Things I Miss

So why do I miss these things you might wonder?
Well, it's simple...I don't have them and therefore I miss them.
I grew up in a small town, in an average house, on an average street, that had front and back yards with grass, trees, flowers, landscaping and even a pool now and then, hidden behind a wooden fence.
Since I left home many, many, many years ago...I've lived in some very remote places and most of those places have been devoid of grass, trees (in abundance), flowers and that elusive pool.
Not that the pool matters, just thought I'd throw that in there.

More often than not in the last 25 years, most of the homes I have lived in have been surrounded by lush green hay fields.
Nothing wrong with that. It actually made "mowing the grass" easy, as every 30 days or so a swather would make a pass through the field and cut the "grass".

But once in a while, we would live in a place that already had grass, trees, flowers etc. because someone prior to us had taken the time and done all of the hard work of planting, grooming and growing.
I always enjoyed working in those yards and keeping the labors of the prior residents alive and growing.

Fast forward to now...
We have lived in our current home for sometime now.
Last summer we planted six trees, but that is the extent of our landscaping.
I live in a pretty valley surrounded by mountains, hills and lots of green alfalfa fields,
but sometimes,
I just miss the simple pleasures of a little landscaping, big leafy trees and the burst of color that flowers provide!

Monday Humor

Just a little funny to lighten the mood on a Monday.

I've been plenty busy the last few weeks.
Lots of work responsibilities on my plate at the current moment!
A little fun mixed in as well.
A good laugh now and then makes the day just a tad bit better!
