This year Lila's birthday was on a Sunday and she LOVES primary, but unfortunately it was our stake conference so she wasn't able to attend primary that day.
For her birthday dinner she chose mom's homemade chicken pesto along with rice crispies for dessert. And let me say, that is by far the easiest dessert to throw together.
Alas, Lila's teachers were so nice to still remember her birthday from last week and they brought black and white cookies for her primary class to celebrate.
In this picture Lila is also wearing her new necklace she got from her friend Rachel. :)
Birthday Party!
This year it was a big success with Lila's Birthday Party. We lucked out with the weather being very pleasant and had a great turn out of friends that came to celebrate. We invited her 1st grade class, church primary class, and a few other friends (Brooklyn, Amelia, Finn). Truman and his friends Jack and Xander were hired to make animal balloons, Chantel helped me with the face painting, and I hired a couple to play/sing some music at the party with guitar and violin. The musicians, Tal and Mcall Haslam live in the Harlem 1st ward, are newly weds, and (Mcall) recent graduate from Juilliard.
After baking from 5:30-11:00 the night before I was able to pull off a decently decorated cake that was delicious. I should have thought to surround the cake with marshmallows and pocky sticks because about half the kids wanted one of those in their slice. ;)
The party favors were the bag of eggs that someone got collected evenly.
Friends in attendance included: Lucy, Amelia, Brooklyn, Rae, Harper, Rachel, Vida, Clare, Ada, Eleanor, Veronica, Chloe, Nash, Hannah, Nolan, Eve, Sophia
Mark somehow ordered just the right amount of pizza with only 1 slice left over.
