Sparkle and Shine

Hi everyone!

It's Nat here bringing you our last dare for October.

First of all, thank you to those of you who played along with last week's tag-centric challenge! There were some great cards made.

Well, you might have thought with Halloween just around the corner that I'd be challenging you to some spooky elements, but no! I'm currently nearing panic mode as I've made very few Christmas cards so far this year, and well, time is ticking!

So if you are in the same boat I am sure this dare will appeal, and if you have zero interest in making anything Christmas-related then you can also play along because I want to see you feature plenty of Sparkle and Shine on your cards this week.

You can use bling, everything glitter-related including paper/tape/embossing powder/ink/paint/paste, foiling, reflective accents, and even tinsel trim.

Just make sure your project sparkles and shines!

Here are some ideas from the design team to get you started:

Play Tag

A big Thank You to everyone who joined in with Svenja's wonderful Monochrome challenge - it certainly seems you liked that one!

This week it's Purvi's turn to set the theme and all you need to do is
Add a Tag
Use your tag in anyway you like on your card; make it the focus, or an 'added extra', perhaps even put it in a pocket with a hidden message.  Your tag can be big or small and any shape you like - we'd just love to see loads of lovely ways to use tags.

Here's how the team worked with the challenge this week

True Colours - Seriously Monochromatic

Hi everyone!

I hope you all liked and were inspired by Gez' lovely photograph last week - it does get you into that autumnal mood, doesn't it?

But today is a new Friday already and time for a new challenge! It's Svenja here and I'm asking you to go

seriously monochromatic

on your cards this week. Stay true to your colour of choice and use no or very little other colours.

To get you into the swing of things the Design Team have worked ahead. Just look at their lovely creations!

October's Elemental Inspiration

Hi everyone!

Thanks to those who took a walk down Memory Lane and shared their creations with us last week.
Last week was our lovely Dianne's last week with us as Guest Designer, so we want to say a big "thank you" for all the wonderful cards she shared with us. Fingers crossed she'll be back again soon.
We're really pleased to welcome Joanne, aka Angelnorth to the team as Guest Designer this month.  Joanne is clever and ingenious, so do check out her blog - you're sure to discover something you didn't know, or haven't tried.....

It's the first Friday of a new month, so time for a brand new Elemental Inspiration challenge, and for October Gez has chosen a wonderfully Autumnal photograph to inspire us

You need to choose on 3 separate elements and the colour scheme counts as one element, so here are a few ideas to get you started:
Colours. Autumn, Harvest, Horses (or other animal), Leaves, Wood, Fence, Fruit and Vegetables, Basket or Trug
Or you could use the Layout of the photo:

We would love to see what you come up with this month so please join in then share your cards with us via the InLinkz gadget at the bottom of this post
Here are some ideas from our designers to help get you thinking

Making Memories

Hello and thank you to everyone that played along last week.
It was great to see who inspires you to get crafty and lovely to see all these inspiring blogs.
Its Dawn hosting this weeks challenge and I have picked....
MAKING MEMORIES
I have been so sentimental lately and remembering lots of happy times. So I would like you to create a card with a meaning or memory behind it and explain the meaning of your creation. Perhaps who it's for, why you made it and the memories it made.
I will start you off with a trip down my memory lane.

Dawn
This card was created because my daughter loves MLP but as a child I wanted the My Little Pony Grooming Parlour and as it wasn't my birthday my Dad made me one from pink and blue card for my cotton candy pony. I remember the carriage kept falling apart as my Dad used flour and water as glue but at the time it was brilliant. Thanks Dad. xxx

Purvi

I made this card remembering the beautiful starry sky we saw in the Orcas island.

Dianne
My birthday is the day before October 31st...Halloween. Every year when I was very small, I thought that all the celebrating was especially for me. :)

Kathy
Memories of growing up in a seaside village - playing on the sand, or clambering over the rocks, exploring the rockpools with a bucket to collect shells, little crabs, sea anemones and other treasures

Gez

I created my card with happy memories of the many hours spent playing in my dolls house.. my happy place as a child ♥

Miri
This card reminds me of my favourite childhood activity (colouring) and a crazy night out with my friends and a blue unicorn.

Not a card but a little booklet to hold a CD with photos from a day-trip to Amsterdam and to see a Banksy-exhibition there.
Text translates: I'm sorry, I do not have a photo for you today.

Thank you for the inspiration

Good morning, crafters. Thank you for showing us your cards inspired by beloved books.

Today I want you to say THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION.

There are some lucky girls out there who are able to craft and blog for a living (and their blogs have thousands of followers and their video tutorials are watched by hundreds each hour ;-). But I am sure that you've come across a crafty lady (or gentleman) whose blog has only a few followers, but has inspired you a lot. So here is the opportunity to get to know some brilliant, yet not so well-known, crafters and get new inspiration.

Create a card that’s inspired by the style, blog or a certain card of another crafter, who is not super famous yet (=less than 3-400 followers).

Don’t forget to put the link to the blog or the card that inspired you on your blog post so that we can get to know other crafters too.

And it would be great if you would leave a comment on their blog and say
THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION.

Have a look who inspires the Design Team members.

Favourite Books

Morning everyone!

Thanks to all those who played along with our Wonderful World challenge last week.

From music to the world of literature we go this week, as Leo's challenging you to create a card inspired by favourite books.

The design team was inspired by many genres, can you spot which books they have a particular fondness for?

As always we look forward to reading your comments and seeing how our challenges inspire you, so remember to link up your projects if you're playing along!

Happy crafting (and reading)!

Leo
