So I did a celebrity look-alike thing on myheritage.com, and this is what it came up with. I think Bryce Dallas Howard (Ron Howard's daughter) is gorgeous, so I'm excited! :)

After: This is how the stylist did it. It's cute, but when I do it, I split the bangs on both sides a little more and it's more full. It's all layered, so it looks really cute even with just blow drying it. And JayC really likes it, so it's a success!

Recipe and Celebrity Challenge

2 items of business:


1. Okay, so my sister Emmy gave the challenge to post our favorite family recipe. Honestly, we don't have one! We can't come up with a recipe that we just love and like to have frequently. Hmm. I think it's probably because I'm always experimenting with new recipes. We very rarely have the same thing twice. I've never really thought about it until now! I guess when I don't feel like making something new and creative, I do fall back on a few easy things like tacoes, taco salad, BLT's or pizza, whichever I happen to have the ingredients for. So now I guess our quest is to find a recipe that will become the new Hebdon family favorite!

2. My other sister, Marlene, gave the challenge to post who your celebrity look-alike is. They have some pretty good ones and posted pictures of them for comparison. I have a problem with this challenge as well. JayC and I have no clue what celebrity we look similar to! No one has ever told us we looked like one. So my challenge to everyone else is to give us ideas as to who we might look like! Then we'll post pictures on the blog so you can see if they fit us or not. I'm both excited and nervous to see who

Clomid

I'm starting to take Clomid today. I've been taking Glucophage for 7 1/2 weeks to help with ovulation, and I was supposed to take it until February, but it makes me so sick in the evenings, that I just couldn't take it anymore! So I called the nurse today and she said since I'm on day 5 of my period, they'll stop the glucophage and start me on clomid. So I'll take it today through Saturday (5 days), and then we'll see if it causes me to ovulate. I'll go in for a blood test on the 22nd to see if I did. With the help of my handy dandy ovulation monitor, hopefully we'll be able to get pregnant this month! If not, we'll try it again next month and go from there. Wish us luck!

I thought this pictures was funny, because one of the side affects of clomid is multiple births! There's a 10% chance of having twins, and a 1% chance of having 3 or more. At this point, we'd be overjoyed with anything!

Goodbye 2009!

Hello 2010! I remember thinking that when we got to the year 2000 that would be just crazy, and here it is 2010! Pretty unbelievable. As one does at this time of year, I have been reflecting on what happened throughout the year 2009 for us, and I thought it would be nice to have a little recap.

Last year, we were living in beautiful Seaside, CA. We miss it so much! JayC and I have decided we would love to retire there someday. There's just something magical about the ocean and the 60-70 degree weather year round is awesome!

JayC had surgery on his shoulder on April 15, and another surgery on his hernia on May 15. Both surgeries went smoothly, but the recovery was scary both times. He reacted negatively to the drugs they gave him and his left lung was paralyzed for awhile after his shoulder surgery, and his left leg was paralyzed after his hernia surgery. It was a scare, but thankfully, he recovered from the side affects and his shoulder is still healing nicely. He still has physical therapy for it and it feels great as long as he has the regular exercise for it. He has some scar tissue that hurts him from time to time for the hernia surgery, but for the most part, he's doing well.

In the middle of June, JayC got a new job assignment for the Air Force and quickly was transferred to San Angelo, TX to Goodfellow AFB for training. He's been in training for 5 months and has 1 more month to go! Then he has another 3 week class and then it's another move back to California, but this time to Beale AFB in California. He'll be so relieved to be done with training after 2 years of it! And by the time we get to Beale, he'll have gained another rank to E-4, Senior Airman. Yay!

Connell has been growing like a weed this year! He turned 2 in July and now he is definitely fulfilling his calling of being a "terrible 2." He's very smart and determined, and some of his favorite things to do are building forts out of our couch cushions and blankets, swimming, and building towers with his mega blocks. Oh, and don't forget building potato heads! He dumps all the parts onto his bed and plays with them off and on all day long. He still isn't very excited about talking, but he communicates pretty well. He can sing his Veggie Tale songs, Bob the Builder, and Spongebob Squarepants. He says a few phrases like, "Where'd it go?", "What is that?", and he imitates the sounds of things. And he babbles all the time in his own language. I'm hoping one day soon he'll just wake up speaking full sentences that we can understand! He's so much fun and he keeps me on my toes!

And lastly, my year has been a crazy year of ups and downs with trying to figure out why I am having no luck getting pregnant and then dealing with the terrible ovary pain I've had once or twice a month. I had my first trip to the emergency room on my birthday with an inflamed ovary. And after months of tests, finally in Texas I found a doctor who could tell me what is wrong with me. I was diagnosed with PCOS, and so now I begin the adventure of learning how to deal with that. I hope and pray we'll be able to have more kids, cuz Connell sure needs a playmate! I feel incredibly blessed to have Connell at all. I never dreamed I'd have a problem having children, but we all have our trials. I still have faith the Lord will bless us with more. I just have to do my part.

It's been a crazy year, but the new year brings more adventures! The Lord has blessed us. I know I couldn't do all that we've done this year without His help! Happy 2010!
