Dad should have been a dentist

J.D. lost another tooth tonight. Okay, well he didn't exactly lose it. Josh pulled it out. He has been milking this tooth for about a week now. Today, he was driving Josh crazy by playing with it. So he told him, he was going to pull it when we got home.
J.D. screamed!! He doesn't do blood or pain well, and dad's just aren't as kind as mom's. I've tried pulling the dang tooth out several times this week, but I just can't do it!

Piper was sure intrigued. Tyson and I were both cringing and covering our ears.

Of course, Piper wanted to have a tooth pulled too.
Josh obliged. Look at his face. He was hamming it up for Piper. She thought it was great fun!

Tyson was giggling the whole time. The kids had just ate popcorn, so Josh picked up a little piece and handed it to Tyson. He really thought Josh had pulled out a tooth. He started to laugh when he realized it was popcorn, although for a minute he looked concerned and was touching all of his teeth. It was pretty funny.

Popcorn Popping on the kitchen floor

I so wish, I could have gotten to my camera a little bit quicker. We were making popcorn after church today and Piper was sitting on the counter watching it pop. She does this all the time. I went into the other room for like 2 seconds when I heard her start to yell at the top of her lungs!
She had knocked the top of the popcorn popper off the base and popcorn was flying everywhere. I ran for the camera, because she was trying to scoot back away from it as quick as she could. Her face was priceless!
I laughed and laughed. I just wish I could have caught the popcorn flying! I love the expressions on her face. I think she thought she was in big trouble.
It's hard to get mad at someone whose that cute. It's one of those moments I want to remember forever.

Hamburger Arms

No pictures today folks. Just me, boring old me, talking. This is a journal entry, but feel free to read. I have no secrets!

You saw the post below, about my ceiling falling in? Yeah, that was awesome. It happened Thursday afternoon as I was getting ready to walk out the door to J.D.'s basketball game. And today, even more insulation fell out. My kids took the hockey sticks that go to the game table, and rather than leaving it in a pile, pretended it was hockey puck, sooooo I have insulation all over my back room.

Tyson walked into the kitchen the other day and said, "Mom, I don't want a terridactyle as a pet. I think I want a dog." Random, but there you go.

I had the chance to go to The Best of EFY today with the Young Women. Only one of my Mia Maids went. Bless her, I could do with a dozen Meagans. But it was so good! I laughed and laughed and we spiritually fed. We had one speaker, Greg Johnson, who talked to us about the importance of writing down spiritual thoughts and promptings, so that we don't forget them. He also shared several HILARIOUS stories with us about his kids. I laughed so hard, I had tears steaming down my face. It made me realize that I need to be better about writing down the things my kids say, because dang it, I have some pretty funny and amazing kids.

Then, I came home and my eczema, which is a tad bit out of control was really bothering me. I had 3 fingers that were swelled up to about twice their size. I ran over to talk to my mother-in-law, hoping against hope that she would tell me I would be okay until my appointment on Monday. Oh no! It looks like staph infection. SWEET! So Josh took me to the instacare. I spent 3 minutes with a Doctor who told me it was inflamed eczema and yes, my puffy fingers were infected. After an hour in the waiting room, $87.00 for the doctor visit and few prescriptions later, I am on the road to recovery. I think I may sneak into church tomorrow and listen to Joey's farewell talk, and then me and the Pipper are coming home. She has a nasty cough and has been running a fever. Plus, according to my sis-in-law, my arms look like hamburger! They do, it's pretty graphic. I could compete with any picture you can find on the web for eczema. YUCK!! Sure makes a girl feel attractive. I have 5 day's of steroids, which annoys me. That crap makes you gain weight. So much for the HCG, I just finished.

Another one of the speakers, Justin Sula, was also amazing! He spoke about choosing happiness now. How we can choose how we react to our circumstances. It was a great talk and one that I needed to hear. I have some awesome quotes and scriptures that I will share. I need to go through my notes. But it's good to hear, because really all of these bad things may be happening to us right now, I'm still incredibly happy and incredibly blessed!

Our Crazy Life

What a crazy, busy and wet week we had! This is just a recap for journal purposes. We spent the entire week fighting a very leaky roof. I even had to climb up on the roof a few times! YIKES. I'm terrified of heights. It wasn't fun, but I did it. I think for now, we have the problem fixed, but we are going to have to pull the roof off of the edition and put in all new sheet rock on the ceiling :(. So I am giving up my 30th birthday, Disneyland trip for a roof! We need things to dry out and the weather to warm up, so for now, my back room is in chaos until I can put things back where they belong.

Thursday night Josh and I went to the temple. Joey was taking out his endowment as he gets ready to leave for Thailand. What a good kid. I am so impressed with him and can hardly wait to see who he'll be when he returns! He's gonna be a heck of a catch for some lucky gal.

Friday night, my boys spent the night at Trina's for Corbin's birthday. Grandpa came and picked up Piper at 5:30 and for 2 glorious hours I child free at my house. Then Josh and I went to see Avatar, which is the BEST movie I have seen in quite awhile. I was so impressed with it and can hardly wait to see it again!

Yesterday we went to Mia's birthday party! We had 3 parties in 3 day's. I think I am birthday partied out for awhile. Then last night was New Beginnings and it was awesome! We had some of our girls plan it for a project, so the only thing I had to do was provide a yummy dessert!

We had a birthday party at Jumpin' Jacks on Saturday!
It was a lot of fun. I got to hang out with Colby and Andie and visit. It seems like life is so crazy and we hardly see each other, although I see alot of Brenden!!

Piper has style. I love the boots and bathing suit look. So fashionable. Especially in the the freezing weather. At least she put a sweater on.
He's just plain handsome!
In between rain storms, Tyson rode his car around. He's obsessed!

Farmer Piper. It's fitting that 5 minutes later, she was out in the chicken coup and covered in poop! Yeah, it was fun to clean up.

3:30 am ramblings

Yes, it really is 3:30 in the morning. I have a horrible case of insomnia/itchy eczema hands. I can't sleep. I just went through all the blogs in my favorites and it took me a whole hour! A whole hour! But boy, oh boy, do I have some great projects tumbling around in my head.

I bought an awesome frame yesterday at DI for $3, it's kind of cream colored and vintage looking. The paint is peeling, but it gives it more appeal. It has a picture of an avocado in the middle of it. Honestly, who wakes up and thinks, "Today I want to paint a picture of an avocado?" I don't get it, but the frame is awesome. The avocado is nice to, if your down with putting up a veggie on your wall. I have big plans for it. I hung it on my wall last night. Can't wait to see what Josh thinks of my new picture. I am going to tell him I like it and that it's staying on the wall. Ha, ha, ha, can't wait to see his face!

Kids say funny things. Lately we seem to have a lot of things said that make me laugh out loud and stop my dead in my tracks. A few examples:

J.D. brought home his invitation to the baptism fireside from church on Sunday. I said, "Man, this makes me feel old!" Tyson asked, "If your old, what are we?" To which J.D. replied, "We're very young!"

Tyson was saying the dinner payer the other night and word for word, here is what he said.
"Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this day, she didn't want to kiss me, but bless us to still get married in the castle, Amen." He was totally referring to his gal Addie, and now every night in our prayers we have to hear about the castle. It's now replaced going to Disneyland and the beach.

Onto more depressing things, okay not depressing, but not nice! I had a horrible night last night with my Young Women. I just don't understand 15 year-old girls. I don't. I remember being that age and I am sure I had my moments. In fact, I remember a few, but the level of my naughtiness does not compare, although if were talking about the year I was 16 (almost 17), it makes my girls look like angels!! I was just beginning to think things were looking up. And really they are for the most part, just a minor set back. I still love them beyond measure, I just want to wring their necks a bit and then hug them!

Okay, now I've exhausted the thoughts tumbling around in my brain. I think the last bit of info, is really what is keeping me up. I'm so glad, I am not 15 years-old. It makes me tired just thinking about it. With that said, I think I am going to try and get some sleep. So good-night and sleep tight!

Ice Skating in Dixie

St. George has a skating rink! Amazing, I know. For years, we've said what a great idea this would be. It truly is. My Young Women have been raving about it for weeks. It was so much fun. We left Piper at home with Grandma and Grandpa last night and took the boys for Family Home Evening.
My boys were so excited! The anticipation was killing them all day long!
When we first went out, we were slipping and sliding all over the place! In fact, Tyson kept saying that he wanted to go home. Then he told me that he wanted to play hockey and I told him that he couldn't play hockey unless he learned to skate. Then he gave it some serious effort.
Three of my darling Young Women were there and they loved playing with Tyson. Kim, Reagan and Cierra were helping him around the rink.
It was so sweet of the girls to help him out. He wouldn't hold my hand, but he wanted to hold the pretty girls hands! What a stud!
Oh my gosh, it was so much fun!
My boys were so soaked by the time we left. Tyson says he's not going back without snow pants. He hates to be cold.
Me and my cute boy! J.D. did so well. I was so proud of him for keeping at it, even though he kept falling down. He did hit his head once on the ice pretty hard, but he got up and kept going.
Just keep skating, just keep skating!!

Oh my gosh, I love him!

What a big show off! He thinks he needs to be an Olympic speed racer. He kept racing past me and slapping my butt! He tried to hold my hand and I wouldn't because I was afraid that he would drag me much faster than my balance could handle. He kept lapping me! I can skate, just not fast.
It's to bad it's so expensive, because we would go a bunch. It will be a special treat for our family!

Speed Racer

For those of you who don't know, my sweet little Tyson has an obsession with Speed Racer. He wants to grow up and be a race car driver, just like Speed.

A few weeks ago I was at my friend Tiff's house and out front she had this awesome Speed Racer car. I asked her where she got it, and I was telling her that I was going to see if I could find one and asked her to keep her eye open for one, because Tyson would just DIE to have one.

The next week I got a phone call, "Come get the Speed Racer car." My sweet Tiff, totally gave it to me to give to Tyson, because her little girl doesn't drive it and wants to fix the Barbie jeep. I even offered to buy it, but she is so sweet to me. I didn't even realize it was a battery operated one, which just sweetened the deal. Unfortunately, he has only got to drive it the one time, because we got it late on Friday night, and were gone all day Saturday. Of course, Sunday is packed and today it's raining, but it's all charged up and ready to go.

Thanks Tiff! Your the best!

The Volcanoes

It's hard to get many pictures when your one of the coaches. I was busy trying to watch Tyson and Piper and watch the boys play. They did amazing! We are definitely getting better. They passed and rebounded and did so well dribbling. It's been a fun experience coaching! I am so grateful that Neal is there to do most of it :). Poor guy, but the boys listen to a dad better than they do me.
J.D. made 2 baskets this game, which is awesome! He was so excited about that. Our boys made 11 baskets total according them, but I think they are pretty close. Even though it's non competitive, they still like to keep track. I don't blame them, I have that same competitive nature. I'm hoping to get J.D. into a few camps this summer, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Destroying Angel

It's amazing to me, that someone so cute, can be so destructive. Notice the contraband bread stick in her mouth. You should have seen the path of destruction she left in her efforts to obtain this bread stick.
This morning, I opened the front door for Piper and she went in ahead of me. She rammed the door into the wall, the whole 30 lbs. of her and lookie what happened.

And then, she was outside shoveling dirt all over the walk way and all over every surface she could find.

And did I mention, she did all this without anything covering her cute little butt? It's been a long day already!

My New Favorite Quote

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Tyson's Little Girlfriend

My little Tyson is a ladies man!! I told you that he was kissing girls at school! And he has a few girlfriends.

This is Addie. She's Tyson's girlfriend. Or as he calls her, his little girlfriend. That is how he identifies her from the other girls. His Little girlfriend! She is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen. She is so darling and so sweet.

Addie came over and played at our house yesterday! It was a lot of fun to watch them and to listen to them. Addie says she wants to marry Tyson in a new pink castle! Super cute, huh? So yesterday, they were playing on the floor with a game and Addie told Tyson, "I want to get married in a pink castle." Tyson replied, "I think we should get married at the church." To which Addie replied, "I don't want to get married in the church. It's got to be the pink castle." Ha, ha, ha! It's super cute.

Adventures in Basketball

I wonder about myself sometimes, and how the heck I get myself into things? I was so excited for basketball this year and of course, "I would love to coach, I know a bit about basketball." Aye, aye, aye! I must learn to keep my mouth shut.

Teaching basketball to a group of 10 little boys is not my forte. Thank heavens for the assistant coach, who is one of my friends, husband, who I immediately delegated to be the coach!! Thank you Neil! Did all of that make sense?

Well, our little team had their first game yesterday. We had one practice beforehand and this game was pretty much just a practice game.

This is what the boys were doing while they were standing in line to do lay ups. Actually J.D. is doing a left handed lay up. Note his right hand is the hand that shot the ball. Left handed lay ups are hard. Especially for 7-year-olds.
Watching Neil show them how to do a lay up. Now let me tell you about #4. Josh was getting mad, "tell that kid to pass the ball." The boy had the ball the entire game, but let me tell you something about #4, THE KID CAN PLAY. I mean, honest to goodness, dribble, shoot, and even do a left-hand lay up! It's amazing! I know he needs to pass, but the competitiveness in me is fighting with my sportsmanship. He went to a BYU summer camp last year. And the first thing I did when I got home was look up basketball camps for J.D. So this summer, I will be going up to either the BYU basketball camp or the Ute's ball camp.
But all in all, it's a great group of kids. They had a lot of fun and I am excited to continue on this little journey. I am so glad my boys are into sports. J.D. told me he wants to play basketball and football. I am good with whatever, but it's sad you have to limit it, because he really is athletic. Football might be a little more his sport, though.
