We're Cracking Up Over Here ...

Happy Tuesday, Monday Grungers!

Today's card project was created for Studio L3's Grungy Monday challenge, 'We're Cracking Up Over Here.' For this week's challenge, we are using Tim's Crackle Resist technique ... a cracklin' good time!

For all of the challenging deets, visit Studio L3, HERE. And if you'd like to find out more about this uber-cool technique, you can watch Tim's instructional video HERE.

For a complete list of the products I used in this project, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Sooooooooo, this past weekend Sheila and I teamed up to do some hard-core, holy trinity power shopping: AC Moore, JoAnn Fabric, and Michaels.

At Mike's, we split up ... I headed left to the stamping/scrappin' section, she to the right to the ... other stuff. As we divided to conquer, I asked her to check and see if there was any Plaid acrylic paint on sale.

Forty-five minutes later, we reconnoitered in the Clearance aisle:

"Oh, hey, did you happen to notice if the Plaid paints were on sale?" I asked.

"Oh, that, are you kiddin' me?!? I got down on my hands and knees and literally crawled through that section and I didn't see even one bottle of Plaid paint!" Sheila answered.

"Really? There's usually tons of it."

"Don't ask me; I saw every color under the rainbow but no plaid."

Give it a minute ... it'll grow on ya.

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me!

~Hugs,

Steampunk Paper Bag Card ...

TGIF, crafty stampers!

Today's vintage-stampy project is a Steampunk-style paper bag card! I used a variety of Tim Holtz Ideology products in this project, a vintage Bingo card, heavily distressed shipping tags, a vintage French vocabulary card, a vintage slide mount loaded with crusty goodness, an old rusty key, and last-but-not-least, rubber stamped images. So much fun to create!

Here's a peek at the interior of the card:

And the back cover:

This card is entered in Lisa Somerville's Blogger's Challenge "Texture It" challenge. A distressed Kraft glassine flower, chunky patina, rusty goodness, and dry embossing created lots of texture.

I'm also entering the card in Gingersnap Creations Random Redhead "Favorite Designer Paper" challenge. The paper used throughout here is from Stampin' Up's retired "Autumn Meadows" collection ... in my opinion, one of the best vintage/distressed collections ever sold by Stampin' Up. Yes, I have a second, unopened pack of this collection ... which, by law, shall be hoarded until the end of time.

For a complete list of product used here, please refer to the Card Recipe, below.

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me ... hope you have a very crafty weekend!

~Hugs,

Farewell Typewriter ...

Happy Tuesday, hoarding paper-crafters ... hope you're having a fantastical day!

Today's card project was created for the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge. This week, the theme is "Song Title."

Lately I've been listening to hours and hours of alternative rock and have managed to get the song, "Farewell Typewriter" by The Posies, stuck in my head. I hate it when that happens. I thought using the song in a challenge would purge it from my brain ... plus I'd get to use my vintage typewriter stamp ... which is nearly identical to MY vintage typewriter. Well, I did use the stamp but the song is still looping over and over in my head. Oh, well ...

The card also qualifies for the CAS-Fridays "Penguin Suit" Challenge, to use black and white in a card. For a complete list of challenges, lookie below.

Finally, I'm entering this card into Lisa Somerville's Bloggers Challenge, "Elements of Time."

For all of the rockin' product info, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me ... you rock!

~Hugs,

Grungy Monday ...

Hello, stampers and grungers! Long-time-no see ... where ya been?!?

Today's card project was created for Studio L3's "Grungy Monday," Episode #33.

This week my old friend, the lovely and talented Linda Ledbetter {waves} has challenged us to create a project using one of Tim Holtz's magical alcohol ink techniques. Messy and fun! Check out Tim's easy, step-by-step tutorial, HERE.

The plan was to create a Fragment ... in my favorite alcohol ink colors ... that could be added to a bead-chain to create a necklace. And that still could happen, LOL!

I used vintage pen nibs from my vast collection of old and dusty stuff to embellish the card. The neat stamps are a mystery ... both are unmounted ... sorry. But for the rest of the exciting product info, check out the card recipe, below.

Thanks so much for swingin' by! And Sheila sezs "hey." So. Hey. When I have more time, I'll tells ya a story or hundred.
