Ada Choi and Athena Chu's Comeback Project May Fall Through at Any Time, Tavia Yeung in Discussion for Another 'Big Female Lead Series'

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

ontv Clip

Last year, it was said that [Ada Choi] would be returning to the company to film the new series "Behind the Queen of Yarn" with Athena Chu, collaborating with Liza Wang, John Chiang, Bosco Wong, et al. Unfortunately, it has recently been said that, due to various reasons, including issues with the progress of the script, etc., the start date of filming has changed. Since Ada has taken on a lot of work, her schedule may not be able to be accommodated, so the collaboration may fall through at any time!

A reporter asked Ada's manager for confirmation on this matter, and she admitted that it is still not known whether the shoot will be taken on: "The series will indeed commence later. As for whether we take it on or not, don't know yet because [we] need them to confirm the schedule. (Is there any word about how long it will be postponed?) We are still in communication". Since Ada is one of the key characters in "Behind", if [she] is unable to accept it in the end, this series may not be filmed!

There are uncertainties in Ada's 'comeback project'; on the other hand, Tavia Yeung, who returned to the company to lead the series "Darkside of the Moon" last year, has an opportunity for another project. The other day, she revealed in a recent interview that she has been looking at two scripts. It turns out that one of them is the new TVB series "War of the Roses"! The story revolves around the entertainment industry and the upper class society. It is full of suspense, and there is also a sisterly feud, and it is a 'big female lead series'. The female lead has beauty and wisdom, and there is quite a bit to work with. In addition, it is being helmed by the golden producer Chung Shu Kai, which has given Tavia a lot of confidence, so there is a chance of joining it.

"War" secretly held a blessing ceremony in Mainland last year. Elaine Yiu, Jacky Cai, Ruco Chan, Judy Kwong, et al. were all in attendance. It is said that production was originally set to start this month. Jacky specially 'shut [herself] away' during the Lunar New Year to read the script, preparing to get into position after the New Year; however, because the Mainland investors hope to have enough episodes of the script before filming starts, the script is being rushed into production, so the filming has to be delayed.

TV queen Charmaine Sheh attended a spring dinner tonight and took pictures with another TV queen, Tavia Yeung; the cameras on site kept flashing. When interviewed, Charmaine revealed that she has already been receiving the scripts for "The QUEEN of News 2" bit by bit: "For now, know that it should be 26 episodes. I don't have all the scripts on hand. Have to chase after them to give them to me episode by episode. Every time [I] chase after them, would say, 'Give you a few more episodes then!' Well, I want to receive all the scripts so that I can do my homework. (For now, already find it interesting?) Yes!"

Charmaine also revealed that she loves to write things down and has already started getting used to writing from memory since "Themis: Goddess of Justice": "The professional dialogue cannot be wrong, so I write from memory. One day, I went to get a manicure and the manicurist asked me what I did to get calluses on my fingers. It was then that I discovered that it should have been caused by using too much force and writing too many words when writing from memory. I will also continue doing this for 'QUEEN'. Work harder now than [my] school days".

At the beginning of next month, Charmaine will leave for Milan to take part in a fashion week event. Asked if she would take the opportunity to buy new clothes, she frankly said, "Would in the past, and would even buy it without knowing whether it would be useful or not. Now, would carefully choose what to buy. Cannot spend lavishly anymore. However, the suits that were bought before could be treated as personal items to shoot 'Themis' this time. (How about 'QUEEN'?) This time, I appear a bit differently, so the look will be more special. (It seems as though there is a lot of new blood joining.) Actually, I have never collaborated with Bosco Wong before. Only met as an Easter egg in the last installment, so the biggest sparks are him this time; however, for now, don't know if there's a romantic storyline".

Tavia Yeung Hopes to Play Enemies with Him Law, Producer Chung Shu Kai: 'Then It Would Be Bantering...Please No'

Artiste Tavia attended a spring dinner and celebration banquet and revealed that her husband, Him Law, was busy with work, filming a series in Shenzhen, so he could not attend. [She] revealed that during the Lunar New Year, [she] brought her two children to Mainland to visit their father on set and play around. Speaking of Valentine's Day, Tavia said that she and Ron Ng happened to be shooting the variety programme 《藝員新訓2025》 that day, and the programme also invited her husband to be a guest, so they were able to spend Valentine's Day together, laughingly saying that her husband brought a large bouquet of flowers to give to her; however, because Him had to rush to film a series afterward, they did not have a meal together. Asked if she would film another series this year, she said that she has two scripts on hand, one of which is Chung Shu Kai's, but [she] has not decided whether she would film it yet. She also said that she would not object to working with Him, but [she] does not want play husband and wife...wants to play enemies, and even said that [she] no longer knows how to date in front of the camera.

In addition, she also said that her children are grown up now; both husband and wife are able to go out to work together, but she is now very troubled about her children's homework: "Because the school requires the children to read a book every night, but the child is only five years old. Chinese is more difficult than English; there are a lot of new characters that [she] does not know".

When Chung Shu Kai heard that Tavia wants to have a hostile relationship with Him, [he] immediately expressed in surprise, "What?! Then it would be bantering...please no". [He] also revealed that "QUEEN" will start production in mid-March and hopes to be able to be completed by May or June. However, the movie version may not be shot at the same time. Due to time constraints, the series will be shot first.

Over half a hundred artistes, including Liza Wang, Moses Chan, Lin Xia Wei, Ruco Chan, Katy Kung, Samantha Ko, Kenneth Ma, et al., attended 'TVB Raceday' today. "Stars Academy"'s Chantel Yiu, Yumi Chung, and Felix Lam were the guest performers, attracting a large number of fans to show up to support. Moses' coffee shop held a charity sale inside the venue. A cup of coffee cost 800 yuan, and he acted as a human backdrop to attract customers to take pictures as they wish. Xia Wei arrived with her husband, Jason Mok, and generously took pictures together. Moon Lau, who walked with a limp, revealed that she accidentally fell when heading out the door. When Liza Wang saw the four Miss Hong Kongs arrive in sexy outfits, she immediately asked, "Are you gals not cold?" The four immediately expressed that they had heat packs and coats to keep warm.

Samantha and Kenneth were interviewed together. Speaking of the box office of their Lunar New Year movie, "Queen of Mahjong", lagging behind the two other Lunar New Year movies, and there was even a movie professional describing this year's Lunar New Year movies as being 'too horrible to watch', Kenneth expressed, "Would not be disappointed about the box office. Heard the big brothers from the movie industry say that the whole environment is also not good. Only hope for everyone to have work! Everyone's criteria for watching movies are also different. I think that Lunar New Year movies do not need to be shot very profoundly. Okay as long as everyone is happy". Samantha added, "The environment is not good. Hope that everyone can adopt an appreciative and encouraging perspective. (The box office in Malaysia is great though.) Yes. It's a pity that we did not go to do promotions. The competition is even greater there. There are ten-plus Lunar New Year movies there". The two both expressed that, if time permits, they would pay for the tickets with their own money to support all Lunar New Year movies.

Talking about his wife Roxanne Tong's series "OPM", which just finished airing, Kenneth laughingly said, "We are a movie and television family. I watched it, of course. Even watched the finale with Telford Wong and Lucas Yiu; they both acted very well. (Your wife had a passionate kiss.) It's a very minor thing. See if it's necessary for the plot. (She wore lace.) The most important thing is making my wife pretty in the shot!" Samantha revealed, "I went to his house to play mahjong. His wife was playing 'A Fistful of Stances'. Really cannot bear it! If talking about intimate scenes, should [she] watch 'Triumph in the Skies II'? He and Elena Kong were so intense!" It was extremely funny. As for Kevin Cheng being absent from the 'Fistful' gathering again, Kenneth laughingly said, "Everyone really wants to see us together. Well, I also don't understand. How come no one invites to do something together? [If] we're invited to an event, Kevin would also bring his three sons along. We are very cheap. Okay as long as it is a happy price".

Tavia Yeung Cares About Eating the Lunar New Year Dinner the Most, Happy to Have a New Path in Acting, Successfully Unlocking the Greater Bay Area TV Queen Has Great Significance

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

stheadline Clip

Last year, Tavia Yeung returned to TVB to film the series "Darkside of the Moon". Not only did the series cause a stir after it aired, but it also achieved great results at the 'TVB Awards Presentation' held last month! Apart from unsurprisingly winning 'My Favourite TVB Drama (Greater Bay Area)', her performance as 'Yu Moon Yuet' received unanimous praise from viewers, even winning 'My Favourite TVB Actress in a Leading Role (Greater Bay Area)' as the hot favourite, allowing her to collect all the leading actress awards at TVB's awards presentation.

Tavia said that 2024 was a fruitful year. Many things were very fulfilling, trying different things at work and being rewarded and receiving others' recognition, which made her feel very happy. "It doesn't matter how much [you] get or how much money [you] make; these are both secondary. It's about having good feedback from viewers, letting yourself have a kind of starting anew...the feeling of moving up at the level of work".

Loves That 'Yu Moon Yuet' Is Dark Enough the Most

Tavia admitted that she really likes the character 'Yu Moon Yuet' because of her polarizing personality and dark side. Although the character's background put pressure on her while she was performing, was also able to experience a lot from the character. "After the series was released, as a viewer watching this character and this series, would have many questions to think about...if I were the person involved, what would I do? I rarely think a lot about a character. Looked back a lot; thus, this character also had a great impact on me".

The character received a lot of good responses, so Tavia could not help but happily express that this success may have opened up another path for her, allowing her to realize that she is able to act in different types of series. Regarding receiving a 'Best Actress' award on stage after 12 years, Tavia said that, because she had never won this award before, this time is considered an achievement unlocked. In addition, a lot of viewers voted. To receive their recognition, it felt very happy and meaningful.

Hopes to Be Able to Win Awards with Her Husband

On the night of the awards presentation, Tavia specifically mentioned that, back then, she won TV queen with the name 'Yeung Yi'; 12 years later, she is standing on the awards stage again with the brand new name 'Yeung Sin Yiu'. Asking if it meant a lot to her, she said that, whether she changed her name or not, standing on the stage also has great significance. "Because [I] haven't won an award after giving birth to [my] children. When [my] children grow up, I will show them the award. Perhaps they would be curious. I will share it with them to let them know...receiving an award after giving birth to children is a kind of great encouragement to me".

As for her husband, Him Law, losing out on the 'Best Actor' award, Tavia frankly said that she was a bit disappointed; however, she believes that every actor has also done a great job and has also worked hard to do his part.

"Although there was a slight disappointment, to a certain extent, my husband also received a lot of people's recognition. Even if he did not receive the award, it does not mean that he has not done well. He can keep going. This time has also given him the motivation to do his job well, to do a goob job in his acting, and to execute his roles even more vividly and incisively. Hope to be able take part on this stage with him again in the future and then win awards together".

Wants to Shoot a Reality Show as a Husband and Wife Partnership

In the New Year, Tavia frankly said that she hopes to try different things, such as livestreaming or taking part in variety programmes. In terms of series, would also want to film if [she] encounters a good character. Asked if [she] would accept reality shows, she said that it is okay, and it would also not be a problem if [she] and her husband, Him, were participating together. "The most important thing is that he gets bullied by me, and then it'll be okay. Actually, we have a slight desire to shoot reality shows. Back then, when I was pregnant, we were also invited to shoot a reality show as a husband and wife partnership. However, due to many different reasons at that time, we could not implement this matter. If there is a chance in the future, would also want to try it".

Tavia frankly said that she and her family are getting older, so [she] would cherish the time together even more, and certainly wants to spend the New Year with family.

Tavia attaches importance to the Lunar New Year dinner the most. In the past, [she] often could not eat it because [she] was working. Now, she would try her best to fight for it.

I asked my mother what will I be?
Will I be pretty? Will I be rich?
Here's what she said to me

Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que sera, sera
What will be, will be

When I grew up and fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead?
Will we have rainbows day after day?
Here's what my sweetheart said

They ask their mother what will I be
Will I be handsome? Will I be rich?
I tell them tenderly

Charmaine Sheh Bids Farewell to Glasses Girl, Reading the Script to Maintain 「Man姐」's Reputation

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

ontv Clip

Charmaine Sheh and Joman Chiang recently appeared on the streets of Causeway Bay to do outdoor filming for the TVB series "Themis: Goddess of Justice". That day was their last day of filming for this series. The two first acted out a scene together in a car, and then Charmaine continued filming alone outside a coffee shop.

Talking about having to bid farewell to the character and the 'glasses girl' look, Charmaine felt very reluctant to part with it: "Feel that the time flew by so fast. It seems as though work has finished as soon as filming began. Perhaps it was because this series was accepted in such a hurry, and there was not much preparation time. Suddenly started filming, and then suddenly finished filming. This was a really fun and challenging series. I am also really reluctant to part with it. (Reluctant to part with what the most?) Reluctant to part with the character and the very long dialogue! There were so many things to remember when going home every day, but was also able to act it out the next day. Being able to act out a good scene with the entire cast, the feeling was very incredible". As for the most unforgettable scene, she expressed that it was the first time walking into the court and sitting on the judge's bench; the feeling left the greatest impression. She also praised that many young actors are also very awesome, and it was a pleasure to work with [them]. Charmaine also said, "This was the first time that I collaborated with Alice [Chan]...have a lot of sparks with her. Were basically arguing in every scene..also had to spit with the eyes. As for [Patrick] Tam, collaborated again after 20 years. We have both matured. Views on acting and communication have become different and improved". If there were a sequel, would [she] be interested in filming it again? She frankly said, "If the script is also this good, then it's certainly okay to do it again!"

Although "Themis" has officially wrapped, Charmaine still cannot stop because she is about to start filming "The QUEEN of News 2" and needs to be well-prepared: "Also happy to be able to have some time to look at the script; otherwise, I would feel very apologetic to 「Man姐」".

Joman Chiang Signs Up to Film "The QUEEN of News 2"

As for Joman's role as a probation officer in "Themis", she said that this character is more sentimental and delicate compared to her previous characters. This is her first time working with Charmaine...felt happy and nervous: "She has a certain status in my heart. Was undoubtedly happy knowing that [I] would be working with her, but was very worried about my performance before filming. Fortunately, Charmaine is very nice. Did not put a lot of pressure during the entire process and was even funny sometimes". [She] also frankly said that she wants to sign up to film "QUEEN" and learn things from Charmaine again.

Kenneth Ma Says That He Is Stubborn and Is a Bit Absurd, Samantha Ko Highly Praises: He Often Encourages People

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

am730 Clip

Acting Out a Girl Pursuing a Guy

Produced and directed by Wong Jing and Patrick Kong, "Queen of Mahjong", as the name implies, revolves around the insurance queen played by Samantha Ko, who pursues the scientist played by Kenneth Ma. The two have an affinity with each other, but she is a 'natural-born mahjong fanatic', and he hates people playing mahjong the most. Between concealing and exposing, a lot of laughs are made. Kenneth said that he is somewhat similar to the character. He said, "Rather stubborn sometimes...may be a bit absurd in the eyes of others". The biggest difference is that he has already known how to play mahjong since he was eight years old. "Because my mom really likes to play mahjong, often held me in her arms while playing mahjong. Often said that I took her tiles away, causing her to be 'shorthanded'". However, he does not have a mahjong addiction, nor does he hate it. Samantha expressed that, because her maternal grandmother really loathes other people playing mahjong, [she] never knew how to play. It was only during the New Year in Hong Kong in recent years that that she finally learned how to play mahjong. She laughingly said, "Actually learned how to play mahjong from shooting this movie. Played several consecutive nights of mahjong...am a master now".

Cannot Forget Kenneth Ma's Heartwarming Action

From the TVB series "Go! Go! Go! Operation C9" and "The QUEEN of News" to both leading the still-unaired "The Game of the Married", Kenneth and Samantha have already collaborated many times. When talking about their impressions of each other, Samantha highly praised Kenneth as being an action-style warm guy who usually does not talk much, but would observe attentively and use actions to show concern and take care of others. She shared a heartwarming experience: "I remember shooting a crying scene in 'Game' in Shenzhen recently. That scene was about me crying in the park. He was watching me in a corner. I kept crying that, after the cameras stopped rolling, [I] was still crying and could not stop, so he came over and patted my head, telling me that it was over...could calm down. He may not say it out...some subtle actions are already very warm". Kenneth, who was next to her, looked embarrassed and did not know how to respond. Samantha continued, "He has another good quality, which is often encouraging people. When you are willimg to ask him, [he] would patiently analyze. He would see the side of you doing well, hoping you give yourself more confidence".

Says That Samantha Ko Lacks Confidence

Kenneth remembers that the first time he worked with Samantha was on "Go!"; at that time, already thought that she was a very hardworking actor, but various factors could not be coordinated, so the response to the series was not great. "In the early days, everyone may have also focused on her figure. Actually, I have always thought that she is very hardworking. When encountering an opportunity to perform, would quickly rise. Filming 'QUEEN', saw her really tranform completely, and viewers discovered that she really knows how to act and is not just reliant on her appearance". Samantha said that she is also fully prepared for any role she plays. When officially filming, would always prepare different interpretations...very worried that the performance is not good enough. Kenneth responded, "She needs others' encouragement...often does not have confidence in herself. Actually, it was also like this when shooting this movie. After she had acted it out, would also ask if there was a better way".

A Vast Difference Between Movies and Television

Nevertheless, "Queen" is Kenneth's first Hong Kong movie and his first time shooting a Lunar New Year movie. He frankly said that it was an achievement unlocked. Having filmed television series for many years, he, who is shot a movie for the first time, admitted that the methods of interpretation for the two are different. He analytically said, television has many scenes that slowly progress. Movies have to be acted very precisely; plus, the screen is very big...cannot act too exaggeratedly like televison. "The movie director already uses the camera to help you speak. The television series director would not use the camera to help you...really dependent on the actors themselves. A lot of the time, we also say that shooting television series is really dependent on the actors; movies are dependent on the director".

Laughs at Himself for Not Being a Pretty Girl When Cross-Dressing

The two have played different roles. When asked what roles they still wanted to challenge, Samantha revealed that she has always had a script that she admires. "I was the president of the Chinese Society when I was in high school, so [I] frequently borrowed books from the library to read. At that time, [I] read a suspense novel, "Heaven and Hell"...finished reading it in one night. After entering the industry, met the novelist, Zita Law. Really want to make it into a movie". The story is about the male lead who, due to missing a female, pretends to live as a female during the day, but turns into an evil killer at night. Samantha is playing this female who becomes a detective. Asking if Kenneth would play the male lead, he laughingly said, "I'm scared of not being pretty enough when cross-dressing, but also interested. I often think about playing a smart villain who is very brainy and meticulous".

Kenneth Ma Is Successful in Both Love and His Career and Leaving Having a Baby to Fate, Exposed by Samantha Ko That Roxanne Tong Orders Long-Distance Takeout and Is Super Considerate, Full of Chemistry from Shooting Series to Film

CREDIT IF REPOSTED

stheadline Clip

With the Lunar New Year movie "Queen of Mahjong" co-produced and co-directed by Wong Jing and Patrick Kong, Kenneth Ma and Samantha Ko, who played the male and female leads in the movie for the first time, took the lead in wishing everyone to get 'rich, rich, rich' and being in luck together in the Year of the Snake, also sharing fun tidbits from the filming and experiencing the New Year atmosphere.

Samantha Ko Self-Drew '13 Orphans' Before

Apart from Samantha and Kenneth, this movie also has Carlos Chan, Dada Chan, Jiro Lee, Benz Hui, Bob Lam, Juliana Kwok, the 'New Generation Lo Fun' Kris Cheung, et al. Samantha, who played the female lead of a movie for the first time, plays an insurance queen and a natural-born mahjong fanatic. She laughingly said that, in reality, not that many people in her household know how to play mahjong. She just learned how to do so in recent years and only knows simple winning mahjong combinations, such as 'all triplets', '13 orphans', and 'big four winds', but has never mistakenly called out a winning hand or made the unintentional mistake of being shorthanded or longhanded. Samantha laughingly said, "I have won with '13 orphans' before. It was a self-drawn win! Someone just asked me if I would 'discard tiles leniently'; I don't know how. Only know how to look at my own tiles and would place them until they are tidy; thus, [I] focus [my] attention on other people's tiles all the time".

Knows About the Staff's Hard Work from Shooting a Mahjong Movie

In order to play a natural-born mahjong fanatic, Samantha watched mahjong-playing clips beforehand and learned gestures, such as stacking tiles; however, she thinks that the staff had a harder time: "They had to prepare the tiles for the entire scene for us to draw the tiles...which tiles had to be drawn, which tiles had to be discarded, and which tiles had to be drawn again. The entire thing had to be planned and arranged...took an hour or two to study the placement. It was only when there were no problems that the actors would then sit down, but these scenes had to be done right. What expression had to be made when whatever tile was drawn...everything had to be acted out!" Kenneth, who played a scientist, invents many things in the movie that want to change the world and benefit mankind; however, only Samantha knows how to appreciate it. In the movie, Kenneth really hates people playing mahjong, so there will be conflicts with her. Although Kenneth laughingly said that there were no mahjong-playing scenes this time, he was exposed by Samantha as being good at playing mahjong in real life. However, Kenneth modestly said that he only knows how to play: "When my mom was holding me, was already watching at the mahjong table. Have known how to play ever since [I] was young, but not to the extent of being good! Just play with [my] family during the New Year...also usually lose. Don't have much luck in gambling...lose every time [I] gamble". On the contrary, Samantha says that she has luck in gambling because she had won with a self-drawn '13 orphans' before...was so excited when [she] won that she took a picture as a keepsake.

Using the New Movie as a Metaphor for Family Affection

The two, who have worked closely together at TVB, shot a movie together for the first time. Samantha highly praised that it is very comfortable to work with Kenneth. Their expressions toward acting are very similar. During rehearsals, [they] often already understand one another when simply reviewing the script...act naturally. Kenneth laughingly said that it feels very interesting to work with her. As long as the character setups and stories are different, they would still have sparks.
