The membership to
the Phoenix Zoo
is the best thing ever!
In the summer,
it's not really about the animals,
though we stop and say hello.
It's actually all about the splash pads!
Oliver thinks he is
5 years older than
his actual age so
no matter how many times
he gets knocked over,
he still prefers the
big kid splash pad.

green thumb
Someone better hurry
and call Guinness World Records
because I think we just
scored the longest piece of grass
EVER!
Or maybe it is a sign that we need
to mow the lawn more often.
Either way, I love the look of
success on my two boy's faces.
You'd think they just caught a
big fish.

let freedom ring
Happy Fourth of July!
This is one of my favorite holidays,
so we started celebrating early
when Brooke's kids came over for
a sleepover.
We did all things Americana;
swam, ate watermelon, visited the zoo,
made a rope swing, and created
4th of July firework cookies.
a different kind of flag.
The boating flag.
It was 118 degree outside,
the water was ruined by the wind,
and Sam broke out in hives.
We loved it!
On the fourth,
we went to the annual
Pancake Breakfast.
Oliver participated in
the children's bike parade
by dressing up the truck
he got from Grandpa.
Unfortunately he can only get
it to go one way,
backwards.
Later in the day,
we had a BBQ at my
parents house
with a pretty fierce
game of water polo.
Followed by some
backyard fireworks.
Can't wait to do it all
again next year!
