Meet the Design Team - Cassandra
Hey everyone today I want to introduce you to the first of our four member Design Team.
The first design team member to introduce is the woman who started this whole thing, Cassandra Sloan. I am so very lucky to have met Cass though an online card group that she will tell you about below. She has quickly become one of my closest crafty friends. I am so thankful that we are taking this journey together because without her none of this would be possible.
This is what Cass had to say:
April 2, 2007. This is the day my craft life changed forever.
I have loved crafts my entire life. I received my first stamp set as a child in grade school and have been fascinated ever since with scrapbooking and card making. I can remember making my own stationary as a child and trying to sell it for a quarter to my mother.
I had been officially card making for 3 years when I discovered Cafemom.com and the possibilities for creating a group of people who loved to create together and talk crafts!
On April 2, 2007, I launched card Makin Mamas. It was a place for people who loved to make cards and share them. It was a place to be inspired and talk paper, ink and rubber and share new ideas.
We became a tight knit group of moms and crafters. It is safe to say that each and every one of us has made lifelong friends and paper crafting buddies. Some of us have even been lucky enough to meet! A few ladies have gone on to do truly wonderful, creative things and have really advanced, and I am so proud to say they were a part of the original Card Makin Mamas!
I can honestly say that the group would not have gotten as far as it did without the constant support of my admins and friends, and now, my new partner in crime, Jessica. She has worked very hard and done a lot of networking to get us to this point and she is amazing!
Card Makin Mamas has come a very long way from the days when there were just a few of us doing challenges every week and learning all kinds of new amazing things. I sincerely hope that this new blog and group will be as inspirational to you as it was for me.

Challenge #12 sponsored by Some Odd Girl
Hey ladies, I want to thank all of you for stopping by. Today is a very special day. It is the "Official Launch" of the Card Makin Mamas Challenge Blog.
The winner of our last Anything Goes challenge will be announced on Monday, the 10th. Good luck to all the wonderful ladies who entered.
For our First Official Challenge we have a wonderful sponsor to share with you. Some of you may be familiar with them, and if your not, you should be. LOL.
Some Odd Girl is the place to find fun and quirky digis that I know you will love! Some Odd Girl was inspired by two great friends who are such dolls! They took one of my pencil drawings and made it into red rubber and that act of generosity spiraled into what you see today. I am a married momma of 2 who has a hubby who not only loves me but supports my crafting and my site as my IT guy. What more could a girl want? I am an artist born who started out with pencils then acrylics and now also scrapbook and am a cardmaker. I design things that I love and hope you have as much fun with our stamps as we do! We'd love to supply the winner with 3 freebies of their choice from our shop so I hope you'll take a look around and pick your favs!
The Challenge if you are up to it is:
Girls Just Want to Have Fun!!!!
Lets see those girly cards. Make them frilly, vintage, or sparkly, I dont care, as long as it's girly.
The random winner will get 3 images of their choice from Some Odd Girl. We will also pick our top 3 to get a special badge for their blog.
Let's see what the new Design Team has up their sleeve.

Challenge #9
OK ladies it is time for our 9th challenge. Apparently you ladies don't like sketches so there will be no winner from Challenge #8.
The new challenge is KEEP IT SIMPLE
So nothing too fancy or fussy this week . . . simple lines, images and embellishments for your projects. Let the image or sentiment be the main focus.
Here is a sample from me.
Alright ladies, you have until 11:59 on the 15th to get your Keep it Simple card in. I look forward to seeing what you ladies create.
