First Card for 3 Years

Well, hello if there's still anyone out there?

It feels so strange to be writing a post for my blog after such a long time but not as strange as actually making a card after such a long break!

I have a friend who is going through a particularly difficult time right now and she is turning 50 on Saturday!
I wanted to spoil her with a special card and it didn't seem right to buy her a shop bought one.
It's a very basic card, digitially created on the computer but I think she will love the thought and sentiment!

Thinking of You

Hello,

Now we're officially in autumn, I can let out a huge yipppppeeeeeeee!!!!

I'm not a lover of the hot, humid, summer days and its so nice to have the darker evenings so that I can close the curtains and snuggle up in front of the TV with a hot cuppa.

Today's card is one that I made for my SIL and BIL. My BIL was involved in a horrendous motorbike accident in Spain as a result of suffering from a Haemorrhagic stroke whilst at the controls of his motorbike and I wanted to send them both a card to let them know they were in our thoughts. You'll have to excuse the picture quality, I just couldn't get a decent photograph no matter how hard I tried!

25th Anniversary Card

Good morning,

Weather here is a bit rubbish today, no sunshine and it looks like rain is on its way. I'm off out shopping soon with Sophie, so that should cheer us up a bit!

My friend asked me to make a 25th Anniversary card for her husband, she didn't want anything too fussy so I tried to keep it as simple as I could....she was absolutely delighted with the end result and I think the papers I chose worked really well on the overall design.

You're Not Old!

Good morning,

This is the card I made for my hubby's birthday. He really isn't a great fan of cute cards, he prefers either a humorous card or one with cars on it. People often give me their old Birthday and Christmas cards to recycle and that's where this image came from. I didn't think the card needed much else other than a CAS design with the text and border added on the computer.

Digital Border: RebeccaB Designs (Borders #2 Square 9), re-coloured on the computer
Card Stock: SU! (Brilliant Blue), Black card from Hobbycraft

GCSE Good Luck Cards

Good morning,

It's GCSE season and I wanted to make Sophie a Good Luck card to wish her well in her exams. I knew it had to be a fairly clean and simple design and I cased this really pretty card I 'accidentally' discovered on Pinterest.

I also wanted to make cards for Sophie's besties Deon and lauren, as this is such a tough time for all of them and I wanted to let them know we were thinking of them too!

Here's a couple of photos of Sophie...2011 when she started out on her high school adventure and again in 2016 on her leaver's day. I love that the pose is the same some 5 years later!

Happy Birthday Dad

Good Morning,

Happy weekend, hope you all have a good one...the weather here is decidedly dodgy and could rain at any point.  Think it will be an inside kind of a day!

It was hubby's birthday recently and this was the card I made from James and Sophie. They asked for something that wasn't cute and as in previous years, we have exhausted aeroplanes and MG cars...I opted for something a bit rustic in a very clean and simple design.

Tools: Cricut Expression to cut DAD letters, Die-namics (Fishtail Flag Stax)
Embellishments: Card candy (white) coloured with a Tan Promarker

Passion for Promarkers #344...Nature

Good morning,

It's time to share new challenge details for Passion for Promarkers and this weeks theme is all about...
NATURE

My contribution to nature is this pretty little box of flowers...I love daisies as they remind me of my childhood, making daisy chains in the summer and then attempting to wear them as a necklace. Somehow I always managed to break mine though!

Apologies for the rubbish photo...my camera broke over the weekend and I had to snap this with my iphone...its not the best quality but needs must and all that. Also, just as a point of reference for myself really, this card is 8" x 8" and the scalloped card base came from Hunkydory.

We are sponsored by

30th Birthday Card

I think I most probably get the 'worst blogger award so far for 2016 and I am so sorry I haven't been aorund much to visit your blogs.

I have no excuse, I just need to get better at managing my time. I have made a few cards recently but they have largely been with pre-coloured images for quickness. I'm also embarassed to say that I have also recently bought some shop cards for family & friends birthdays but they have been very kind and haven't beaten me up about it!

Anyhoo, I mjade this card a while ago for a lady who loves, frogs, green and yellow....bingo, a perfectly co-ordinated card to which I added ribbon, lace and pearls to girlify it.

Also, just to prove I haven't been completely idle..I have been crocheting throughout the dark winter evenings and below are some piccy's of recent makes I've finished...

Florence...1st Birthday Card

Good morning,

Brrr...its very chilly here today even though the sun is shining. We had a very hectic few days last week preparing for a mini break to visit family in Scotland. We had a wonderful few days even though it was extremely cold. We arrived home to no heating or hot water last night but thankfully hubby managed to sort it out and we're defrosting now.

I haven't managed to visit any blogs over the last week or so but I hope to rectify that over the next couple of days.

I made this card recently for a little girl who is celebrating her 1st birthday...I couldn't resist using a bit of gingham with one of these adorable pre-coloured images from Lily of the Valley.
