Stamping Dragon - New Challenge 'Bling It up'

Hello and welcome to my Scrapbooking Blog.

My post today is my DT Scrap-pge for the new challenge starting today over at the Stamping Dragon Challenge blog and the theme is Bling It Up.

The fabulous Stamping Dragon  Designs are the sponsors of this challenge and offer  a voucher for the winner to be spent in the Stamping Dragon on line store.

I have chosen to use the latest kit from Stamping Dragon called 'Home Tweet Home' for my background  and complimentary papers and embellishments.

How to 'Bling Up'  a digital was a bit of a challenge in its-self, but using my Photoshop photo-editing tool, I created some pink diamond swirls that ties in with the colour palette from the  ' Home Tweet Home' kit.

Don't forget, although I am creating this layout in a Digital format, you can still print, cut and lay out your scrap- page  in a similar way using traditional scrapbooking methods.

The subject of the Scrap-page are my lovely In-Laws on their wedding day, cutting the cake and looking so young and happy. .

My background is the lovely distressed green paper in the kit with a strip of the pink patterned paper to add  some contrast colour. Trying to keep the focus on the photo, I added some butterflies and my digital diamond swirls to add a bit of Fizz to the layout, together with a home-made digital lace border created by combining some Cookie Cutter shapes to form a lace band.  The oval frame also came from the Photoshop options and I just coloured it to blend with the papers and embellishments.

Stamping Dragon New Challenge - Let's Go Green!

Hallo All and welcome to my Scrapbooking Blog.

I'm afraid that the job got priority this week and crafting had to take, not quite a back seat, just sit off to the the side but still in my eyeline sort of position. If you follow my drift..

My post today is my  digital DT piece for the new challenge over at the Stamping Dragon Challenge Blog - Let's go Green and the paper pack is called 'Luck of the Irish'.  Stamping Dragon are our great sponsors and the winner of the challenge gets to shop in the on-line store with a 5 GBP voucher!

I've chosen a photo of my Mum, Auntie and myself during a day out in Dublin taking the delights of the Guinness Gravity Bar, where you a free pint at the end of the tour... Result !!! As you ca see from the smiles we were a happy bunch as we sat  in the bar with fantastic views across Dublin City, sipping Guinness.

Cheers

I love the mixture of the dark and light greens. I selected the  block colours for my  background / base as I felt the photo had already a lot going on in it. Using my photo shop Cookie Cutter feature I created a Clipping Mask to make the row of shamrocks and used the green tarten buttons from the digi-kit to add interest.  A strip of the multistripe paper was cropped to create the support for the photo and the thin band of orange from the Playtime Paper Pack  added a dash of colour.  I added  three  more buttons to the top right -hand corner  and a larger shamrock to act as the tag that is slotted behind the photo.   It was a great day and this photo is a great memory. And that's what scrapbooking is all about.

Don't forget that although I am creating this page digitally, the papers and embellishments can be printed and cut and punched as desired and used in the traditional scrapbooking  way.

Now it's your turn. Check out the challenge blog and be inspired. Don't forget to check out the rules and remember to link your entry directly back to the challenge blog. And of course Good Luck!

Digitally Sweet - Colour Challenge.

Hello All,

and welcome to my Scrapbooking Blog.

My post today is my entry for the new challenge at the  Digitally Sweet challenge and it is a digital scrap-page. I am getting back into the swing of things 'craftwise' and this is my first scrapbook challenge entry for quite a while. So here goes.

Using the collage below for inspiration, entrants are asked to create their colour interpretation for the challenge. I quite like the vibrtant colours and the combination works well. Lots of inspiration here.

So on to the scrapbook page.

Let me introduce you to Curtis. So keen was he to arrrive on Planet Earth, he arrived way ahead of schedule, creating quite a lot of excitement and concern at the same time. Curtis kept is nearest and very dearest on edge for some time but fought his way through and continues to thrive and grow. to the delight of all.

Jenna and Curtis

I love this photo of Curtis and his mum Jenna.  A happy and content baby  and a loving, doting mum: Just Fabulous!

The page was made using a combination of some digital kits (freebies) that I am trying to find the names for. As soon as I relocate the information I will update the blog.

Thank you for stopping by to read and comment on my blog. Your time is appreciated and your coments most welcome.

In the Kitchen- Stamping Dragon - New Challenge

Hell and welcome to  my scrapbooking Blog.

My post today is my digital DT scrap-page for the new challenge starting today over at the Stamping Dragon Challenge Blog with the theme  'In the Kitchen'. Stamping Dragon are also our sponsors and there is voucher to spend in the online store for the winner of this challenge.

The featured pack for this DT project is the Mustard Seed paper pack from Stamping Dragon. I have also used the digital stamps Baking One to add some embellishments to the layout.

Mustard Seed Paper Pack

I chose to use a photo of my lovely husband making the Christmas Pudding with the title  'Man at Work'. What you are seeing here is the cropped version as the kitchen was in such a state during and after this creative baking session, I couldn't let the public see it ! It was all very industrial for a bit, lots of debris and lots of clean up. But it was worth it. Between you and me the pudding was delicious!  I might let hubby have another go next time.

Man at Work!

I liked the traditional feel of the patterned papers and made my base from the most masculine (I thought) from the pack.  I used my Clipping Mask to  make the scalloped border which helps to anchor the photo and elements to the bottom of the page.

I then made a template for a Tag and matched it in colour with the backing paper, using my Photoshop paint-pot to add the colour. The Mixing Bowl, Spoon and Roller were digitally coloured as were the eggs.

I am please , and so is hubby, with the result.  And now it's your turn. Pop over to the challenge blog and be inspired by the DT's creations. Whether it is a card or scrap-page, join in the fun with us. And you never know you might be a winner!
