Dancing Pig ~ Ai Sequin Challenge

Have you played along with our current challenge at Art Impressions yet?

I was so excited to see that the challenge was to use "sequins" on your card.

Here is my take on this challenge.

(COPICS USED: C3, C5, C7, N0, N1, R20, R46, RV23, E15, E37)

I decided to create a sequin shaker card for the challenge.

I used the Dancing Pig image along with the Hog Wild Birthday sentiment. I colored the image using copic markers and then I paper pieced her little tutu.

Supplies Used:
Paper: Neenah Solar White, BasicGrey Highline
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Stamps: Art Impressions Dancing Pig
Misc: Crate Paper Frame, Glue Pen, Pop Dots, Sequins

hello friend ~ STS#23

Time for a new sketch challenge over at Seize the Sketch and this weeks sketch was created by Lee Ann.

Meet sketch #23!

This was a great sketch to work with and my card came together rather quickly once I figured out what to use. That is sometimes a process in itself.

I had the butterfly, oval cut and hello sitting on my desk in my diecut bowl so it was a matter of just picking some papers to match the butterfly.

I used some new to me papers by BasicGrey from the Hghline collection. That hello die cut was originally white, but I did some watercoloring with my Persimmon distress marker and then added some pink color using my watermelon gelato.

Make sure you stop over at the Seize the Sketch blog and check out what the design team created with this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

You should have arrived here from Melissa's blog.

I used the new Ai People Crazy Cat Set (SC0652) and even though I am not personally a cat person I did enjoy coloring up this fun image.

Getting Old ~ Art Impressions

I am up on the Art Impressions blog today sharing a card I created.

Meet Eunice
I love everything about her, especially those tennis shoes.

Of course I had to paper piece that outfit of hers and thought that star paper was just perfect.

I stamped the sentiment 'getting old' on some vellum and then sewed it down with my sewing machine and left the tails long for a little bit of texture on my card.

Hope you enjoyed my card today and happy stamping!

happy birthday ~ watercolor

I recently purchased some of the Art Impressions watercolor sets and yesterday I finally sat down and played with them.

I used Watercolor containers, flowers and foilage sets along with my Tim Holtz distress inks.

Not too bad for the first time playing with the stamps  don't think but definitely need to tweak it some.

Well that is it for me today, I will be back tomorrow to share another card using one of my neglected stamp sets.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Hello Sylvia

I am still working on inking up all my un-inked stamp sets and today I played with one of the Art Impressions Golden Oldies 'Sylvia'.

She reminds me of me only she is a much skinnier version.

(copics used: E000, E02, E09, E11, E13, E15, E18, R30, BG000,
R05, YG23, N1)

I colored the image in with Copics and then paper pieced her dress and pants using papers from the Studio Calico Lemon Lush collection. I then added a rub on from the garden collection by Pebbles to the vellum and stitched it all down with my sewing machine. Popped on a few sequins at the very last minute.

Surprise for my Sister

I have been working like a mad woman the past week trying to complete a scrapbook for my much older sister Linda and finally finished it last night.

I thought before I send it off to her in California I would share it with you here.

I used an old dictionary and photos that her daughter in law sent to me.

it's exhausting...

I am still working on inking up my stamps and trying to use them at least once.

I got a new shipment of Art Impressions stamps in the mail last week and just had to use this image as it so me reminds me of ME and my BFF Judy.

 l
(Copics Used: E000, E01, E02, R20, R35, N0, N1, E09, E23, E25,
E29, Y02, Y06, YR15, YR18)

This Laughing Set was such a fun image to work with.

I paper pieced most of the clothing and colored in the rest of it with my copic markers, I then added a couple strips of matching papers to the top and stitched them on at an angle leaving the tails long. Next up I added a flair badge that matched the design pretty well. (or at least I hope it does)

retail therapy! STS#21

You still have time to play along with us at Seize the Sketch!

Our current sketch was designed by Lori.
