Favorite Quote of the Day

Ok, this Dad calls in and asks me if there would be any problems if his missionary got his paperwork in late; I proceed to explain that this is a huge problem etc etc.

The Dad says: "Well, Kristin, you're not telling me what I want to hear."

Hmmm . . . I am very concerned about this mans success in life.

People. Gotta love 'um.

Interesting Happenings

Ok guys, I just have to tell you of some strange/out of the norm experiences I had this week:

1. The cashier at Blimpies asked "Are you almost due?" as if I looked 9 months pregnant!!!

2. I gave my first ever deposition. It was almost stressful! Scott, I'm rooting for you!

3. I actually got PAID for giving a deposition! I made $18.50 for just telling both parties' lawyers what I remember about Scott before and and after the car accident he was in.

4. I had a dream last night that I had the baby really early, and then went to work the next day. Someone reminded me that maybe I should feed the baby, so I freaked out and tried to get home as fast as I could, but then I had to go through the busiest, most crowded streets/malls to get there and it seemed like no matter how fast I ran I couldn't get home; people were blocking my path and I had to shove them out of the way. And all the while I'm thinking "I'm the worst mom on the planet; I can't believe I just left her home! What was I thinking?" Over and over again . . . Thankfully it was just a dream!

5. Thursday night is our Costco pizza night because our birth class teacher's house is close by, and wouldn't you know it, the food court was closed last night due to construction. And to make matters worse, I went to Subway while John got us each a new Blackberry with T-mobile (for free, I might add) and the Subway cashier told me she ran out of bread (how do you run out of bread at a sandwich shop? It's not like they have tons of other options . . . ) We ended up at New York subs, and of course, John's sandwich looked better than mine - and tasted better, too! Oh well, live and learn.

6. I had lunch with the Consul General of Spain and his wife on Thursday. It was really fun, they were great people, and hopefully I'll get a copy of the picture I'm in with them. I have decided that all social functions need at least one pregnant lady present because it helps to really get people talking. You can always ask a pregnant women when she's due and the conversation just takes off from there!

7. I started wearing John's deodorant! Apparently mine just wasn't strong enough. The funny thing is, I walked around smelling this "guy" smell and thinking, "Wow, that smells good! Who's wearing that?" And then I would remember that, oh, yeah, it's ME! I smell like a man! But hey, at least I smell GOOD!

Well, ladies and gents, that's all I have for you today. It's been a busy week, and an interesting one at that, as you can see. The baby is doing great, getting stronger every day while I get more tired and my belly expands. But that's ok. It's been a really easy pregnancy, so maybe we'll have 10 more . . . :) Mom, Dad and Kim, John and I now have "Fave 5" with T-mobile, so I am listing you as my faves since I talk to mom and dad all the time, and Kim, you're moving up here. That way it's free for me to talk to all of you! Isn't that great? My last "Fave 5" slot is still open, so I'll be accepting bids and bribes on who wants it . . . The slot will go to the highest bidder or best briber! ;) Just kidding.

Picture of the Belly

Here is the picture of all of us girls after our whirlwind registering experience at Babies R Us and dinner at Red Robin. We are a cute group of girls, if I do say so myself . . . Enjoy the belly shot!

Current Happenings

Dearest All,

I went to Phoenix over Conference Weekend because I had a free ticket on Southwest and I happen to HATE Salt Lake over Conference Weekend! It is so crowded and people are even more retarded than usual . . . so I took the easy route and took Friday off for a little Phoenix getaway. And man was it worth it!

I got to see Mom, Kasey, and Carson Thursday night when Dad and I met them at Valley Luna for dinner. Of course, the first thing they touched was my belly! I've never felt like I was loved for a body part before I got pregnant, and now I KNOW people just like for me what's in my uterus! It was great to see them and to eat the best fundito I have ever had! Carson is just too cute and later that night mom and I (ok, mostly it was mom) gave Carson a bath and then we sent him and Kasey home. Mom and I stayed up to midnight just talking. All we needed was some blankets and junk food and we could have had ourselves a proper sleepover! It was so fun to just catch up on everything.

Friday was lots of shopping and . . . drum roll please . . . a haircut for Kristin! I haven't gotten my hair cut since September of last year. Here's why: I'm cheap, it grows too fast, and I love being able to put it in a pony tail and calling it a day! However, my hair was to the middle of my back and it just needed some attention, so after hitting Motherhood Maternity and meeting Dad for lunch, mom and I spent three hours at the Hair Hut getting our hair done! Actually, I was so hot in my jeans, tank top and cotton shirt that mom and Kyla had to fan me while I held a water bottle to my forehead! I am so not used to the AZ heat any more. It was only 55 degrees when I left Salt Lake, and it was over 85 in Phoenix the whole weekend. I now have bangs, cute highlights, and a much shorter cut. But I love it and it's still really easy to do.

Saturday was more shopping and errands for me and mom. But the real highlight was Saturday night when Mom, me, Kari, Kasey and Kimberly all went to Babies R Us to get me registered for baby stuff. Since I had NO idea what I needed and Kimberly is really good with the scanner, Kari and Kasey helped me pick out the most helpful and useful items while Kim scanned those and then some (if you buy the bling pack of pacifies heads will roll)! It was hilarious and I LOVED sharing that with them. It beat going alone by a long shot!! After our registry spree we were famished and we ended up at Red Robin where we very unladylike shoved food in our mouths as fast as we could! We ate and talked and had a blast. My whole trip was worth that night. Thanks, ladies, for being so wonderful!

I flew home Sunday and John and I went to bed at 8:30pm. I was more tired than words can describe!

And now, we have a wedding cake to do for Wednesday night, when we will pick up Ben (John's bro), deliver the cake, and drive to Cedar City for Mimi's state FFA convention on Thursday. Friday night is a wedding reception for Dad's cousin's daughter and then my B-day is on Saturday. I will probably be sleeping the whole day cause I am going to be wiped after this week. I am already having a hard time keeping my eyes open!!

Oh - and for those who are interested - John's Aunt's will be throwing me a baby shower in June on the 14th. Please block off that day so if you are close by you can make it. I'd love to have anyone there that can come.

And for those who don't know, we are having a little girl. The name thing is still undecided, and will be until she's born. We will have to see her first before we can name her. And we're thinking about doing the baby blessing over Labor Day weekend in September so people have some time off and it's not such a long trip for nothing. If you can make that, we'd love to have you!
