Stone Soup Croutons, 1-8-25: In Waiting

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions selected from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

I also have a book collecting the best of my first year of poems. Click here to purchase it.

This past Wednesday, Stone Soup returned with an all open mic. It was great to be back and reunite with everyone.

Let's do this again next week when Jennifer Martelli is our first feature of the year.

I have house maintenance to look over today. Here is another fitting poem for January.

Thanks for reading.

An Anatomy Lesson

a great pairing of work by poet Paul Shovlin and artist Bill Wolak kicks off our Wednesday properly at Oddball Magazine. Glad you're here with us.

An Old Tale of Work Mischief at My Old Job

"Warm hand off" is a term that means (or so they told me) to hand something to a living person directly rather than just drop it off unattended. Makes sense. Nevertheless, when we saw this friendly reminder post-it one day, we all unintentionally do started doing our best Beavis and Butthead impressions.

A Moment of Comics

I wish the Brotherhood of Dada stormed the Capitol this past Monday. The Brotherhood steal Paris by way of mystical painting in Doom Patrol #37 by writer Grant Morrison, penciller Richard Case and inker John Nyberg.

American Haiku: Trump's Final Offer to Greenland

When I started my Sarcastic Haiku series, I wrote my first American Haiku. An American Haiku doesn't care about tradition, formality or history. it takes as long as it wants to make its point because America. You can read others I've written since by clicking here and scrolling down.

The event I'm going to is a John Coltrane tribute. I don't know much about John Coltrane except for his work with Miles Davis. So this week's set list will help educate me.
