CHNC challenge 453

This is my design card for my CHNC challenge 453 -  please click on the link to find out what it's all about and I hope you'll be able to join in with your Christmas designs - anything goes as long as it's Christmas with the optional theme of 'something beginning with the letter S'.

For my card I used a background from a set of cards from The Works, plus some chipboard snowflakes from Poundland, a bauble tag from Wilko and a sparkly Merry Christmas greeting from Hobbycraft (sorry, this doesn't show up too well here).

My main 'something beginning with the letter S' is, of course, snow and snowflakes ... with a sparkly sentiment too.

Just for you

This card was made up of various offcuts which included the middle piece cut from a notecard from a set, with some chipboard scalloped circles and some other chipboard pieces including the sentiment. The piece of card across the middle with the sort of chevron pattern is silver foiled, although this doesn't show up in the photo. I love the colour combo of the lilacs and blues.

CHNC challenge 452

This is my design card for my CHNC challenge 452 -  please click on the link to find out what it's all about and I hope you'll be able to join in with your Christmas designs - anything goes as long as it's Christmas with the optional theme of 'embossing (wet or dry)'.

I used one of my newly acquired Crafter's Companion Gemini die cut and emboss folders with silver mirror card, mounting on to gold mirror and then on to the black card with the 'Away in a Manger' sentiment added from a Hunkydory set.

It wasn't easy getting a photo because of the glare or a reflection of myself in the mirror card - lol, so this is the best I could do.

21st birthday

This is a card I made for my great nephew's 21st birthday. Supplies are all from Kanban except the lettering and the numerals which were from Poundland. The backing card was bought many years ago ... a big bundle that stills keeps going - lol!. It's hard to see here, but I used three acetate wraps with sentiments, also adding the Happy Birthday.

R.I.P.

This was a commissioned card - I was given the wording to use - generated on computer and printed and matted on to black card. The background on the white card blank was randomly stamped with one of my favourite Penny Black stamps, sparklers, inked with memento grape jelly. The insert said 'with deepest sympathy'.

UR 40

For this commissioned card for a 40th birthday I used a couple of different sentiment backgrounds from Kanban with the sentiments. The car (request for a cab driver) is a large Sizzix die (one of the first I had) cut with black mirror card, adding cut out acetate for the windscreen and silver mirror for the lights with the addition of the number plate generated by my dymo letratag.

For a dog lover

I was asked to make a card for a lady who has black dog, much the same as the one I used to digitally put on to the scene, matted on to an offcut of mirror card. The background was created with offcuts of sentiment card by Kanban, covering the joins with the green ribbon, adding the sentiment ovals.

A strange request

This is a commissioned birthday card for a scaffolder - I was asked to incorporate scaffolding - I managed to find a free download birthday cake picture that featured scaffolding. Everything else was from stash - snippets of Kanban sentiments cards, snippets of washi tape to cover the joins.

Not enough candles

This is a card I made and sent earlier in the year for a cousin who is just six months younger than me ... I always tease about age, so I wrote inside that I was sorry there weren't enough candles - lol!

This was made with one of the Dots to Diamonds designs, colouring the candles with spectrum noir and adding the gems. The birthday greeting was stamped inked with Hero Arts ombre.

Spiderman for twin boys

Two commissioned cards for 5 year old twin boys using spiderman wrapping paper, tags and 3D stickers, with the addition of the numerals and the sentiments generated on my letratag to stick inside the tag which was attached with a brad, having the prongs of the brad covered inside by part of another tag.
