Callan had backwards day at preschool for the letter "B."
We had jack-o-lantern quesodillas.
Grama and Grampa Cook offered to watch the kids overnight so Tyson and I could have a date night. We went to Thriller at Weber State. I hadn't been since high school and Tyson had never been. It was fun and Tyson got a kick out of the zombie girls crawling around the aisles.
Tyson enjoyed it so much that I caught him watching the BYU game.
Tyson left at midnight that night for the duck hunt opener. I got to sleep in until 8 with no kids! When I went to pick up the kids we helped Kelsey and JD move into the Lloyd's house. Kelsey and Katelin did all the heavy lifting. I just took pictures.
We watched conference at the Cook's and waited for Tyson to come home from hunting. The boys loved playing with Uncle Trace's legos! And Fin had a nice nap on Kate's belly.
Fin got really clingy and whiney when I got there to pick him up. He felt like he had a fever and just wasn't happy. The fever got worse and worse over the next couple days and I couldn't keep it down with medicine. Of course it was the weekend so I didn't want to take him in. By Monday the fever was almost to 103 degrees and then it just suddenly stopped. Then along came the rash all over his body and I figured he had roseola. It was a rough few days!
Tyson took the boys duck hunting. They didn't get any ducks, but they had a blast! They caught some minnows to play with in the boat and stayed out way too late. Callan must have had one of his pant legs rolled up at one point because he got eaten alive by mosquitos! They both had a bunch of bites on their faces, too!
Fin got to wear his Halloween jammers and looked so cute! He started standing up in the middle of the room and even started taking a few steps.
He climbed into his brothers' baths twice. He is a trouble maker! And he loves baths.
We enjoyed lots of warm days in October! The weather was pretty much perfect! We spent some time at the park near our house. Easton mastered the monkey bars, Callan finally got brave enough to go down slides, and Fin laughs the entire time on the swing.
Easton and his friend Bo got to play in the sprinklers on October 20th! Global warming I guess!
We went to the zoo with Grama Page, Amanda, and cousins. The weather was awesome and these boys have so much fun together! Callan just wanted to see the tigers and the tigers weren't there that day! But they still had a great time. We rode the train and got a snack at the cafe.
Callan spoke words of wisdom while licking brownie batter: "I just really like chocolate. Chocolate makes me less sad. If I'm sad, and I have chocolate, then I get happy."
Tyson and Steve went on a trip to Canada to visit Seth and do some hunting. They had a great time and I was glad they were able to go! Being at home with the boys went surprisingly well. I painted the ceiling in the basement to surprise Tyson when he got home. It took forever! While the boys and I were doing some yard work outside, one of the neighbors drove by and informed us about the "fright train" at a park here in South Weber. The boys loved it! There was a cute little train that goes around the whole park and they had a few little Halloween blow up decorations. It was cute.

Fin has become a major stinker during church. The other boys aren't much help either. When Tyson was in Canada church was awful! He's gone often because of work, but that particular Sunday was a doozy. Fin kept hitting his head while crawling under the pews and screaming bloody murder. I kept having to take him out and would come back in to see the boys swinging on the benches and shoving entire bags of marshmallows into their mouths. It was bad. And we were sitting right behind the deacons. So EVERYONE was watching. I had at least 10 people tell me after sacrament meeting that I had my hands full. Luckily, a saint of a neighbor took Fin for an hour so I could go to gospel doctrine. It was such a relief just to not have to hold him like I had been doing for the last several days nonstop! Ugh. Such a cute little stinker.

We got the kids' school pictures back. I literally about died laughing when I saw Callan's! This is just him. In his own little world ALL THE TIME. He has no idea they're taking a picture. Doesn't care. He looks like he's in mid-yawn or something. I told him before class that I wanted him to come home and tell me what color the light on the camera was. (to get him to look at the camera.) When he got home I asked him and he said, "uhhh I don't think there was a light."

Speaking of pictures, Tyson got a new camera and has been taking some cute candid shots of the kids. I may or may not call him Steven Powell when he takes his telephoto lens out in public. But I am very grateful for the pictures.
Grama and Grampa Cook came to watch Easton in the Primary program and then had dinner with us. Easton did a great job on his part: "Love in my family begins with me."
Callan had a field trip to Cold Springs Trout Farm for preschool. They had a cute corn maze and the kids got to feed the trout. Of course the day of the field trip it suddenly turned cold! We bundled up in winter coats and had a great time.
We carved pumpkins for FHE the week of Halloween. Easton really wanted to cook the seeds but I said no. Luckily his friend's mom cooked theirs and they shared!
Wednesday of that week we went to the church Halloween carnival. The boys had fun dressing up and playing the games the young men and young women put on.
On Halloween we went out to lunch and then went back to the trout farm so Easton and Dad could check it out. The weather was beautiful that day - almost 70. The boys loved feeding the fish.
When we got home, Grama brought Collette up to our house to spend the night with us. Grama read the boys a Halloween story and brought us her traditional Halloween stew.
We trick or treated around our street and back and the boys decided they had had enough!
Fin was a mummy like his dad was at this age.
Callan was a knight and Easton was a silver Power Ranger.
Tyson went down to Payson after the trick or treating for the Pheasant hunt opener. Collette and I started making pumpkin spice donuts, but realized the dough had to sit in the fridge over night. So we watched Hawaii 5-0 and went to bed early!
Man these months are flying by! We have lots to look forward to in November! Easton's birthday has already come and gone. Hopefully I can get to posting about that tomorrow. It's a pain when I wait and have to post the entire month. But I do enjoy the chance to look back at a month and see how very blessed we are!
