I used Lacy Sunshine Rory love letters image, coloured with spectrum noir pens  and mounted on to an offcut of red mirror card. The background paper is some I've had in a box for years - I think it probably came from PDA card and craft, but I'm not sure. The ribbon down the side is DCWV.

Let's craft and create challenge 110

This is my design for Let's craft and create challenge 110: lace and pearls.

The card blank is white (although the photo has made it look as if it is pale pink). The die cut cross is a Spellbinders die cut with a piece of matt silver using my new Todo. The circular stamp was from Hobbycraft, as were the flowers. Black lace from stash, pearls from Poundland.

I didn't have a long enough piece of the lace, so I used two snippets with the flowers added to fill the gap.

More mixed media 'red' challenge

This is my creation for this month's More mixed media 'red' challenge' - please click on the link to see the marvellous creations by the rest of the team and we would love you to join in our challenge.

An altered box lid - the original box was red with white spots as you can see at the side. I covered the lid with white gesso and then used mod podge to adhere a piece of the top later of a paper napkin with hearts. I used a Balzer's Design roses stencil with imagination crafts silver sparkle medium, then used a piece of sequin waste dabbing through the holes with red Colorbox ink. Ribbon, hearts etc were then added.

I intend to use this box for a Valentine's present for John ... although I haven't got a clue what I'll put in it!

Delicious Doodles Guest Designer

I've been privileged to be asked to join Delicious Doodles: love is in the air, as their Guest Designer. As the theme is 'love' I chose to use the steampunk heart image. I coloured parts of this with metallic pens - gold, copper and light and dark silvers, sponging with fired brick distress ink. The two background papers were from PDA (a long time ago) - I sponged the main background one with the fired brick. I embossed a piece of 7 gypsies collections from the journey with an embossing folder and then sponged with fired brick. I added a metal keyhole from The Works and the sentiment which was generated on my Dymo letratag.

The month of January often seems to drag on and on, but somehow this year it has gone quite quickly, despite being ill for most of it.

Sadly, I needed to make a sympathy card, so this is what I made to show for the patterned paper challenge, using four Autumn Archives papers, Penny Black sparklers stamp and Anita's sentiment stamp, both inked with memento cottage ivy. I made a folded swing card, using Hunkydory supplies, mounting the two image pieces on to scalloped circles that had been coloured with spectrum noir pens.

The photos were taken from strange angles to avoid flair from the flash.

I think the background paper  My Mind's Eye on to which I stamped the lovely The Stamping Boutique butterfly colouring with spectrum noir pens and adding the Poundland flowers where the printed flowers are. A piece of DCWV ribbon and the sentiment and the card was finished.

CHNC challenge 265: use a sentiment

For my CHNC challenge 265: use a sentiment, these are two quick cards that I made just before Christmas and didn't show. I fully intended to make something better this past week, but, because I've been really poorly all week, I haven't been able to do any crafting.

The backgrounds are from a Snowman kit, the toppers are Kanban, with other bits and pieces.

Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 114

For the background I used three papers from Bugaboo Stamps frosty digi papers layering on the Sparkle n Sprinke 'snow goddess', coloured digitally using Microsoft Paint (Sparkle n Sprinkle are the sponsors for the challenge), adding the mats behind the image and also the greeting panel.
