A Moment of Silence, Please

Yesterday was the last game for the 49ers. This always hits home with Jason.. and I'm not kidding! It's like we need to have a moment of silence or something when the niners don't make it to the playoffs! We did win yesterday, so that was a plus! But now we have to wait another 9 months until our team starts the new season. Jason was mad that I wouldn't put on my jersey for the last game.. but I'm telling you I'm 99% sure that it wouldn't fit over my belly right now! Here are my little 49er fans watching the last game and enjoying some snacks.

Is There An End In Sight?

So my doctor appointment went well... too well. I was hoping she would say that we can schedule an induction date or c-section date in 2 weeks, but she didn't. She said everything is great! The babies are still both head down, they are growing, heart beats are excellent, and it looks like I could carry them at least until 37 weeks, if not more. I told her how I was still undecided on a c-section or not and she says there is no reason why I would need a c-section at this point. She basically said I would be crazy to want to have a c-section with how well my pregnancy is progressing and how well Derek's delivery was. She predicts this delivery will be even easier. I had my ultrasound after my doctor appointment and this radiologist couldn't tell me the approximate weight of the babies like they have in the past. So I was bummed. She said she cant tell for sure and I would have to wait until my next appointment with the doctor to go over it. So it's good news that everything is going so well, but now I really think I have another 4 weeks until these babies decide to come! I can't wait until it's over!!

I thought I would take a few pictures of the 'temporary' nursery at my parents house. We really thought we would have found a house by now! I love the bedding because it's so neutral, black & white gingham with blue, yellow, green, and pink farm animals. And it was a steal! It's by a brand called Global Baby and retails for over $189... but I found it at TJ Maxx for $39! And a few weeks after I bought it my mom was at another TJ Maxx and found another one for $49! So I was able to get two for when we switch them to their own cribs! And I love that I can interchange the sheets to pick or blue or green or yellow, and it will still match so well. We haven't painted the room or done anything extra to make it cute since it's only temporary.... but since I still seem to have weeks left of my pregnancy I think maybe we'll paint it and make it more inviting and baby-like.

The Massive Bump & a Few Others

So this is going to be my last picture of my belly.. it's getting pretty massive! I'm almost 34 weeks now and hope I only have 2-3 more to go. I go to the doctor on Tuesday and also have an ultrasound appointment that day as well, so I'm hoping these babies are growing and measure big so I can either schedule an induction date or a C-section date... I haven't decided how I want to have them yet. But my doctor says it's completely up to me. Having a c-section with twins is the most common way to go. But as of my last doctor appointment, both babies were head down, so a regular delivery should be okay. BUT, there is a big chance with twins that you deliver one normal and the other turns and you have to have an emergency c-section. If that happens to me, I'll be so mad. So that's one reason I'm leaning towards a c-section. I also love the idea of having it planned out, no surprises. I guess I'll wait and see what happens on Tuesday.

We have finally decided on the name for the girl. She's going to be Jillian Sue. But the boy is still undecided. Jason really likes Curtis or Carson.. I'm not loving those too much. But I do like Curt. James is still a possibility. I love Grant or Graham, but Jason doesn't really like those either. I also love Zach, but again my husband doesn't. He is SO picky! Hopefully we agree on something for him real soon!

Jason made Derek a fort out of some boxes. He played in here all day yesterday and even ate his lunch in there. Such a boy thing!

Testing out his new bike. Derek hates the idea that he has to pedal on his own. He just wants to be pushed down the driveway.

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas this year. I actually didn't feel too good, but it was a nice relaxing, rainy day. I stayed in my comfy clothes all day! Derek woke up aound 7:30 and was so excited to see what Santa had brought. He got a Diego bike and helmet and his stocking was full of goodies from Santa. In our family we have a tradition of opening presents one at a time so everyone can see what one another gets.. and it makes it last longer. So we start from youngest to oldest. I didn't think Derek would be patient enough for this, but he was. I think he was so overwhelmed with all the gifts, that he got sick of opening them.

My dad and Jason put together an old train that my dad has had for YEARS! Derek loves it!

After we opened the gifts at my parents we went over to Jason's parents house for breakfast. Derek was so excited to see even more presents.

A quick stop by Jason's uncle's house...

We came back home and I had a nap while the rest of the family played with all the new toys and gadgets. Then we had my Uncle Ed and his family and Jason's parents over for dinner. Ham and turkey and all the fixings. I really wish we took more pictures on Christmas, especially a family picture... oh well. I hope everyone had a great holiday! Merry Christmas!

Christmas #1

Troy and his new bride Alyssa came down from Clovis the weekend of the 21st. Alyssa had to work on Christmas and Troy had to work the day after, so we had to have an early Christmas with them. We had a really yummy prime rib dinner and got to exchange our gifts. Unfortunately, I didn't take too many pictures.

Derek got Toy Story 2 and watches it ALL the time!

I think Bella was exhausted after all the festivities

Christmas Eve

We really don't have any traditions for Christmas Eve, but like a ton of other people out there, we decided to let Derek open one gift. Actually, we ended up letting him open three: pajamas, a robe, and a toy. He was actually very excited about the new jammies and robe, but he wanted a toy so bad, so we gave in and he got to open a helicopter. I think Jason likes playing with it more than Derek!

My parents watched Derek later that night so Jason and I could go out to dinner. Troy and Alyssa had given us a gift card to Outback Steakhouse, so we thought we would take advantage before these babies are born. I love going out to eat without kids!

Update on Sara...

She's here! She was able to fly back to Seattle and then catch a flight into Orange County. But she still wasn't able to go home to her apartment in Tacoma to get her belongings. I guess my pre-pregnancy clothes will get some use this week!

Please Come Home for Christmas!

My poor sister hasn't been home to Tacoma since last Wednesday, the 17th. She's a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines and had what was supposed to be a quick turn to Dallas. But when she arrived back to the Seattle airport on Thursday, she was stuck there. They have had such drastic weather the past week that the streets, the airport and planes have ice everywhere! They don't have the equipment to clear all the snow and ice that has accumulated. With that happening, so many flights have been cancelled and the airport is a mess!

Their employee parking lot is complete ice. It has a big hill and is completely not drivable! So any employee that is parked there cannot leave, and any that need to come park cannot enter. Anyway, she was able to fly down to California to see us Thursday night to Saturday. And when she flew back Saturday she thought she would be going home. Only to find out another storm was coming and the ice in the parking lot got worse... no one could leave. So she has been put up in a hotel, while still doing turns to Dallas. She is now in Dallas and it's being said that anyone trying to get to Seattle before Christmas is out of luck. We're hoping she'll be able to catch a flight to California from Dallas. The worst (and funniest) part of all is that she only had a suitcase packed for a quick turn... only a change of her uniform. No regular clothes, no toothbrush, no hair stuff, nothing! She's had to buy everything to get by. And it's not even her suitcase, it's a loaner because during this trip the handle on her suitcase ripped off! (I have to laugh!) So I'm sorry it's been tough the past few days, Sara! We REALLY HOPE you're able to come home to us for Christmas! Derek misses you!

Precious...

I just love this picture of my parents and Derek. They were going to a Christmas party last night and Derek was so excited to get a picture with them.

Our Rainy Day Schedule

As all of you who live in Southern California know, we had a TON of rain yesterday! More than I can remember in a long time. It pretty much rained the entire day! I loved it! But what to do with a 2 1/2 year old indoors all day? I don't know how people do it in places like Seattle or back East... do they have indoor playgrounds and more indoor activities to do? I'm thinking yes. Anyways, here is a recap of our day.

The flooded backyard

We made black and white cookies

... And drank hot chocolate

We took a nap... ahh, it was nice!

We watched Polar Express and had popcorn

Played in Derek & Daddy's fort

Walked to get the mail with Grandma when the rain died down

Fixed the ornaments on the tree while waiting for dad to get home (Genny, he LOVES his tool back pack!)

And then dad comes home and this is what happens... Starts off as an innocent walk through the mud

And ends up with a boot stuck in the mud (on the left next to his hand) and a foot buried in the mud

He came right in for a nice warm bath! What a fun rain day schedule, as we used to call it in elementary school.

The Hasses Host a Party

Last night we went over to Genny and Jake's house for a little Christmas get-together. Genny made some yummy turkey chili, and the rest of us brought a little something to add to the meal. We exchanged gifts for the kids only, which was nice. They were so excited to open their presents and I think they were all very happy with what they received! Derek got a Buzz Lightyear gun which he won't stop playing with.. and it is VERY loud! Thanks a lot Tawny! He also got a remote control car that he loves to chase Bella around the house with. And Hannah got him a Home Depot tool set that came in a back back. He has been wearing this back back around all day. Thank you to everyone for the great gifts! We had a great time, Genny! You always outdo yourself!

Ready or Not, Here We Come!

My good friend Genny gave me a book a couple weeks ago that I love! It's written by a mother of a toddler and twins. It has the best advice ever! She tells you everything exactly like it is without sugar coating anything! Which actually makes me a little more nervous, but at least I know a little more of what to expect. There are some really funny parts in it that made me laugh out loud... like the questions you get from strangers: "What kind of fertility drugs did you take?" Ok, are you kidding me? You think the only way you get twins is with fertility drugs! Then there was, "Which twin is smarter?" Again, Excuse me?? Or a question the author got when the twins were only a few months old, "Are they twins?" Her response, "No, this one is 2 weeks older!" It's funny how many unwelcome questions and unsolicited advice you get when your pregnant!

One of my favorite parts of the book is talking about how much your husband needs to step in, especially with chores around the house like laundry... which Jason isn't too good at! She says she doesn't think God gives twins to mothers with incapable husbands. I love that and hope it's true!

Anyway, thanks for the good reading Genny! Jason is even reading it now and it's such a helpful book!

Move Over Tiger Woods! ... Hardly!

So Jason has a new obsession/hobby. Golf! I never thought my husband would be the one to play golf. But a few weeks ago he went to the driving range for the first time with his friend Ron, and now he's hooked. The poor guy sucks (sorry babe, but you even said it yourself), but he loves it and wants to keep practicing. So if you read this Jake, HELP Jason practice! He was very impressed by your golfing skills. For his birthday he got some golf shoes and attire and today he went to play 18 holes for the 2nd time this week! He better live it up now, because when the twins come this won't be happening often! Anyway, here he is modeling his new attire.

See, told you he thinks he's a model!

Happy Birthday Babe!

Today my husband turns 32... wow! He feels like he's getting old, but I think he doesn't look a day over 28! I'm glad to have a husband who loves to work out and stay active! Anyway, I just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday and tell you how much I appreciate everything you do for our family! You never complain about anything and are always willing to help out when ever needed. I especially love what a great dad you are to Derek and I know you'll be even better to the twins. I love you sweetheart! This post is for you!

I love how every minute that you're home, you are playing with Derek! Teaching him new things or wrestling... just being boys! In this picture, they had just returned home from Home Depot and Derek got his own hammer. He was so excited to 'work' with dad.

Always smiling...

Spending time in San Francisco together

I love your work ethic! Jason does EVERYTHING himself! Including building a BBQ island at the Huntington Beach house.

Spending time with our naked little man

I'm thankful for a husband who always carries our heavy little boy when he's tired

I think he should have been a model... And he must think so too because he always poses! Makes me laugh!

ALWAYS goofing around with his nephews!

Feeding our son in a laundry basket...??? Only a dad!

I have so much fun with my husband where ever we are... Goofing around in Big Bear while I was pregnant with Derek

So here's to you, my very smart, athletic, charming, loving, but most of all, ever so FUNNY husband! HAPPY 32nd!
