Jaguar D-Type

I photographed this car at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting at Oulton Park in September 1992, where it took part in the 8 lap Historic Car Championship Race.
It's Andrew Baber's 3,781cc straight-6 1956 Jaguar D-Type and it was driven in the race by Gary Pearson. The chassis number is XKD 530 which is a car that was originally supplied to Kurt Lincoln of Helsinki and was raced also by Timo Makinen amongst others. After being campaigned in Finland for several years, including participation in ice racing, the car came into the hands of Nigel Moores in the mid-1960s. It required a complete rebuild, and at that time different parts of the car were used to create two D-Types, both bearing the XKD 530 identification. This car has the registration number XSV 979, and the other car is PAS 645.

Aston Martin DBR4

I took these photographs at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting at Oulton Park in September 1993 where it competed in the Historic Car Championship Race.
It's Tony Smith's 1959 Aston Martin DBR4, built originally with a 2½ litre engine, but at this time powered by a 2,992cc DB3S unit. The DBR4 competed in World Championship races in 1959 in the hands of Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby, but never achieved a top 3 finish. It's chassis number 4 and was later sold to Hubert Fabri.

I've shown photographs of the Aston Martin DBR4 previously - on 7 October 2015 and 8 March 2017 at the 1959 British Grand Prix, when it was known as the DBR4/250 - and on 7 May 2016 and 2 August 2017 at subsequent historic race meetings.

Rainy Day at Oulton Park

I took this photograph of two Aston Martins in the paddock at Oulton Park on a very wet day at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting in September 1992.
On the right is Simon Draper's straight six 2,992cc 1954 Aston Martin DB3S, chassis #DB3S/7. Originally built with a coupe body but was rebuilt with an open body after an accident in the 1954 Le Mans 24 Hour race. The car on the left is a straight six 3,670cc 1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, the first one built, and it's chassis #200R. On 23 January 2016 I showed a photograph of this car that I'd taken at Silverstone in 2010.

Lotus 15

I took this photograph at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting at Oulton Park in September 1993.
It's Robert Brooks' 1959 1,960cc Lotus 15, a development of the smaller Lotus Eleven and designed to accommodate engines up to 2½ litres rather than the 1½ litres of the earlier car. It was produced from 1958 to 1960 but wasn't successful in endurance races, failing to finish the Le Mans 24 Hour race in both 1958 and 1959.

Emeryson 500cc F3

This car competed in the '500cc Formula 3 Cars' class in the Historic Formula Junior Championship race at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting at Oulton Park in September 1992.
It's a front-wheel drive 500cc Formula 3 Emeryson but it's not listed in the programme of the event, so sadly I don't know who owned the car or who drove it that day.
Here's the car rounding Lodge Corner during the race.

On 1 March 2016 I showed a photograph of the 1961 Emeryson F1 car.

Historic Formula Junior Championship

Here are some cars lining up in the marshalling area in the paddock ready to take to the track for a practice session for the Historic Formula Junior Championship race at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting in September 1992
The race included classes for rear-engined Formula Junior cars, front-engined Formula Junior cars, 500cc Formula Three cars and Historic Formula Three (1964 to 1970) cars. The four cars here are, from the top, David Noble's 1959 Gemini Mk2 and Tony Steele's 1959 Lola Mk2, both of which were in the front-engined Farmula Junior class, then Robert Baker-Carr's 1967 Brabham BT21B and Ray Harper's 1965 Merlyn Mk 9, which were both in the Historic Formula Three class.

Aston Martin Le Mans

This car appeared at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting at Oulton Park in September 1993.
It's Robert Taylor's 1933 1½ litre Aston Martin Le Mans, and on 15 November 2016 I showed the same car at the 2011 Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Donington Park.

Friday's Ferrari

I took the photographs of this car at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Autumn Historic Car Races meeting at Oulton Park in September 1992.
It's Paul Alexander's 1954 Ferrari 750 Monza, chassis #0470MD, and on 20 March 2015 I showed some more photographs of this car at that meeting.
Here's Paul Alexander approaching Lodge Corner during his race.

On 20 September 2013 I showed a photograph of the same car at the 1993 Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone, where the programme of the event shows the entrant and driver of the car to be Paul Alexander, but the barchetta.cc record says that Brandon Wang was the owner at that time.
