Fun Weekend

Sorry I haven't been blogging for awhile! Busy summer, one of the kids always seems to be on the computer and I'm just too dang tired once they go to bed!

Ok, now that my lame excuses are out of the way...

I had a fun long weekend! Wedensday night we went to fireworks in Bountiful for Pioneer Day. Brent had Thursday and Friday off from work, so Thursday we took the kids to the Pioneer Day festival in Bountiful. That night we went to some friends' for a potluck dessert-fest with neighbors. The girls sat around, chatted and sprayed mass quantities of bug repelant while the guys and kids lit off fireworks. Seriously, they had sooo many and their "show" lasted forever. It was very loud and the dads were so into it. They're all pyros as far as I'm concerned! The projector was set up for the kids to have a big screen outdoor movie and we all relaxed and had a great time!

Emily-my gorgeous, fun, talented friend (did I get that right Em?)-took pictures of my cute Owen Friday morning. He talked nonstop but was fairly cooperative. I haven't had his pictures taken in forever and I'm sure they'll turn out cute, so thank you Emily! Then Emily (same fabulous, gorgeous one!) and I went shopping the rest of the day to look for decor/furniture for my house. We didn't buy too much (did get a very cute rug), but got alot of good ideas and I think we're on a roll now. She and her husband even came over to measure and move furniture that night! So nice!

Saturday night we had a date night with friends for dinner, potterybarn kids, and dessert-good times!!

Monday night for family night we took the boys to a Real soccer game (pronounced ree-al)-thank you Ratchfords! They won 2-1! My kids loved it, especially Eli (no surprise) and Garrett (surprise). Eli was sad for the losing team and got upset whenever the Real fans boo'ed them. By the end he wished Toronto had won because he felt so sorry for them. Brent was slightly appalled at Eli's lack of competitiveness but I thought it was sweet. I love that boy's tender heart.

Pioneer Parade

We had a pioneer bike parade for a primary activity. All of the kids decorated their bikes and scooters, dressed up rode around the neighborhood. Then they played pioneer games in the park. Luke was loving it! I think he did about 10 laps on the parade route and ate 50 popsicles.
