ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz

I don't know how scientifically credible it is, but from BBC News online comes this interesting article about our sleep habits...

The Myth Of The Eight Hour Sleep

I'm often up in the wee hours, but unlike the Savage Chicken, I don't stress out about it. I use the time to read or watch TV until I fall asleep again. And we're usually up with the chickens at our house no matter how little sleep we've gotten that night.

That's how the Cube family rolls :-)

Myocardial Infarction Burger

What are the odds of this happening while eating the above pictured burger...

I think this burger qualifies for the name Quadruple Bypass Burger.

Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... an interesting, but scientifically unproven article entitled:

How Your Cat Is Making You Crazy

via a microscopic parasite, Toxoplasma gondii, excreted by cats in their feces.

Just food for thought because sometimes science is stranger than fiction.

Happy Friday, everybody and don't let the parasites bite :-)

SUPER Bowl

I knew going in that the odds were that the Patriots would win, but I still rooted for the Giants. What a shocker of an ending. Woot!

Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... a Cat Blog Friday specially for Sue Hanes because she asked so nicely.

I can't believe my last post was last Friday. Between year-end tax paperwork, family and that my in-laws are visiting in one week, time for blogging is scarce lately. I may have to hire an assistant ;-)

Have a Happy Friday everybody! Hope yours is less hectic than mine.

Cat Blog Friday

For this Friday, the 13th, Cat Blog Friday...

...an angry black cat. I think it dovetails nicely with the spate of articles about Michelle Obama denying that she's an angry black woman.

Here are a couple, but there are plenty more...

Portrait Of The First Lady As An Angry Young Woman

Michelle Obama: People Paint False Image That I'm Some Angry Black Woman

Best quote from the articles I read was from William Sullivan of The American Thinker:

"Mrs. Obama, your image as an "angry black woman" is not an image we've painted of you. This is an image you've masterfully painted for us all."

I have always been proud of my country.

TeBowie

Don't start hating on me... I'm very proud of Tebow, but I also thought this Jimmy Fallon parody was humorous and clever:

You can bet nothing short of a dire emergency will drag me out of the house on Saturday night when the Broncos play the Patriots.

Sneaky Sharia

Did you know that Butterball has a company practice of "covertly slaughtering all turkeys in accordance with Islamic halal standards."

I didn't know about this insanity until I read this article from American Thinker:

Creeping Halal

I'm ticked off that we had a huge Butterball turkey for Thanksgiving this year.

Arrgh!

Consequences

Angel Yulee Adams is 37 years old and has 15 children from 3 fathers. This case, an ongoing drama here in Tampa, has now gone national...

Someone's Got To Take Responsibility

The writer, Thomas Lifson, writes that no civilization can survive if an attitude like this becomes widespread.

I think it already has.

Reluctant Reverance

From Moonbattery.com

More Bitter Half Day Reverence

Moochelle couldn't find it, despite the emblazoned "heart" on her shirt, to put her hand to her heart during the National Anthem at the Veterans Memorial at the USS Carl Vinson at the first time ever NCAA basketball game played on an aircraft carrier.

I guess she wasn't happy that some advisor got to her... Look at her face below... (click for a larger image).

I guess I'm as proud of them as they are of our country.

Veterans Elevens

This post is set to publish at 11:11:11 on 11/11/11... isn't that cool?

On this rare day, I want to thank all the veterans out there for their service to our country.

Gob bless you all.

Penn Plot Thickens?

District Attorney Who Never Charged Sandusky Has Been Missing Since 2005

I remember watching some forensic show which featured this missing DA's case. Authorities never found Ray Gricar's body, but his car was found in a Lewisburg parking lot and his laptop, minus the hard drive, was found in the Susquehanna River.

Now we hear DA Gricar had Sandusky and the mother of one of his victims speak in front of police in 1998, the report was referred to as "unfounded" by the DA's office.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Coincidence or is this going to get uglier?

Joe Frazier 1944-2011

Boxing Great Joe Frazier Dies After Cancer Fight

My dad was a big boxing fan over the years and it rubbed off on me. The Ali vs Frazier fights were a big deal at our house and I watched them all. I was very sorry to hear of Mr. Frazier's passing.

RIP Mr. Frazier.
