Totally Papercrafts Challenge

This week's Totally Papercrafts challenge is anything Christmasy BUT a card ... I made a tealight holder for one of the girls' teachers ...

I also made some decorations for my Christmas tree - these aren't eligible for the challenge as no paper is involved!!!  But it just shows what you can do with cotton reels and bits and bobs!!

Helping hands!!

Or not so helping hands!  Beth wanted some quality time with Mummy, so she helped me make this card.  She has a mild obsession with my cuttlebug so she used it to cut the fishtails out and the butterfly.  I know the dp is pink - another of her mild obsessions!!!  And I would not have stickled that poor butterfly within an inch of its life ... but we had to have it sparkly!!

WOYWW

Its Wednesday and time to share my desk - I have missed a few weeks, not sure why, but I have!!  Anyhow here is my desk (taken using my ipad so the pic is naff and I don't know why?)

I am batch making the final set of Christmas cards - these are for hubby's work. I am using a Bo Bunny snowflake, ink and embossing powders - very simple!  But i had to have a play stamping with different inks and using using different powders on different cardstock.  I love the silver cardstock one, but it really doesn't show up on a card :(
Here's a closer look ...
I will photograph the cards when they are done and blog them.  For now I am going to snoop through Blogland amairing all the craftiness going on today, ably led by the lovely Julia.

For this one I made a joy fold card, I haven't made one of these for AGES!!  But I love the effect of them.

Dreaming of a white Christmas

I coloured this fab wintery Tilda in using promarkers on kraft cardstock and then added stickles and embossing enamel.  For the tulle I folded it in half and riffled and stitched it.  I stitched the seam binding over the top and then added pearl string.  The kraft trees were treated to some chunky embossing enamel and the white ones were stickled.
The light here today is awful, I can't get a decent picture, even with lots of fiddling on the computer.

Sweet Angel

If I had to have a favourite stamp, and only keep 1 stamp, it would have to be Rosie, I just love her.  I stamped her onto SU crumb cake kraft cardstock and then coloured her using my pens.  I glamour dusted her wings and bits of her dress and hair.  The tulle was quite wide, so I folded it half and stitched it, adding ruffles as I went along.  I added some seam binding over the top to hide the stitching.  The dp was also stitched.  I added some cheesecloth and a bow, and die cut and punched some snowflakes.  Finally a pearl swirl and pearls to the centres of the snowflakes.

I haven't added a sentiment yet - can't decide who to send it to ... if its one of my nieces I'll use some of the LOTV Christmas tag sentiments ... if its for a grown up I'll probably put a Craftwork Cards sentiment on it.  I really ought to start writing my cards as we have so many to send.

Christmas cards

I really should just get on and make my Christmas cards, rather than playing with different designs!!

So these 2 I made by simply embossing a panel of cardstock, adding some score lines, twine, a charm and the sentiment. I popped the cardstock onto 3d pads .  I have quite a lot of Christmas themed charms and these were really quick to make so I think a few more of these will be in the offing.

Challenges:
Less is more - hardware
Clearly Inspired - CAS
The Stampman - emboss it
Addicted to CAS - snow
Totally Gorguss Plain and simple

And after quick and easy, I needed to get messy!!
For these I used Tim Holtz stamps and stamped them in picket fence distress stain onto kraft core cordinations.  For the snowflake I simply popped into on foam pads and onto the card balnk and stamped the sentiment.

Challenges:
CAS-ual Friday - winter blues

For the snowman I added the grungy border and snowflakes (LOTV) again stamped in distress stain and some Stampendous chunky embossing enamel round the edges.

Challenges:
 Sweet Stampin' - Snow people
One Stop Craft - monochrome tones
Fuss n Fancy - feeling blue
Craft Punked - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp and show - stamp without ink
ATCs and Cards with Attitude - autumn/winter
