It's was a Fabulous Social!

Note: I wrote this post over a week ago right after the social. All I had to do was to take pictures of the three projects we did and insert them into the post. I FINALLY got the pictures taken today. Wow. Life with a baby...

We had an incredible time! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures taken during the party, but I have a few "before" pictures and a few pictures of the projects we completed. Enjoy!

The Place

The Projects

(this project started out as a 6x6 scrapbook page, but we all ended up changing it to this card instead...that's the beauty of paper--it can always be folded into a card! *smile*)

The Girl
(she was awesome by the way! she slept for most of the party, and after she woke up she was perfectly happy to hang out and get ready to cheer on the cats...who, by the way, are undefeated since she was born. yeah. we bleed purple.)

oh yeah, she loves this "taggies" dress with all the ribbons at the bottom :)

If you're interested in getting one of these dresses (she makes KU ones too...boo!), my mom got it from a lady who has a business called Homespun Crafts.

Happy Stamping!
Cari

Valentine's Day Patchwork & Upcoming Class!

This fun little "patchwork" card is going to be part of my 7 Days of Valentine's Class that will be on February 6th (just in time to give away 7 days' worth of valentines to that special someone!)--more details to come!

I was having a terribly hard time with this card because I'm not very good at mixing and matching different embellishments...nor I am good at using any embellishments other than ribbon! One of my new stamping friends observed that I use ribbon on all of the cards that I make. I told her, "No way!"...and then I looked at my card display. Of the at least 40 cards I have displayed, all but 1 card--yes, all but 1--had ribbon on it. Hmm...maybe it's time to branch out and use some different embellishments! So, that's one of my new goals this year--to use embellishments other than ribbon. Of course, I still haven't made a card without ribbon, but I'm at least adding some other stuff to the mix :-)

If you're interested in making this card for yourself, be sure to contact me to register for my class! I'm also offering this class through the mail, so please contact me if you are interested in that option.

I apologize for the late notice. My coaster class was originally scheduled for tomorrow night (October 28) and Sunday afternoon (November 2) in Manhattan. I have had to reschedule both Manhattan class times due to conflicts. The coaster class will be held on both Tuesday, November 4th from 7-9p and on Sunday, November 9th from 2-4p in Manhattan. Topeka Big Shot

I've heard through the grapevine that some of you don't know what the Big Shot is and you're scared to come to the class! My jaw is on the floor! This machine has completely changed the way I create! I'll do my best to explain what I can about this incredible machine, but the best way to understand this machine is to use it! That's why you'll have a chance to see and use the machine yourself this Thursday, October 23rd at my mom's house in Topeka. If you're on her mailing list, you'll receive an email soon with specifics about the class.

In the meantime, click here to see the projects I did about a month ago with the Big Shot.

This is the machine itself. It is a lightweight manual die cutting machine (it requires no electricity). It is super easy to use and can help you create beautiful shapes and accents for your cards, scrapbook pages, and home decor items.

This is a picture of the SU! exclusive Top Note die. I apologize for the low quality picture--this is the best my camera would do. Basically these dies can cut through several layers of card stock at one time to make bulk projects a snap (think Christmas cards and thank you notes)! There are two types of dies: Steel Rule dies and Chemically-Etched dies. The Steel Rule dies can cut through 8-10 sheets of card stock at one time, or you can experiment with tons of other fun materials. Here is a list of 50 materials you can cut with Steel Rule dies and the Big Shot. The Chemically-Etched dies are smaller and can only cut through one sheet of card stock at a time.

If you'd like more information, feel free to contact me or register for the Topeka Big Shot class by Wednesday, October 22nd.

Here are the three projects we'll be creating at the class on Thursday:

Mini Album (with room for up to 6 pictures):

Cute Gift Filled with Candy (perfect for ANYONE!):

The registration fee is only $20, but spots are limited! Email Cori today (cori@tfmwireless.net) to reserve your spot! Registration deadline is Wednesday, October 22nd.
