I've been debating for the last two days if Anders had a tummy bug or a food reaction. Well, he woke up at 3am this morning because he vomited, and has proceeded to vomit a dozen more times since then (3 1/2 hours later), though it's mostly dry heaves right now. He's running a little fever, and had diarrhea, too. Guess a tummy bug wins the game.
Though I'm not thrilled about it (and it's hard to see him so sick!), it is nice that it isn't a food reaction!
It's going to be a long day today, though, as I had 2 hours of sleep. After the third time of putting him on his bed, and having him vomit 5-10 minutes later, I just put him on a blanket on the couch. I tried to sleep on the floor, but he would wake up with dry heaves, and the asleep/awake thing is hard for me when I'm this tired. So I just stayed awake. And I have that surprising false energy right now, I hope it will last through the whole day.

New Shoes

Anders has only worn soft shoes (Robeez and others) to this point. Currently he had 2 different pairs.
On Friday, we left one pair at the childcare for Mother's Council (a mother's group at a local church)... and his second pair was MIA. We decided it was a good time to get him his first real shoes.
I printed out a chart online from Stride rite to get a feel for his size, and to see if he was a wide width as I suspected. He was, so we went to the local Stride Rite on Saturday morning.
We got the cutest pair of brown shoes for him, size 6.5. He did measure in a wide, but they didn't have the shoes we wanted in a wide in his size. However, the kind we got fit him just fine in a regular width (leading us to ask the question "why did we just spend $50 on a pair of shoes for a baby, when we didn't even need the wide width??" )
He was so funny walking in them--they are clearly different than walking in soft shoes, as he toddled around like I have never seen him do. I thought I would be sad as we left that part of his babyhood behind... but he is so adorable in his new shoes! My little baby is growing up. It's a good thing they stay so cute.

Erik's song
Erik is starting to make up a lot of songs. Well, I suppose I should say that I'm starting to understand more of Erik's songs, as he's been making songs up for a long time. :)
Yesterday he sang me this song:
Hiding under the table
Hiding under the table
Peek, peek
Peek, peek
Here I come
He sang it, then he said "Mom! That was like 'Ring around the Rosey'!" And he actually was hiding under the table at the time.
