Congratulations Crafty Jean - your winner's code & badge will be with you shortly

Miriam with you again today with my top 3 and designer special mention of the August Texture challenge.

I have to say, I was totally blown away by the amazing projects that were shared for the Texture theme - it actually made my choosing very difficult.

Here are my top 3:

I totally fell in love with Alison's project.  At first glance it looks very subtle and vintage shabby chic, but when you look more into the detail there is so much to see.  I love the layers and textures created here.  Just beautiful.

This is such a textured project - and useful! Win win!  I love the texture on this vase.  And, as we slide into Autumn, it brings back memories of a wonderful Summer.  Just lovely!

I love the clean and simple look of this card.  However, when you look at it more closely you can see the wonderful texture created by paste and also ink.  The layers of colour in the flower compliment it beautifully.

Designer Special Mention:

This project blew me away.  The colours create texture alone, then you combine it with textile and different mediums.  I love the movement created here and even the added addition of the ink splats.  Totally amazing!

So, there you have it.  Thank you to everyone who joined in with the Texture challenge - it was great fin to create and even more fun seeing what you all created.
Miriam

October 2019 - Bokeh

Welcome everyone to our October Challenge.

Our theme this month is Bokeh, chosen by the lovely Sue. We love you taking part in our challenges so this month, don't forget Bokeh must be the main part of your projects to be in with a chance to win a £20 Gift Voucher.

Good morning and welcome to October. I'm really happy to be hosting the challenge this month, and I've chosen a theme which I love - Bokeh. This is what Wiki has to say about it;
In photography, bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light". Wikipedia
So now you know!
Anyway this is what I've made
As always there are a lot more photographs over on my blog so I would love to see you over there.
Have a very happy month (I turn the big 60 this month but don't tell anyone)
Thanks very much for looking, and I'll see you in a couple of days with my next piece xx

Hello Everyone,
for our October challenge,
called Bokeh,
I created a Christmas card with the Santa's Helper die by Tim Holtz.
If you like it, please hop on my blog where you can find the tutorial of the background.
Thank you!

Welcome to a Bokeh October! I really enjoy making cards using this effect and use it a lot in my card making. My first sample today is a floral one using some of Tim's Holtz' fab floral stamps.
I have a full step by step over on my blog here so just float  pop on over if you would like to see how I made my  card. I also have some of my own "bokeh effect" photos to share.  My 2nd project coming up later in the month will be a Christmas themed one.
Bye for now,
Jane x

Hello there - well I experimented with distress oxides and stencils to make my bokeh - I think I will stick with the plain distress next time to make my background!
I wonder how you will make yours?
More details on my blog here.

 Happy Autumn/Fall!

It was too early for me to leave the seaside, despite summer being just a memory...
But fog, and possibly rain too, await you on my blog in a port
that has all the hallmarks of British quaintness!

Hello and welcome to October!
It´s Autumn now and so I decided to choose an autumnal image for my card. I went out of my comfort zone and picked colors I do not use very often - but I really like how it turned out!
For more please visit my blog!

Can you believe it's October already?

An ornate mermaid

Good morning, it's Jane here today with for my 2nd post for our current "Under the sea" challenge. I recently returned from a week in Rhodes where we spent 3 of our 7 days on the beach in glorious sunshine. I swam each day and looked out for mermaids, but sadly they are obviously rather shy as I didn't spot any. So I decided I would create my own impression of what that scene might look like.
I used my Visible Image Mythical mermaid stamp set. If you would like to sea see how I created my card and also have a look at some of my beach photos just swim pop on over the my blog here where I have a full step by step.
You still have 10 days left to join in with the fun and perhaps be the randomly selected winner of the £20 gift voucher. Now that is worth getting wet for!
Bye for now,
 Jane x
