new hairdo

last week i went down to waynesboro to visit
my good pal britt. shes a hairdresser in charlottesville
and at the end of my visit i went to her salon for a new
do. here i am before all the hair drops to the floor.

and after, i love my new short hair.
it's just so easy.

movie #6: the shining

we watched this last night. it was ok. it was WAY too long, in my opinion and the lady that played his wife was so annoying to me that i could barely watch her anymore after about an hour and a half. it wasn't very scary, but there were some really ODD things going on in this movie. not the best, not the worst. i give it a 5 out of 10.

movie #5: pulp fiction

yikes is all i have to say. i didn't like this movie
really at all. it was hard to follow because a lot
of the time you didn't really know what was going on
in the "big picture". it was basically about these people
who do bad things. it left me feeling gross and well, bad.
boo to pulp fiction. i give it 2 out of 10.

new pj's

my sister in law natalie sent me these awesome pjs. they started as a joke last year when she found some at costco and my brother hated them soooo much. i was out visiting and we took a trip to costco to get me a sweet pair of these grandmaish pjs so we could doubly annoy him. well, i guess costco got a new design in cuz a couple weeks ago i received these in the mail. here's to a grammyish night of sleeping.

movie #4: the usual suspects

and the movie watching continues. last night we watched this movie. it was pretty good. i liked it a lot, it had a good twist to it. it was interesting and a bit confusing at times, for me at least. but overall it was a good, entertaining, get ya in the end movie. i give it an 8 out of 10.

movie #3: se7en

we are on a role. movie #3 was viewed last night. it was very interesting. unfortunately, i already knew the ending of this movie, but i still found it very entertaining and twisted. the villain (kevin spacey) was totally off his rocker. it was creepy and intense and i really really enjoyed it. it kept my interest the whole time. i give se7en a 9 out of 10. it was great.

brady and i dont consider ourselves
movie buffs. we just dont really get into
movies and in return havent seen a lot of the
"classics" or movies that we hear are SO good.
so we've googled top movies of all time and came
up with 24 movies that we are going to watch.
some include:
pulp fiction
gone with the wind
12 angry men
se7en
casablanca
its a wonderful life
to kill a mockingbird
terminator
hotel rwanda
crash
million dollar baby...

we've already watched 2 of them and ive decided
that after every movie we watch im going to give my review.



so first movie we watched last night was
12 angry men. i liked it. it was well done,
simple and interesting. i give it a 9 out of 10.


then this afternoon we watched monty
python and the holy grail. i have one word
for this movie. STUPID. i give it 1 out of 10.
and 1 is being generous.

run like a girl...again

i ran another race this morning. it was great.
it was an 8k (5 miles) and i had a goal to do it
in under 50 minutes. i wasn't sure if that was
going to happen seeing as how i've never
consistanly run more than 3 miles, but i did it.
my official time was 49:03. i barely made it, but
i made it and i ran the WHOLE thing. that's a big
accomplishment for me seeing as how i've never
done it before. i felt very proud of myself and was glad
that brady came all the way down there to root me
on and take pics, of course.

at the half way mark, feeling pretty good.

i couldn't believe my time and was happy
that i didn't fall like a girl this go around.

bad decision

eating this last night...

...did not help me do this today.

i had a very difficult run this morning due to my
poor food choice last night. i knew it was
probably a bad idea when i was ordering,
but really wanted it. never again. i just hope
my 8k goes better on sunday morning than what
i went through today. i do wish my legs looked like
this girls though. i can always dream, right??

blankets

ive been working on this blanket for awhile now
and i finally finished. i love the colors and my
fabric choices, but i am a little disappointed with
how it turned out.

i sewed in a about 25 pictures of brady and i, but
when i washed it they totally faded. i should have known.
some of the pics faded so much that it just looks like a
white piece of fabric. oh well, lesson learned. this
is one of the better pictures on the blanket.

his white water rafting trip and he was so excited.

apple pickin'

another fun time was had this year at the
apple harvest festival. we were real life farmers
pickin' the apples and dodging the people.i've never seen it so crowded as it was today,but we still had a great time.

my favorite

here it is. october first. the beginning of my favorite month. i love the changing leaves, pumpkin bread, the cool nights, the smell in the air, and pumpkins, especially these ones. welcome welcome october, i love you!!!!
