School

Tyson is in Kindergarten this year, and Tanner is in Preschool. Both of them love their teachers and classes. They get sad when their is a holiday because they don't get to go to school. Tyson gets to ride the bus. There is a group of boys his age that all ride together. My kids seem to be growing up so fast. Kate and Tanner love to walk Tyson to the bus stop. We are going to be busy this year, but I'm excited for my kids' enthusiasm to learn.

Other things...

While the boys were camping one weekend (I have no pictures of their trip), I spent the time and straightened Kate's hair. She looked so different with straight hair. Too bad it only lasted for an hour until she took her nap. Then she woke up with a fro. She has also become quite attached to her baby doll, which I think is cute. She will be a great little helper when baby #4 comes along.

A few pics from the Beaver County Fair where the little kids get to show a lamb. Tanner did his all by himself, but Tyson was a little more leery and wanted Anthony to help him. When I told Tyson to smile for me, he said he couldn't because he had to watch the judge. Ha ha.

Tanner's Birthday

Tanner turned 4 this year. He was so excited to get his own scooter for his birthday and a Star Wars light saber. My boys play so hard. Tanner wanted a Mario cake so this is what I came up with from an 8 inch round cake pan. Happy Birthday little boy!

Scandinavian/ Memorial Day

Here are just a couple of pics from Scandinavian Days. It was fun this year, but we missed Anthony. The T-shirts turned out great! Looking forward to next year.

Camping

We went on a little camping trip over the weekend. The campground we had originally planned to go to was full, so we kept driving to Pine Valley. Their campgrounds weren't open yet. So we decided to stay and fish awhile. Anthony caught 5 fish. Tanner stayed right with him the whole time and kept casting his own fishing line, but Tyson lost interest in about 5 minutes and was off in lala land running around and doing whatever it is that he does. After that, we went to the place where we found our Christmas tree and found a little spot away from the road that already had a firepit. This became our camp spot for the night. Tyson was so diligent in gathering wood and Tanner made sure he kept the fire burning big. The sleeping arrangements were a little tight in our little 4 man tent, but I never expect to get good sleep when camping. It was a fun little trip.

Helping Dad

Anthony had to drain his pool at the hotel and he thought the kids would like to see him fill it up. He had a hose from the fire hydrant and I think it filled the pool in about an hour. Last time with a regular hose it took about 8 hours. The kids always like it when they can go to the hotel to help dad with things (mostly because they always find some sort of candy in his office and they stash their mouths and pockets full). This day, however, Tyson was sick and throwing up, so he just laid on a lounge chair in the shade.

Ward Party

The day before Easter we had a ward party at a little farm. Sadly, this was our last ward party with this ward and all our friends because they reorganized the boundaries and we were placed in a new ward. Anyway, it was lots of fun. Anthony was at Lake Powell but I took the kiddos and had a great time. They had an Easter egg hunt, a train ride, horse rides, and Jimmy John's sandwiches. Here are a few pics from the event.

Day trip to Zion's

This week is National Park Week. Entrance to Zion's is free for a week so we decided to head out to our local National Park and enjoy a Saturday of great weather and beautiful scenery. We have lived here almost 4 years and had not yet visited Zion so it was a long overdue trip. We packed a lunch and spent about 5 hours in the park on two short hikes with the kids. They loved riding the shuttle buses even though they were extremely packed! They also loved seeing the waterfalls. I'm not sure they understood what we meant when we said we were going hiking because there was a little (maybe a lot) of whining about how hot it was and how tired they were, but they stuck it out.

So hard to get them both to look and smile at the same time!

Lower Emerald Pools. Anthony carried Kate most of the time and she had that straw in her mouth the entire time. Her diaper was soaked. At least she didn't dehydrate. She was sucking away all day.

Kids' Workshop

Home Depot does a Kid Workshop once a month and my boys love to go. Each time they do a different craft and they provide all the tools, nails, glue, and the kit they will be building that day. The best part is that it is FREE. This craft was racecars and once they were complete, they had a large track set up for the kids to race their new cars. It was so much fun. The only problem is that these crafts are starting to clutter my house but they boys always find some use for their treasures.

Surprise!

So I bet you thought you would never see another post from me, didn't you? Well, I kind of thought that too. But I guess I felt the urge to post just a short update for those that even still visit my blog.
Anthony is working full-time, going to school part-time, and trying to stay sane with all his other obligations. I've lowered my expectations of seeing him very often, but he still does a great job of being a dad and husband. We leave Saturday for a work convention/vacation so it will be nice to have some time together.
Tyson and Tanner took a tumbling class in February and loved it. They are so energetic and outgoing. They are also getting to be pretty good friends, which makes me happy.
Kate is now walking full-time. She has 6 teeth, and the cutest smile. And curly hair. She is a sweetheart, but I can tell she is also a bit spoiled. Her brothers adore her.
We have had a lot of rain this year, and even a smidgeon of snow. The weather is looking good lately and we spend as much time as possible outside in the fresh air.

This is a flood right by my house. Luckily, because of the plywood we put up, the water didn't get inside our house. Now we are just left with a river of mud that all the kids love to play in.
My buddy boys.
