Performance at Del Mar Fair

With Audrey being in Children's Chorus last spring, she had the opportunity to perform at the Del Mar Fair last month. Yea for the free admissions and parking! Plus we love going to the fair although we're always surprised at how fast you spend money. But it was fun and the kids put on a great show once again.

Carlsbad adventures

Too much time has passed and lots has happened! I think I'm officially a sporadic blogger. Well here goes my attempts to catch up a little and post some pictures of what we've been up to this summer.

Soon after school got out, we took the family up to Carlsbad to stay at the Grand Pacific Palisades resort and hotel for a couple days. It involved a timeshare presentation so that we could get the sweet deal to stay at the hotel for super cheap and get a $50 dinner gift certificate there too. We're suckers for freebies and have no problem saying no even though it's tempting:) This hotel is right by the flower fields in Carlsbad and although the flowers were gone, it still was a beautiful place and we had a blast hanging out at the pool, going to the beach and picking strawberries at the U-Pick strawberry fields. It was a nice little getaway without going too far- one of the perks of living in San Diego!
