118!

Good morning! I imagine a lot of you celebrated American Thanksgiving yesterday and are possibly taking advantage of Black Friday. I hope you had a good day and good luck today! Here's the sketch this week, we're taking things square once again! And here's my take on the sketch. I'm still in Christmas card mode, especially now that we've had 20 or 30 cm of snow in the last week. I dug up some paper of the Christmas past for this card. I've also been on a bit of a fancy felt circle kick lately. Supplies:
  • Stamps: Big Bold Holiday, Take a Bough
  • Ink: Landscape, Early Espresso, Real Red
  • Paper: Ski Slope DSP, Chocolate Chip, White
  • Accessories, etc.: Pure Poppy Felt, Nestabilities Circles, pop dot
If you play along, feel free to leave a link to your card. I'm going back to Mr. Linky for a little while, so we won't have thumbnail previews for now. InLinkz has started to charge for the use of their service. I hope that doesn't stop you from playing along!

117!

Here's this week's sketch! This card was actually inspired by a cake that I saw. I used the basic colours and layout of the cake and built a card around it. And then, since unfortunately I didn't have much spare time this week, I designed this week's Fall-to Sketch around that card! Supplies:
  • Stamps: Floral Frenzy, Birthday Bash (Papertrey Ink)
  • Ink: Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf
  • Paper: Vellum, Spring Moss, New Leaf, White
  • Accessories, etc.: clear embossing powder, white brads, border punch

116!

Good afternoon! Here's this week's sketch. The main idea is to use something besides a basic shape as your main layer. So- circles, rectangles, squares, and ovals are off limits. Many crafters have a plethora of other shapes to use. I have several dies from the Nestabilities Labels collection, among others! If you don't have any label dies, perhaps you have a stamp that can serve as a guideline to cut around. I ended up using the Top Note die on my card. I've always liked how the perforated border looked. I didn't end up following my sketch exactly. Because I wanted to use the ornaments from Vintage Ornaments (thank you to PTI for making dies to make this set SO much more user friendly!), and they are quite large, I had to rearrange my elements. Once I finished my card, I realized it's not that simple. However, the sketch itself is rather straightforward and it got me stamping! Supplies:
  • Stamps: Vintage Ornaments, Inside & Out: Holidays
  • Paper: So Saffron, White, Sweet Pea DSP
  • Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Taken with Teal, So Saffron
  • Accessories, etc.: Top Note Bigz die, Vintage Ornaments die, Diamonds Impression Plate, Baker's Twine

FTL116 Happy Holidays

This is my take on FTL116.  I didn't have the shape as shown in the sketch so I used the Curvy Rectangles from Spellbinders.  I didn't have any small ornament images so I went with the one larger one.
Supplies: Stamps - Mark's Finest Papers Musical Holiday; Ink - Versamark; Paper - Mark's Finest Papers, Memory Box; Misc - Nestabilities, Gold Embossing Powder; Gold Gel Pen, Gold Cord, Foam Square

The much anticipated...

Here's the latest completed pdf of sketches. It only contains sketches 96 through 108. You'll have to wait a little longer for the next batch. I like to complete a page before getting the pdf all set up. FTL 96-108 Have fun! If you want the old files, simply click on the "PDF" label at the bottom of the post, it'll bring up all posts that have the other links.
