I'm back from being sick. I definitely feel more grateful for my health after experiencing the depths of a major cold...for two solid weeks!
We woke up this morning to 1/4 inch of ice covering the ground, both of our vehicles, and everything else. It was incredible. Weather report calls for another 1/4 inch! I think I was born to be a weather girl... I am obsessed with the weather.
Story time: (2/1/2011 7:15am) Devon started our car with the remote starter we got installed for Christmas (thanks Mark and Sharla!). A few minutes later he went out to check the status. He popped his head back into the house and called up to me, "Hey Whit, can you google 'how to get ice off your car?'" I thought for a second and went into emergency problem-solving mode. I grabbed our huge bag of salt (also know as ICE-MELT) and held it out to him (with a victorious grin). That's right, who's the genius? He took one look and laughed, "I'm pretty sure salt is what ruins cars." And here I am, proposing that we throw salt over the entire vehicle.
Good thing I have a husband that knows those kinds of things. When I left for BYU, I remember my dad telling me to spray down my truck after driving around in the snow so it wouldn't rust. It all makes sense now!
