[three things]
1. slushy puddle conditions definitely call for rainboots.

2. this sweater got moved to the back of my closet and i kinda forgot about it.  it's my third favorite rust-colored joie piece (after this dress and this silk blouse) and the color has been phased out, so it's going to hold onto it's last place spot for awhile.

3. i'm going through a dark nail polish phase that started when i bought a fresh bottle of OPI's "lincoln park after dark".  it's the perfect super dark purple color.

1. christmas hat!  this guy has saturday morning coffee run written all over it.

2. my christmas vacation is pretty much nonexistent this year since apparently construction doesn't stop just because i want to spend the day watching love actually in my pajamas again.  at least my monster project is finally ending, so i'll be working on some new projects next year!

3. this is not a very warm coat, but it is the perfect fun coat for above-freezing days.

i have yet to bust out the sequins this year, but i was looking through my own archives to get some ideas for how i've dressed them down in the past.  i also have a black sequined dress (similar to this one) that i thrifted in vegas back in september that definitely needs to make an appearance!

1. i'm usually about a week behind on outfit posting, but these photos managed to slip under the radar for weeks!  look, there's leaves on the ground!  and no giant slushy/icy deathtraps!  alleys just aren't what they used to be...

3. things are (as expected for this time of year) a bit hectic.  and my project schedules have all conspired to keep me from taking any sort of lazy-a-thon vacation.  #grinchwhostolechristmas  anyway, it's looking like i'll be taking a holiday break from this here blogerson to make this all work.  so, see ya later, alligator.

1. i realized a little bit too late into this thirty/thirty/thirty remixing game that i included a ton of black and dark neutrals.  i set out to put together one outfit that had no black pieces, but these dark gray tights ended up looking pretty darn dark.  oh well.  i spent the day happily gray'd out.

2. i thought these would just be summer heels when i bought them, but i've come around to the idea of dark tights with lighter shoes.

3. yup, there's a wee bit of pattern mixing in play today.  this scarf is lighter than a lot of my other ones, but still has a good amount of volume when its tied.

1. i've been wearing a lot of black lately, but this brown coat is by far my favorite semi-warm coat.  and so a leopard-print scarf was exactly what i needed to bring the two together.

1. i rarely wear shirt+pants outfits since i love layering so much, but these suit pants are kind of perfect for pairing with simple tops.

2. dude, brights!  this necklace totes needs a crewneck neckline to adequately display its (borderline) obnoxious brightness.  oh, and it obvious travels with this orange clutch.

3. i've only worn this sweatshirt one other time in the remix (find the post back here) and well, i kinda forgot about it.  sorry, sweatshirt!  your ruffles and meshy sleeves do not deserve such neglect!

creative: white dress in the winter and some pattern-mixing for good measure.
young: the tasseled scarf can look very hipster/trendy, but the grandma cardigan definitely evens things out.
professional: since this cardigan is super thick wool, it has more jacket-like structure to it.  oh, and the usual neutralness is there too.

1. these big stripes have made this remixing situation much more exciting.  i've been leaning towards a lot more dark neutrals lately, so a bold, graphic pattern keeps things from looking too drab 'round here.

2. fleece-lined tights have been my go-to for the past few winters for opaqueness and warmness.  i think they might be warmer than some of my pants!

3. my holiday work parties start up this week and i've got to start planning out all my professional-sparkley outfits.  since it's all the same parties as last year, i have a better idea of the crowds and how many sequins i can get away with.

1. this scarf makes so much more sense next to our extra guest chairs.  unfortunately, there are no turquoise chairs in my office.  we do have a wobbler though.

2. i went through a phase where i would buy scarves whenever we would travel.  partially because i am always cold in planes, trains, and automobiles, so they can double as blankets.  now that i work in a cold office, the blanket factor is definitely coming back into play.

3. these tights are actually a muted olive green, but they tend to just look gray-ish.  you can kinda see the color better back in this post.

1. have i told you how much i love layers?  this would've just been a big sweater and upgraded leggings without its vest layer.  i went from couch time to work time with a vest and some non-slippers.

2. i bought this sweater as a replacement for my slouchy vince sweater (seen here dressed up) that i wore constantly last winter.  the asymmetrical hem definitely makes it a bit different than my vince one, even though they are both light neutral cashmere-blend v-neck sweaters.

3. this tassel necklace has been making me want to decorate for christmas with tiny versions of it.

1. anjolee sent over these super sparkly diamond hoop earrings and i am definitely a big fan.  they are the perfect combination of size and bling for an everyday earring.

2. heidi (find her blog over here) challenged me a few weeks ago to wear my rust tights again.  i have to admit that it took quite a few tries to find the right outfit for them.  they tend to look a bit halloween-ish with black, but apparently are perfect with mauvey-grayish-taupe dresses.

3. this snakeskin shoes with colored tights combination is a little out there, but i like idea of grouping two statement pieces together.
