Well, I'm back...... I'm not ready to get into the making of cards yet, but I'm finally up to posting one that I made before my surgery. The hip is doing good, but speedy is not my middle name. Still needing the walker and the pain meds, but things are progressing.....there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Wish I could make use of one of these to get around....
This card uses an image from Kenny K (Scooter), coloured with copics. Complementing DP in shades of brown makes for a great fall birthday card, for a little guy I know who is chock full of vim and vigor!
Hope you are all keeping well...thanks for visiting.

Optical Illusion
Something really different for me today. I had a go with some distress inks, some stencils and some stamps, all of which had been waiting patiently for me to play with them again.
This is just a one layer card. I first laid a negative die cutout over the card, and then the lattice stencil. After taping each layer down to assure no movement, I then sponged the two colours of DI through the stencil. Then I stamped the butterfly over the stencil. Really pleased with the result, I felt it just needed a bit of black stamping to set it off.
Supplies used:
Diamonds stencil - from Clear Scraps
Creatopia Frame 2 die - from Spellbinders
Holly Branches stamp - from Sweet Stamps
Large Butterfly stamp - from Victorine Stamps
Hope you enjoyed your visit. If you should give this a try....it is lots of fun!

Raindrops keep falling....
Well, the countdown is on! Less than a week now, until my surgery. I am so looking forward to the new me....with the new hip. It's amazing, all the things we do that we take for granted.....until we can't do them anymore. I'm so looking forward to ditching the cane and the pain meds.
Today, I've gone with a Thank You card, using an image from Sweet Pea stamps, titled Raindragon. He sure looks happy, walking in the rain....which would be a pleasant change from the heat and humidity that we are experiencing right now.
Something a little different on this one. The paper at the bottom of the card is cut in strips and attached with a layer of double faced tape. Then I've sprinkled glitter, which of course sticks to the tape showing between the layers. This creates a kind of watery look....as of course it's raining.
Thanks for stopping by....and try to stay cool.
