binder with furniture ideas......she started looking at this piece (below)......
It has a lid that lifts there where the basket and crock print are......
She didn't buy this piece but, we really believe she wants one built like this with some modifications......DH has to sit down with all the dimensions and extras and get her a price figured.....she was extremely excited that something started to come together about what she wanted....her's is going to be done in an aged white-washed look.....with and additional shelf located about 10 1/2" below those three drawers.....she collects the Willowtree figures.....
It will go in a "cubby" area in her kitchen.....where a freezer was.....so she wanted something
with storage too....the area under the lid that lifts up is going to be used for extra table linens and such.....the space underneath w/shelf.....would be great for tall pitchers, extra dish sets, serving platters and such that you wouldn't use everyday........
This is the second custom piece we are building since this one......the first is the one that has to be finished by the end of this week.......it's wider and much deeper than this piece and has 17" doors at the bottom.....it will be the same color (custom mixed....by me...in a Folger's Coffee Can :)) as the one below..........

It's pretty windy and cold out, I thought I should give it one more day of staying home.......been here since TUESDAY!!!!!
I thank the Lord I do finally feel like I'm getting better......lost about 6lbs. in the process.....(much more needed to go)I don't recommend doing it this way though......
I just haven't felt like eating....
It's not near as enjoyable when you can't taste it!
Thanks for listening to me babble on and on......and most of all thank you for your prayers and kind words...... :)

Oh, one more thing....see how I tried (I said tried....) to somewhat duplicate what I saw in the print, in the grouping atop the cannery cabinet? I did it in about five minutes (under pressure and time constraints) :) (below)

Have a lovely day!
