Featured Stamper Sunday

So, I told you I would find a card in the Featured Stampers gallery so I could use this card I had already made.. SCORE!!! LOL!! Anyway, this is one of the samples I had made for the My Favorite Things release, and for once, I had MORE samples done then I had time to show...how about THAT!! I LOVE these new cupcake images from It's a Cupcake Kind of Day, don't you? Right now, My Favorite Things is still having their Guest Designer Contest...here are the details from our fearless leader Kim!!
Wanna Join the MFT DT??

Then play along in our monthly Guest Designer challenge! Here are the deets:
Do you want the opportunity to be My Favorite Guest Designer for December?
All you have to do is complete the challenge below and include “MFGD12” in the keywords and link your card back to this thread. You have until 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time Sunday night ( 11/9/08 ) to complete this challenge. The winner will be selected from the entries and posted on Monday.
CHALLENGE: WatercoloringWatercoloring is such a pretty way to color an image. Plus you don’t need to just use watercolor paint/pencils – you can use re-inkers, pearlescent watercolors, Peerless watercolors and more choices I’m not thinking of right now. Use a watercoloring technique on your project for this challenge.
We’re looking for original and unique projects, something that makes us say “Wow – that’s so cool!!” Please make sure the project you submit is a new one and not something already in your gallery.
As a My Favorite Guest Designer, the winner will receive ALL of the new releases for December before anyone else AND will be able to post early with the design team. We will also choose 2 “Ambassadors” who will receive the any pre-released mini set, plus $10.00 in MFT “cash”, PLUS they are invited to host a challenge during the next MFT Release Party!
Don’t forget to put MFGD12 in the keyword section and make sure your project is uploaded before 10:00 pm Eastern time on Sunday.
If you have any MFT stamps, please use them on your design if you can. If you don’t have any (yet!), feel free to play along. The judging will not be based on stamps used, rather on your execution of the challenge!
If you don’t have a gallery on Splitcoast, create one in our Forum
HERE!
Anywho, here is the card I chose from this ut, so there you go!! My paper is from the Basic Grey Cupcake line. I sweeks SUPAH TALENTED featured stampers gallery. Okay, so it is KIND of a stretch...but I usually only keep the layotamped the Cupcake three times, once on each of the DP's and once on Whisper White. I paper pieced the cupcake and layered it on Whisper White.
I then added some silver brads and spiral clips with ribbon. The colors on this are Barely Banana, Ruby Red, and Ballet Blue. I added silver brads to the corners of all the panels too. To emphasize the sentiment, I pierced a line underneath it...Super cute HUH!! Now you see why I HAD to be able to use it, LOL!! Yes, I know I could have just posted it, but what fun would that be. I promise to try to ACTUALLY be inspired by her gallery, tomorrow...to late to stamp now!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

An Inspirational SFYTT

I have a tiny confession to make...last night when I saw the Inspiration Challenge come up, I SWEAR to you, I went through every single item of clothing on the site trying to make a card that I already had made work....how LAME-O is that!! By the time I got done looking, I had spent an hour trying to find the perfect picture(this is what I ended up using) and ended up never finding anything that would work(for my other card, of course). This card I finally ended up making today...only took about 45mins...FIGURES(and also works for the Limited Supplies challenge, YEEEEEHAAAWWW)(okay, now I actually read the directions and my brads and buttons are NO NO's, so never mind, LOL)!!! With all that said...I am SO HAPPY with the end results of this card. I used a retired set from SU, Polka Dot Posies. I stamped my flowers with Pacific Point ink on Bashful Blue card stock. I then cut out around the flowers and added a Kiwi Kiss button in the center. I did thread some white taffeta through the button holes.....so cute!! I used Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon for the flower stems. For the base, I used Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. The DP is from the Kiwi Kiss patterns pack. I ran the white panel through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. My white brads are from Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts, and for the corners, I put a Pacific Point punched circle underneath them to make them pop. The sentiment from the SU hostess level one set "Best Yet", which was stamped with Pacific Point, was punched out with my SU circle punch along with it's layers. Of course, no card of mine would be complete without a spiral clip with various ribbons on it(all from SU). As you can tell from the title, this card was made using Jen's Sketch For You to Try too!! Well, that is it for me for now...I really need to get some stamping done today(and tomorrow for that matter), so WISH ME LUCK!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend(and maybe, just maybe, the FS will have a card I can use my card as a CASE for....yep, that's how I roll)!!

Some More MFT

Here is another card that I made for the recent My Favorite Things release. I didn't get a chance to post all the samples that I had made, so I figured I would go ahead and show one of them to you. This card was made using the new Annie Lapoint image, Geranium. I stamped it with Black Stazon on Whisper White twice. I colored both images in with my SU markers and then I cut out just the leaves on one of them and popped them up. The pot on the flowers is covered with Crystal Effects to make it shiny. I layered it with Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip. I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink and then added two spiral clips, one with RHR taffeta and one with Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon from SU. Both of the DP's are from the Bella Rose DSP pack. I added a bunch of piercing, silver brads, and more of the ribbons including the wide stitched Chocolate ribbon from SU. I am watching my nephew at my sister's house, so I wanted to post this ahead of time!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Punched Penguin

So, no one punched the penguin, and the penguin isn't made out of punches...but I did use the ticket corner punch on the corners, so it is a punched penguin( I know, my logic astounds even me, LOL)!! Why the fuss...well, today's Ways to Use it Challenge was to make a card using a corner punch, get it now? GOOD, I knew you would!! So, I have been DYING to get my Penguin Antics set from Whipper Snapper back out to play with, and I decided now that both the Paper Pretties and MFT releases are done, I would play today, no matter what!! I stamped the house image(wouldn't that make an awesome no layer card image), Penguin and swirl with my Black Stazon pad. The line separating the pond from the yard was hand drawn by me...which officially captures every bit of drawing ability I have in a nutshell, sad really. I colored the image with my SU markers, covered the pond with Crystal Effects, the roof and snow with glitter and the added snow to the trees with my White Inkessentials gel pen. I layered it with Rose Red and Bashful blue. The DP is from the retired Holiday Harmony DSP pack(that is the name right?). My PTI white layer was run through the Cuttlebug with my swirls folder. All my ribbon is from SU except the brown, which is from American Crafts. My nephew is here, and sorta cranky, so I am gonna go. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

An E-Girl Sketch

So, today my DH comes home from work and tells me that his aunt Amy's boss "knows" me from being in the Dirty Dozen and wants to meet me(or go to a party with me sometime)...how cool is that!! As soon as I heard that I immediately thought of this sentiment from the soon(within the next 2hrs) released Who's That E-Girl? set by MFT, I'm Famous Online!! Too funny!! Anyway...if you are here now, you should totally be at the member forum on SCS participating in the release cocktail party!! I used the new E-girl image, which I paper pieced and colored in with my SU markers. I layered it with Rose Red and Chocolate Chip. I used Chocolate Chip Patterns paper and Rose Red DSP. The ribbon is all from SU too. For the floor, I colored it with my Creamy Caramel marker and drew the wood panels with my black SU marker. I used today's SCS sketch challenge too!! That is it for now...off to the party!!

Prettie Wednesday-Score!!

If you are here for the hop, look at this card first then go to the next post...LOL!!! Seriously, I crack myself up,!!
Anyway, it is time for Prettie Wednesday!! Two weeks ago, Jackie Pedro(strappystamper), challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card with a scored background, and now comes time for confession....I don't own a Scor Pal or Scor It.....I know right??? So when it comes time to do a scored background, I struggle a tiny bit...but never fear, I worked it out(sorta). I used my Fiskars personal paper trimmer and my bone folder to make my score lines(can you see them there on the white panel). I layered it with Bordering Blue and Chocolate Chip. The DP is from the Chocolate Chip Patterns Pack and I added my sentiment( for the Worship Him set) to the bottom along with some silver brads, felt ribbon, and piercings. The main image is from the new Nativity set from Paper Pretties. I colored "Joseph"(really Cooper in disguise) with my SU markers and outlined him with my Prismacolor Cool Grey Marker. This card is way more simple than I usually do, but honestly....these new images from Paper Pretties are just too cute to overdo, if you ask me. They definitely speak for themselves.

So, have you been to the Paper Pretties boutique??? Well, if you haven't, you are missing the BIGGEST sale EVER!! Seriously, it is unbelievable....75% off everything but the swavorski crystals and Prettie stamps!!! What a deal!!! Be sure to get there fast, cause once it's gone, it's gone!!
That is it for me now, got lots more stamping to do for the release tonight and for some other upcoming deadlines!!
Be sure to blurf around and see what the other Prettie Girls have got cooked up for you!!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Welcome To The HOP!!

Welcome to the very first My Favorite Things blog hop!!WAHOOO!! Recently, Kim, the MFT lady herself, asked for suggestions from our loyal MFT customers about things we could do as a company to promote the new stamp sets OTHER than our cocktail parties(which aren't going anywhere, so don't worry). So wanna know how it works? I thought you would!!! Well, the hop starts at 12am EST at Kim's(the MFT lady) blog. From there, she will link you to the next "stop" on the "hop"....sounds like a Dr. Seuss book, LOL!! Anyway, if you are here now, and you haven't been to Kim's blog yet..GO THERE NOW to start the hop!! Be sure to follow it all the way through so that you can see ALL of the stops...there may be surprises along the way!!
So for my card I decided to use the new Cupcake Flopsey set.
If you know me at all, I love my animal stamps...and Flopsey is no exception!! Would you get a load of that GINORMOUS cupcake Flopsey is holding...YUMMO!! I colored the cupcake icing and Flopsey's ears with my SU markers and then paper pieced the cup part of the cake with some yummy Sweet Always paper from SU. For my card, I followed Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday Sketch. I added some Felt Fusion flowers from SU with some large and small white Bazill brads. My sentiment was punched out with the Key Tag punch from SU. The chocolate brads are from American Crafts and the clear drops are from Stamping Bella. I did a ton of piercing and added three silver spiral clips with some Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon, white taffeta ribbon, and chocolate grosgrain.
Well, that concludes my "stop on the hop"!!! Next stop, my friend, and one of my FAVORITE stampers, Joanne Basile!! Check her out at her blog- Just a Little Something...
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

For Ali...

I made this card for a girl named Ali. She is Laurie's (Lauraly) daughter and she has become very sick. Right now, she is in Seattle having some tests done to determine the best possible action to take. If you'd like to know about her progress, there is a thread HERE on SCS where friends of Laurie's have been giving updates. If you'd like to send a card to her while she's in the hospital (it could be two weeks or more), email me and I'll get the address to you. Her favorite colors are pink and green, so when I saw today's color challenge, I knew I would use it to make my card to send to her. I started with my Poppy Patch set from Flourishes. The flowers were stamped with Black Stazon on PTI white and colored in using my SU markers, reinkers and blender pens. I stamped the lower flower twice and cut out the flower to give it a tiny bit of dimension(also to let it slightly hang off the oval). My sentiment is also from Flourishes and is part of their Many Sentiments set. I layered the image panel with Pretty in Pink and Riding Hood Red. The horizontal panel is some Bella Rose DSP layered with Riding Hood Red and Pretty in Pink. Before layering it, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder to give it some texture. The other DP is Kiwi Kiss Patterns paper and it was run through the Cuttlebug with my houndstooth folder. I added a white organdy bow, gold cord, and some gold brads too.
Be sure to check back later for the first EVER MFT BLOG HOP!!!! How exciting!!! The fun starts at Kim's blog and you can follow the links from there, so be sure to go to Kim's blog at 12pmEST to start the hop!!

Prettie Tuesday

ETA: I ALMOST FORGOT!!! Paper Pretties is having a GINORMOUS moving sale!! 75% off EVERYTHING in the store EXCEPT for the Prettie Stamps and Swarovski crystals. Better get there fast while supplies last!!

So, I LOVED Jen's SFYTT so much this week, I decided that I would do it TWICE!! One of my FAVORITE stampers in the whole wide world is Laura Fredrickson(scrapnextras). Now, if you haven't seen her work, or heard me talk about her before, you must immediately crawl out of your hideyhole and check her out..she is AMAZING!! Anyway, Laura has been doing a post once a week where she uses all the sketches from that weekend(usually Lauren's, Jen's, Beate's, and Taylor's), and I LOVE that, but I was no where near that productive this weekend(boy am I happy that wedding is over!!), so I decided that I would use the same sketch and materials, just change the stamps and embellishments. I decided that it was time to ink up my new Sending MY Love Sophia stamp from Paper Pretties. This is a PEEK at the next stamp for the Stamp of the Month Club. Haven't joined the club yet? Well, you should!! You have until the end of the month to get signed up to receive this SUPER cute stamp a month before it is released to the public(in January). Just be sure to tell them I sent ya, kay!! Anyway, I used some more of my yummy Loves Me DSP and Jen's Sketch to make this card. I stamped my image with Black Stazon and colored it in with my SU markers. I layered it with Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose and Taken With Teal. My hearts are chipboard that I covered with some more of the DSP. I added a bunch of piercing, some cocoa and pretty in pink grosgrain, and some yummy teal felt ribbon from one of the SU ribbon original packs(long retired, I am sure). I have to say, I LOVE this new image from Paper Pretties....I love her tongue sticking out...too funny(cause I totally do that when I concentrate)!!
Okay, that is it for me now...be sure to check back later for my take on the color challenge...if I ever get to play!!

Day Two- Another MFTeaser for You!!

So, when I saw the new sets for this My Favorite Things release, I was GIDDY!! I have been trying to find a cupcake set that I liked, but wasn't having any luck. I sorta liked a few different ones, but NONE as much as the soon to be released, A Cupcake Kind of Day by MFT. It features two super cute cupcakes as well as one sentiment. Totally ADORABLE, if you ask me!! I decided that I would use Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try from this weekend to make my card. I started with some retired Loves Me DSP from SU( I still have a TON of this, so if you need some, let me know, A TON I tell you!!) and stamped my cupcake on one of the pieces. I cut out just the cup part of the cupcake and then colored the top of the cupcake with my SU markers. The white part is Liquid Applique, to make it look more like frosting, and then I added some crystal effects to the cherry and the syrup part. I followed Jens sketch using the DSP, Close to Cocoa and Regal Rose cardstock. The spiral clips have cocoa and rose grosgrain and the other ribbon is white taffeta. I used some big white brads at the top and then smaller ones in the corners. and did a TON of piercing. The scalloped layer was made with my square Nestabilities, and I had kept seeing where Dawn(treasureoiler) kept piercing three holes in her scallops, so I wanted to try that out, SO CUTE!! My sentiment is from ANOTHER one of the new sets being released tomorrow night by MFT, Cupcake Flopsey-SO CUTE!!! I have another card made using this set, but I will post it later, since my nephew is yelling at me as we speak!! Hope you have a fabulous day!! Be sure to check out the MFT member forum for all the details!! If you would like to see all the samples from this release, check out this gallery!!
