stupid tires

Where do I begin? Well...Christmas morning my parents, Mason, Tannis, and I were up at the cabin and the rest of the fam was on their way up to the cabin. Not long after Sterling, Taryn, and Ian had left to come up they got a nail in a tire and so Sterling had to change it. While in Heber, which is where our cabin is, he actually got his tire fixed, or so he thought. A few days after Christmas I decided to drive home to Mesa by myself. On the way home about ten minutes south of Rye one of my tires blew. I couldn't even feel a difference, but I kept hearing "thud thud...thud thud...thud thud..." It didn't sound good so I pulled to the side of the road. Sure enough, I had a completely busted tire. I didn't panic at first cause I had my cell phone. Well...I got my cell phone out and...NO RECEPTION!!!! I started to panic a little. I turned my hazard lights on. I then realized Sterling, Taryn and Ian were leaving to come home also about an hour or so after I left. So I began to pray that he would see me on the side of the road, cause no one was stopping to help me. Even though I had no cell phone reception I tested my luck and repeatedly tried calling Sterling and my phone kept saying "No Network Connection" or "Emergency Calls Only" So I decided to call 911...this was an emergency, right? Well...that didn't even work. I sat there for about another 45 minutes keeping an eye out for my brother's truck. I decided to test my luck and try 911 again, and it finally worked. The lady called DPS to send someone to help me and also called Sterling. About 45 minutes after that phone call a guy driving a big truck with a huge Harley sticker on it pulled to the side of the road to help me. He was the nicest guy. About the time he had taken my busted tire off a highway patrolman came to help. They put the spare on and realized it was pretty low on air. The highway patrolman didn't have an air compressor to fill it up with air, but the other guy did. Wow, I was lucky! While he worked on the tire the highway patrolman let me use his cell phone, cause he had reception, so I could call Sterling. I got a hold of him and he was only about 10 minutes away. He found me and I followed him the rest of the way home going about 50 mph! That was slow. He would have been there sooner, but the tire he thought he had gotten fixed was flat that morning and so he and my dad put his spare on, again. While doing that my dad got hit in the ear with the thing that loosens the screw things (don't you love my vocab) and had to go to Urgent Care to get stitches. Oh, and I just found out one of my aunts got a flat tire yesterday also. Anyways, to make a long story short, tires are stupid!

My whole family was up at our cabin for a couple of days around Christmas. Talk about good times!

Christmas came early!

Christmas actually came on December 23rd this year for my family. My brother Mason even dressed-up as Santa for such an occasion. I got a cool camera and a new flat-iron, but the biggest gift this year was an X-Box 360 along with Rock Band. I don't think I've seen my brothers so excited! Even the girls rocked out for a bit!

Home Alone & The Santa Clause have to be my two most favorite Christmas movies of all-time. I can quote them from beginning to end.


All I Want For Christmas is one that I loved when I was younger...and still enjoy. The Holiday is a new favorite of mine. Oh how I love Jack Black!


Will Ferrell dressed up as an Elf and running around NYC is probably one of the funniest things that I've ever seen. "Buddy the Elf! What's your favorite color?" Sinbad is probably the best part of Jingle All the Way, along with Phil Hartman.

vegas baby!

So I understand that this post is coming late, but it was too fun of a trip not to blog. On October 13th my roommies Amanda and Colette, along with our friend Claudia, and I went down to VEGAS to the BYU vs. UNLV game. It was my first and only BYU football game I've ever been to. I know I'm lame. The game was fun, but the best part by far was finding H&M and doing a little shopping. We also hit the slot machines for a bit. What a rebel I am!

I'm an aunt again! Sterling and Taryn have a new little boy, Ian Tyler Crandell. I was especially excited to see him for the first time when I was home for Thanksgiving. I must say, he's one adorable little boy. Here's also a picture of my fam...love them! P.S. Don't know if you noticed...I'm a brunette now!

She's a Doll

Sorry I haven't posted for a long time... I'm a busy college student! What can I say? Well here's some pictures of my little niece Emery. I can't wait until I come home for Thanksgiving and can see her again.

Emery Joy

This is my new precious niece! Emery Joy Crandell was born on September 28th. She's Preston and Kelley's new baby girl. She is in Arizona, and I'm in Utah, and I haven't even seen her yet.... I know... it's very sad! I'm going home October 25th-29th and I'm excited to see her then!

Knott's Berry Farm

So my mom, Shelci, Tannis and I went to lunch on Tuesday. While enjoying our fabulous food, we were overcome by inspiration. We thought, "Hey... why don't we go to California?" That was around oneish. We left for Cali around 4 that day. Talk about being spontaneous! We went to Knott's Berry Farm all day on Wednesday- it was awesome! Roller coasters, Dippin' Dots, sunshine, swimming...what more could you ask for on a gorgeous summer day? The answer is...nothing!

First day of Blogging

Well here I go on my first post.
I'm home right now, in Mesa visiting my family. This last weekend we were up at our cabin in Heber and also went up to Pine for our Crandell family reunion. It was great fun. Me, Tannis, and Sterling went on a 2 1/2 mile hike that was really pretty. It was awesome because for a mile of it we were walking in the pouring rain. I also won the sprint contest against all the other women in our family. Today I went to the dentist and had 3 cavities filled. My first 3. Pretty tight huh? I have 2 sister-in-laws who are pregnant so it's been fun to see them. They are so prego... I love it and can't wait to see the sweet little babies. I just can't wait to be an aunt. Kelley is having a girl, and Taryn is having a boy. Cute little Emery and Ian are coming soon- in October and November! My mom has already bought waaaay too much clothes for them. And has a crib, and a pack and play at the cabin. She is all set.
