Getting all four to pose for a picture was impossible.
Bryan and Rob took the kids for a hike (aka bear hunt). If you look close you can see a red blur in the trees. I believe that was Rob.
The kids helped Uncle Steve carry firewood from his truck.
Blake loved helping.
I love this dance of joy that Steve is doing as he and his friend Wilkie continued to place wood on the fire. At least we had two firemen on scene in case anything got out of control.
This is Blake being attacked by Aunt Cami.
I asked the girls to show me their scariest bear faces:
That stick is Blake's gun. He was hunting the bear.
The boys decided that the kids should have "boat races" on the river.
They all threw in their pieces of wood and then ran to the bridge to see whose passed under it first. This led to throwing in logs. Um, I think that kids just give men the excuse to act like boys.
After the log floating we roasted marshmallows and had birthday cake.
Happy Birthday, Kiki! Hope you had a great day. Love you.

Cabin BBQ
For Memorial Day the Washington Clan went to the cabin for a day of work, food and fourwheeling. Not much work was done, but we had lots of fun. This is Bryan's favorite feature: the sink that he carved out of two boulders for the half bath.I absolutely love the railing on the stairs!
Blake found a new love: fourwheeling. Thank you Uncle Toddy for taking him on so many rides.

The New Me
I got my hair cut during the first week of May. I was wanting a huge change. During the summer my long hair was so hot and heavy. I hated it around my face, so it was constantly in a ponytail. It is only hair, so if I hated it I could always grow it out again. I'm still getting use to it, but liking it more and more.

The Cake & The Party
Blake has been obsessed with "choo-choo trains" lately. So I decided to make him a train cake. I think it turned out pretty cute. This is, by far, the best cake I've made to date.Needless to say, he loved it.
It was tricky to keep him from snitching candy off of it all day long. And several times I found Sara and Blake playing "birthday party." She would sing Happy Birthday to Blake and he would sing along. At the end of the song he would "blow out the candles." He was so excited for his party. This was taken about 15 minutes before the guests arrived.
He was one happy boy as he opened presents.
When it came time to blow out the candles he tried, and tried, and tried. When someone told him to spit on the cake, he even tried that (ew). Finally, Uncle Jason L. helped him blow them out. The kids had fun choosing what color of cake and which candy topping they wanted.
This is his new bike from Grandma and Grandpa. Uncle Todd put it together while he was opening his other presents.
After everyone left, Uncle Toddy stayed to play a game. Sara was so proud of this "beautiful necklace" she made for him. He is such a great uncle.
