OCC What inspires You?

Rock The Farm~Time for OCC. Our hostess this month is Laurie Schmidlin and boy does she have some awesome challenges lined up for us!!! For this week, Laurie is challenging us to an Inspiration Challenge. All you have to do is pick your favorite embellishment (ribbon, hardware, charms, flowers, etc.) and create your whole card around it! How easy is that?!?!?
We also have new addition to our team ~ please join me in welcoming Lori Boyd! Lori is so talented and will be a fantastic addition to our team so be sure to stop by her blog. And we also have a special guest designer Gabriela Divine - Gabi with an Eye.

Easy enough, where do I start...... This sweet Anya stamp inspires me but it's not an embellishment. I love my punches and I got a new one. I went to Michael's to get that awesome Martha Stewart heart border punch that everyone is using, but alas, my Mike's doesn't have it. My sweet friend Dawn offer to get me one from her Michael's, but those babies are expensive enough without having to pay shipping. Thanks for the offer Dawn, you are so sweet. ........ anyway I ended up buying this cute Martha Stewart heart punch, and I love it.

Does this happen to you? I hate getting on the scale, it is not my friend. Riley can't figure out why the chocolate's and cupcakes are showing up, he took off all his clothes....... When I use to have to weigh in for Weight Watches, I'd take off all the clothes they allowed, and my watch, earrings, an yhing to make me weigh less.

I also made this card for Frances' Hanna Stamps HSC53, create a card with a beach theme .... well Riley refused to put on his bathing suit after all those cholcolates and cupcakes. Hope this card is ok Frances, after Riley lossess a few he'll be back with his swimsuit.

Our Creative Corner Challenge is to make a gift card holder. I made a regular card with a pocket inside to place a gift card. Do you love my dog Pat? He is from Our Craft Lounge. I love how easy he stamps up, and he is so easy to cut out. After I cut him out I popped him up with pop dots. My pretty flowers are a Martha Stewart punch.

OCC Challenge

Today's OCC Challenge is to make a gift box or tag. I made several boxes that just weren't working for me and ended up in the trash. Than I started to panic that i would have nothing to post for our challenge. So I decided to go with a tag and put it on my card. Does my background look familiar? I redid the card I made on Wednesday, I just wasn't happy with it. Guess I'm not happy unless I have a ton of stuff on my card.

It's time for another Our Creative Corner mid-week challenge! This challenge is hosted by Julee Tilman, who wanted us to get a little inky with our Verve stamps. The challenge is to give your Verve projects a vintage glow with a technique called Vintage Values. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC.

Here are Julee's directions: Vintage Values How-To: Requires 2-3 shades of the same color of ink and a craft sponge. Starting with your lightest shade of ink, use a craft sponge to sweep ink from the outer edges of your cardstock inward as far as you want your glow to touch. Repeat with your next shade of ink, but only sweep about 2/3 as far in (so some of the lighter color still shows in the inner sections). Repeat with the darkest shade of ink (if desired), sweeping with short strokes, only about 1/3 of the way in.
