Drew's Blessing

This kid is so Judd/Cartwright it is sickening. Kayden is definitely Truman, so I suppose we got both of the family's involved!

Today we blessed Drew at church. Next week is our Stake Conference, so we had our fast Sunday today. There were three baby blessings in our huge ward that has new babies almost every week!! I didn't want to put Drew in his blessing outfit because we have had to change his clothes every week at church so far. We already had to change outfits once before church, due to poop. Then I forgot to even take the outfit to church and had to call Steve to bring it. So, we got Drew in his outfit and he looked so cute. He didn't cry at church except during his blessing, of course. Then not five minutes after he was blessed he pooped and Steve had to change his clothes. So he was in his outfit a whole 20 minutes, and we therefore have no pictures!

Thanks to all of our family who were able to come today. It is always fun to have the family together, even with all the craziness. I think that's what makes it so great. For all of the preparation, the blessing part is so short, I wish it could be longer. But Steve gave a great blessing. Short, and to the point, which is how us Dixons do it.

Drew, we love having you in our family, and you are such a good baby. You are also so cute and adorable, and my heart melts everytime you smile at me.

How do you sleep with 2 kids??

Well, Kayden still loves his little brother and always wants to be right by him, especially when he is sleeping. Not much to blog about since our weekends consist of taking turns getting sleep. Drew does pretty well at the beginning of the night but is then up every h our from 4 am on. Last night I think I got a straight 4 hours of sleep in a row! I think anyone who says their baby sleeps through the night after a couple of weeks is definitely lying. Kayden was not a cuddly baby at all, but Drew loves to lay on my shoulder and look around and sleep. I love it, but my back doesn't.

I regretfully report that Kayden spends most mornings watching Mickey Mouse and Caillou. Keeping Kayden from watching hours of TV is not at the top of the to do list right now. Thank you for TV and the Disney and Sprout channels!!

Steve and I got to be on a panel for a youth fireside on Sunday. The bishop had us answer questions about dating. Here is a summary of Steve's answer when the bishop asked Steve how he know what qualities he wanted in a wife:

I dated a girl from the time I was 14 until I got home from my mission. (I'm thinking, you don't tell teenagers you dated when you were 14!!) We talked about getting married and I had the worst feeling about it. So I decided I wasn't going to date her anymore and I was going to go out with as many girls as I could. (What was Steve telling these kids?!?!) So I Went out with a couple different girls a week and dated A LOT of girls. (I was just waiting for the bishop to stop him and ask us to leave.)

Anyway, Steve's point was that he had dated enough girls to know what qualities he wanted by the time he met me. The bishop hasn't called and asked us to come meet with him yet, so hopefully, we didn't say anything too horrible to the youth of our ward.

While I was pregnant Steve slept on the couch most nights because I snore when I'm pregnant. One night while I was laying in bed with Kayden this was our conversation.

Kayden: Me sleeps in my bed?

Mom: Yep

Kayden: Drew sleeps in his bed?

Mom: Yep

Kayden: You sleeps in yours bed?

Mom: Yep

Kayden: Dad sleeps on the couch?

Mom: Yep

Anyway, here's some recent pictures

Kayden always helps Steve clean his golf clubs. He even started putting his clubs in the garage next to his Dad's. The other morning Kayden went out to the garage, got his golf clubs, got a wash rag, got it wet, and sat in his chair cleaning his clubs. I can't wait until he can go to the driving range with his Dad!! (Sorry, I forgot to turn the pictures again.)

Steve got an early Christmas present and got season tickets to the UNLV basketball games. He was so excited when they came in the mail. He just sat there looking at them. So I will be having some lonely nights if anyone is bored come on over.
I washed the dog's pillow and made her kennel all clean and this is who I find enjoying it.
Kayden got blankets for him and his dog, Ralph, and they all laid on the couch by Drew.
Here's Kayden and Drew sitting in their chairs.
This is how we keep finding Kayden: with his diaper off. So this weekend we are going to try potty training. Heaven help us!!
