Weston's Tonsillectomy

Weston had his tonsils out the week after Christmas. His tonsils are always huge and he has never been a good eater or sleeper so after a recommendation from the dentist and a go ahead from the ENT we did it. And man was it rough. I was not prepared for how hard it was going to be. He didn't have any complications or anything it is just a horrible recovery. He literally ate nothing for 7 days. I was syringing teaspoons of water down his throat while he screamed his head off. Miserable I tell you, miserable. It was a good 2-3 weeks before he was himself again. We thought he had apnea and he is doing better. He seems to be eating better and happier most of the time. But I will definitely think twice if we have another kid with huge tonsils. Poor guy.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. The boys were so cute Christmas morning as they opened their stockings. They were THRILLED with the hershey kisses and spiderman fruit snacks Santa left them.

Weston turns 3!!

Weston at age three. All of our kids are strong willed and determined, but at this point I would have to say Weston is our most determined child. Stubborn is really a better word. He doesn't forget anything. He is very hard to say no to...1) look at those eyelashes 2) He can throw marathon fits. He will forget what he is upset about but will not forget he is upset. Fits can easily last 30 minutes plus. I tried to potty train Wes a few months before Leah was born. He was not interested. You cannot force this kid to do anything. Then a month before Leah was born he announced he was done wearing diapers and literally potty trained himself. He cares about what he wears i have given up-- he wears basketball shorts and t-shirts in the middle of winter. And of course he won't wear a coat. "I promise I won't be cold, Mom."

Wes is a sweet sensitive guy but doesn't always show that. He smacks my backside a handful of times a day, that is how he expresses affection. He walks by and just slaps...it is pretty funny. He even does it to Grandma. Weston loves his baby sister and enjoys being bigger. He also loves Josh and always wants to be a part of what Josh is doing. Weston is very coordinated and can keep up just fine. He is very athletic. He likes balls, jumping, riding his bike, doing somersaults, and running as fast as he can. We love Weston. He keeps us on our toes and makes us laugh everyday.

This is the look he gave me when I asked if I could put mascara on his eyelashes...just to see. They really are amazing, lucky duck.

this is his new face lately, sideways grin or pirate face. He will come up to me and start talking to me about something while making this face and I can't help but crack up.

For his birthday he got some new basketball shorts and t-shirts. He also got his own razor scooter. He is really good on this thing.

Leah's Blessing Day

Leah is such a sweetheart. She gets mauled by her brothers all day long, but doesn't seem to mind too much. She is very smiley lately. We just love her around here.
