Shark Babe - Slinky Tart

I just love this image from Tamara. It's called So Annoyed...times 8 and the expression on the octopus' face is priceless.

I printed the image and colored with Copics. I took my cue from my daughter's summer wardrobe in that bikini bottoms and tops no longer match. It's now cool to mix and match colors and styles. I used a glaze pen to add dimension and a bit of realism to her goggles and the Magic Pearl Pen for the clear "water" drops here and there on the card.

I hope you will visit the Slinky Tart Blog to see what the other DT ladies have for you this week. As usual, it is sure to inspire!

Good Times - The Stamping Chef Challenge #49

It's time for another Anything Goes Challenge over at The Stamping Chef and here is my DT card using the most definitely smexy Good Morning Meredith.

I printed her and colored her with my copics and then used the Spellbinders Oval die to cut her out. I am on a mission to use some of my patterned paper which I have hoarded over the years and this is the result. I added some flowers and leaves from my stash and a little bling. I was going for a Fall look since we are in October and I am pretty satisfied with the result.

Now it's your turn. Remember, you can use any image for the challenge but you get entered twice if you use one from The Stamping Chef. I'd love to see what you've got cookin'.

Rock On - The Stamping Chef Challenge #41

This is my first post as a Sous Chef DT member for the The Stamping Chef. Each week we host an Anything Goes Challenge with a chance to win 3 fabulous digi images. You do not have to use a TSC image to enter the challenge but if you do, you are entered twice for your chance to win. For a complete list of the rules, please visit the TSC Challenge Blog.

For my card, I used Terri. Isn't she adorable! I printed her and colored her with my copics and then cut her out with a Spellbinders die and mounted her onto my card base. The sentiment is from a retired CTMH stamp set. I added some Prima flowers and a little bling.

Below is the copic color key for this project. Feel free to pin it to your Pinterest board. I have started a specific board for my TSC projects which can be found HERE. I also have a board dedicated to all my copic projects HERE in case you need some color combo/ideas.

Now it's your turn. I would love to see what you've got cookin'.

You Rock

Today I have a card I made for one of my daughter's friends. They both perform in a band that plays at local venues and this weekend they celebrated her 13th birthday. She plays a mean guitar and is very into classic rock but she is also not a girly girl so pink and glitter was not going to work this time around.

I actually used various distress inks to make the background and then sprayed a little water over it for a mottled look. I then lightly stamped some sheet music and inked the edges. The focal image was made with clear embossing powder and then I sponged some more distress ink around the embossed image.

I was a bit worried that it would look masculine because of the colors I chose, but since I kept it on the lighter side, I think it works perfectly for a young lady.

Paper - SS White, Twilight
Ink - Versamark; Walnut Stain, Broken China, Crushed Olive, Forest Moss, and Shabby Shutters distress inks

Simple Thank You

Today I have a super simple Thank You card for you. I subscribe to Andrea Walford's Paper Crafter's Library email and I saw a super simple card that was easily mass produced and I needed something like this for my daughter's birthday thank you cards. Unfortunately, I did not save the email but suffice it to say that except for the stamps and colors I used, the cards are almost identical.

I used one of the Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card stamps for my background in my daughter's favorite color. I cut a fishtail banner and stamped my sentiment and then added a purple gem. This design is so easy and I know I will be using it again in the future whenever I need a lot of cards quickly.

Egg-stra Special Spring Wishes

Today I wanted to show you two Easter cards I made using the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cart for the Cricut.

I used the AP cart to cut out the egg shaped cards from Colonial White cardstock and then using the decorative layer function, I cut the design and made one card using the positive image and another card using the negative image.

I also used the Adhesive Springs to attach the bunny inside. The card folds flat and is easy to mail but when you open it, the little bunny "springs" to life and bobbles around.

I added some glitter and adhesive pearls to embellish and I also sponged the edges of the cardstock and patterned paper with Chocolate ink.

Isn't this just the cutest interactive card?

Heartfelt Creations - Birthday Treat Box

Good morning and Happy New Year!  I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and made some cherished memories with friends and family.  I had my in-laws here for Christmas and then we had some friends over for New Year's.  Things were hectic but it made for a fabulous time.

Today I want to share with you a project that is perfect for a birthday or even Valentine's Day.  I found the tutorial for this adorable little treat box on SCS HERE.  I used patterned paper from CTMH's Sonoma paper pack and then embellished with flowers I made using Heartfelt Creations' Flora Grande 1 and 2 stamp sets.  You can get the measurements and all the details of how I made my box on the Heartfelt Creations Blog. You'll also see some amazing projects made by the other members of the Design Team so I hope you'll check it out.

Once again, I used the Inka-Gold paste in Old Gold and Violet to create my flowers. This time, instead of using a cream or white cardstock base for my flowers, I used light purple and sponged a light coat of the Violet paste on top and then sponged the edges with the Old Gold.  I also sponged the edges of my sentiment and mat with Old Gold.  I love the shine you get because it's subtle and gives any of your projects an elegant look.

For my treat, I added a small bag of pretzels because all the Christmas candy was eaten; most of it my me.  You could also add a stash of small cards, tags or even a couple of votive candles.  Isn't that a great little gift for a birthday or hostess?
