So You Think You Can Dance!

Deena, Madison and I went to the So You Think You Can Dance Tour last Tuesday. It was AWESOME! Deena and I took an impromptu trip to California 2 years ago to see the tour, but this year they came to Utah! We are huge fans of the show, and this year was a really great year. I had so many favorite dancers and dances.

Will, Chelsie, Twitch and Courtney

Gev and Chelsie (We sat right behind Chelsie's family)

Will and Courtney- one of my favorite dances and my favorite dancers!!!

Twitch, Mark, Will, Joshua, & Gev

The crazies!

The show was about 3 hours long- Madison ended up falling asleep- she was exhausted. But we had so much fun. I didn't see all of my favorite dances, but I loved all the dances. They had some new ones too that were fun to see as well. It is just amazing seeing them live, because you can actually feel the emotion of the dancers. I think we will definitely need to make this a yearly tradition.

Finally...

The pool at our townhouse was finally finished around Labor Day. Bryson and Brexton have loved going out for a swim, even though it is usually windy and cold. They never want to get out, because when the wind blows -they freeze. I am not a huge fan of swimming and since I am allergic to chlorine, I opt out and end up reading by the pool. They are trying to get a lot of swimming in before it gets too cold- but I guess there is always the hot tub.

Cats! Cats! Cats!

Last weekend I went to the musical Cats at the Capital Theater with my super-sweet friend Deena and her adorable daughter Madison. We had great seats and had so much fun. I have never seen Cats before, but have always loved the music. It was awesome!!

I coached Drill Team with Deena at West Jordan High School, the year before I had Brex and have been close friends with her ever since. She is an amazing woman. She is such a great mother to Madison, and the greatest friend in the world. I have learned so much from her. She is always sincere and one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I cherish our long talks on the phone, our hotel stays with her loopy on Ambien, our frequent lunch trips to catch up and enjoy good food, and everything else we do. She is the essence of what a true friend really is. What or who would we be without good friends? I never want to know!

A puppy for a day...and a very long night.

We picked up a puppy in AF for my brother last Friday, and planned on having him pick it up Saturday. It really is the cutest little mini-daschund ever. Brex loved playing with it, and would just carry it under his one arm- everywhere he went.

So the dog was great- and we put her in her kennel to go to bed, and she did. About 3:30am, I hear her whining, so I go to take her out- but she had pooped and peed in her kennel- I cleaned it up, take her out, and all she wants to do is play. I try putting her back in the kennel and went back to sleep. She didn't stop whining. By 5:00am she was barking. So I take her out again, and same thing- just wants to play. You have to keep in mind that I didn't go to sleep until about 1:30am- so I'm tired. I walk her and play with her- thinking she will get tired and go back to sleep- no. I block off our entryway and leave her kennel open- and go back to bed. She is still barking. The moment I get in bed Bryson jumps out and storms down stairs saying, "It's going in the garage." He puts her in her kennel and puts her in the garage. He comes back up stairs- turns around and goes back out to the garage. Then comes back to bed. He ended up putting the kennel in our car-in the garage, so we wouldn't be able to hear her. By this time (6:00am), we were wide awake and ended up talking and watching Law and Order. I was so tempted to call my brother and tell him he had better come and get his dog so I could get some sleep- but Bryson said that I couldn't tell him about our night until my brother paid us back since we had actually paid for the dog. Sad thing is, we were planning on getting a dog, but now we both think we will wait.

GO UTES!

We have season tickets to the University of Utah Football games. We went to the first home game of the season and had a great time. Brexton loves watching football with his dad. Bryson seems to think Brex's entire wardrobe should be Ute clothing or other sports logo stuff. I am not a huge fan, so I try to humor him.

Bryson's Testosterone Trip

A few weeks ago, Bryson, his dad (Bryce) and brother-in-law (Chris), went to New York, Detriot and Chicago for some baseball/football games. Then went to 2 Yankee games, the U of U Football game in Michigan, and then a Cubs baseball game in Chicago. They also got a lot of sight-seeing in as well. Here are a few pics from their trip.

I don't remember who this guy is. Bryson sat by him at the U of U Football game- so probably someone from Utah?

Even though they were really busy and didn't sleep much, they had a blast. I even caught Bryson talking to one of his friends on the phone saying it was better than his honeymoon in Hawaii- although he tells me it was almost as fun as our honeymoon. I'm glad that he had a ton of fun even though I give him a lot of crap about it (we had decided that when I graduated, we would take a fun trip or cruise- he was looking up trips last Spring and just kinda booked this trip without really telling me- so this was my graduation vacation.?.?. I'm not bitter at all, seriously.) No- I know that it meant a lot to all of them to see the Yankees play before they get a new stadium, so I really am glad that he was able to take this trip with his pops and brother-in-law.

Why I love Fall!

I love Fall! I have always loved Fall, and will always look forward to the Fall season! When I picked Bryson up from the airport last week, it was really windy and rainy- I told him I loved this weather and am super excited for Fall to be here. He asked me why I love Fall, and I said, "I just do." But these are the many reasons why I love it!

- HALLOWEEN!
- the smells- like cinnamon, pumpkin spice, autumn sunset, etc.
- the colorful leaves
- the wind blowing the leaves

- pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins
- soup, I love making soup, especially taco soup & cheesy potato soup (you know the one Deena)
- colder weather- I hate heat
- turning the fireplace on
- haunted houses (I am still a huge fan- even though Bryson thinks it's a high school thing)

- the smell of rain
- fall crafts

- thunder and lightning
- the colors; orange, brown, yellow and red
- good TV and new TV premieres (can't wait for Desperate Housewives to start- Katie/Kathy, Meg, are you ready?)
- baking (I love to bake!)
- wearing ear muffs
- reading- there is nothing better than reading a good book while drinking a diet coke, wrapped in a blanket, and listening to the rain or wind
- pumpkin patches and cornmazes
- crisp autumn air
- wearing hoodies
- fall decorations/Halloween decorations
- sunsets
- short days-I have always loved it when it gets dark early in the fall and winter
- shopping (back to school sales, black Friday sales, etc.)
- turning the heat on
- zucchini bread

- football games
- sweat pants (I really don't own sweatpants, but I am talking about lounge pants/yoga pants or any kind of comfy pants)
- long drives up in the mountains to look at the leaves changing
- deer hunt
- Fall Break
- raking leaves

- etc., etc.

I LOVE FALL!!!

A New Favorite!!

We were shopping the other day, and bought a few Halloween Movies- one of them; The Nightmare Before Christmas (it just came out again- something about being digitally remastered or something). To be honest, I had never seen this movie before, but I LOVE IT! It is so cute- and if you don't know me, Halloween is by far my favorite holiday! Brexton really enjoyed it as well. Now I have to order The Corpse Bride, and hopefully it is as cute as this one.
