Natalie loved posing for the camera. The other kids are Beckett and Monroe Morgan, our friends. Doesn't she look so cute in that chicken costume? Her mom made it. You may notice that Julia was Cinderella in some of the pictures. Her Wendy costume wasn't done yet. Now Natalie thinks you can be 2 things for Halloween and she is putting in requests already for what she wants to be next year.

Happy Halloween
(After Thanksgiving). This Halloween we did a Peter Pan theme with Andy and Terica's kids. Natalie was Silvermist, Tinkerbell's friend. Julia was Wendy. We couldn't find a Wendy costume so my mom made this one with a matching robe since it was cold. The girls went to 3 trunk or treats, the Kirkwood trick or treat night, and trick or treating at the local high school. They got plenty of opportunities to wear their costumes.

My little princesses in the world of fantasy.
This was one of the most exciting parts of Disney world for Natalie and Julia. They loved meeting the real princesses and feeling like princesses themselves. Julia told Cinderella, "My dad's at work." Cinderella said prince charming was at work, too. While we were waiting in line to see them Julia kept swishing her skirt and doing twirls. I love the princess stage.

Our hotel at disney world
We had a great hotel at Disney World. They had 6 pools, but we didn't get to visit them all. There wasn't much time to swim at the hotel we would have liked more down time to swim, but we've decided we'll just have to go back when Marc can go too and stay there again. We liked it so much! The girls were so excited and we had some great views from our rooms too.

Belle at Chick-fil-a
We went to Chick-fil-a (one of our favorite places to eat) one night and Belle from Beauty and the Beast was there taking pictures and signing autographs for the kids. Beauty and the Beast was at the Muny this year and she was in it there. The girls had a great time. We didn't have such a bad time either, since they were giving way free spicy chicken sandwiches that night. We sure love Chick-fil-a's promotions.

Much needed updates to the blog.
So you know it's time to change some profiles when Julia, 2 1/2, is still learning to walk and saying her first words, which happened at about 10 months old. I found the quote to the right on my friend's blog and thought it summed up my main focuses in life as well. So I copied it to mine, I hope she doesn't mind. I think it's a good constant reminder to stay focused on the simple things of family life. And keep everything in perspective. What we do as mothers is the most important job we will ever have. What can be more important then raising a family up in righteousness? The world will bombard them soon enough with negative influences. We need to make sure that our homes are a place of refuge, a safe haven from all those outside influences that challenge the world today. We don't get much time with our precious little ones. Let's just hope we do our best with it so they are prepared for the outside world when it comes. That is what I do know. It's that this stage of my life is going to fly by way too fast. And when it's gone it's gone. So here's to making the most of it!

When the family looks their best.
Every Sunday, as we rush out the door to church, I think now would be the perfect time to take a little family photo. It usually doesn't happen on account that we want to be on time for church. This particular Sunday a few weeks ago, we were actually ahead of schedule and took advantage of the opportunity to get a much needed family shot. Happily, soon after that our friends took more pictures of us that will be posted soon!(Can you tell the sun was bright that day?)

I came across a poem I'd like to share.
The Scriptures and the T.V. Guide
The dilemma of not having enough time to
study the scriptures reminds me of this poem:
On the table side by side,
The scriptures and the T.V. Guide.
One is well worn and cherished with pride.
Not the scriptures, but the T.V. Guide.
One is used daily to help folks decide,
Nope, not the scriptures, but the T.V. Guide.
As pages are turned what shall they see,
Oh, what does it matter— turn on the T.V.
The word of God is seldom read,
Perhaps a verse before they fall into bed.
Exhausted and sleepy, tired as can be,
Not from the scriptures, but from watching T.V.
So back to the table side by side,
There sit the scriptures and the T.V. Guide.
The Plan of Salvation is for you and for me,
But it’s found in the scriptures, not on T.V.
Although I don't own a T.V. Guide. It puts in perspective where our priorities should lie.
